When is it, again? I see the 21st mentioned... I'll try to come down.

Well, that depends. It's been repainted, correct? The Beast has not... I'm sure it's faded a bit. But true, it definitely looks darker.

I really don't like it from what I've seen. Those headlights do not flow at all... and the taillights aren't much better. Other than the grill, its pretty nondescript. It's like a mix of Opel Insignia, Mazda3, Chrysler Sebring, Hyundai Sonata and Honda Accord...

I wonder what color it is. If it's Dark Maple Red Metallic I will probably laugh my ass off. Anyways... How about a $600 parts car?

What a waste. Thread like this certainly doesn't make me miss being around often. -
Gracias, amigos.

Figured I'd share the doings of mine from the past month.

A few pics I've taken in the past month... Yes, I'm excessive.

Frugal drivers don’t top off tank, run out of gas
Cory Wolfe replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in The Lounge
I ran the Cutlass on fumes the last week I drove it. No way in hell I was putting gas in it. -
Thanks, guys.

Yes, that's another one of those quirks I love, haha. Thanks. Yes, I would have greatly preferred a stick, but I couldn't pass this one up just because of the transmission. The auto works a bit differently than I'm used to. It holds onto gears much longer than most autos I've driven. It's great for hills, but I'm sure it's affecting gas mileage a bit. Per mods, I'd like to do a bit more than just wheels. Nothing ricey, but some minor details. I've been on Ebay a dozen times already making a list of what all I want. The biggest things are head and taillights. Otherwise it's badges, keys, interior pieces, etc. A few things I've picked: These or the chrome version of these. Definitely these. Maybe these. I like these as well. Perhaps one of these. The list goes on, I'll probably get one or two at the most, which is all I can probably afford anyways.

Haha... Well, every other car I've owned had the check engine light on for most of the time I driven them, Cutlass included, so it wouldn't be anything new to me. As well, the Cutlass is going back to my parents. It was part of the deal with my Mom helping me buy it. I have no say in what happens with it now. Thanks, though. Appreciate it.

Thanks, guys. A set of wheels are definitely on the agenda. If not aftermarket, a set of factory Alloys atleast. Also, I forgot one picture. It's of the fabulous seats. It's no wonder Jettas are known for being homo-mongers.

...A VW. It's a 1998 Jetta GT. It has a 2.0l 4cyl, automatic, moonroof, alarm, air conditioning, and only 68k miles. It's not perfect, there are some flaws, but it's mechanically sound. I was cautious about buying a VW, but I didn't buy it blind. I looked into its reliability ratings and common issues, got a carfax report and had it checked out by a mechanic before I bought it. It runs very well and is rather peppy for only having 116 hp. Rides nicely, too. It has alot of quicks I'm not used to, though. The seats recline using a twist knob, the single door lock button is on the center stack, the wiper stalk functions oppositely of how I would expect, the headlight knob lacks a parking light function, the trunk lock is tricky to work, and the mirror adjusters are interesting. I love it! Haha... It may not be very exciting or something to be enthusiastic about, but I'm really excited about this car. It's intriguing and ought to be good little car for me. Certainly as far as fuel efficiency goes. I've put 350 miles on it already and I've only put $30 worth of gas in it. I'm looking forward to modifying it, as well. I'm sure the term "rice" is popping into your head right now and your thinking "It's just a Jetta, why bother?" and whatnot. I think it has potential to be a cool little car with minor adjustments. I'm excited, either way. Anyways... Time for some pictures. At the dealership: The first night home after washing it:

Thanks, guys. I have pictures now after putting a good 350 miles on it in the four days I've had it. I should have them up in the Member Rides section within an hour or so.

I went back yesterday and he finally told me what he thought it was. Basically, he says a sweat gland become clogged and infected. Somehow, it turned into a staff infection. As well, I'm going to need surgery either way. I'm guessing what he means by this is that, since its mostly drained with the swelling all down, it's still a lump, a stiff one, and it will need removed. I'm just glad the pain went away. That was the absolute worst pain I've felt since breaking my arm over 10 years ago. Thanks. I'm not sure If I'm back comletely, but I'm going to try to check in more often than I have been. I'm not sure how I've been living without C&G. That they have. *nods* Anyways, per the car, judging by certain guesses, some of you are going to be disappointed when you learn what it is. I still don't have any good pictures of it, I've been too busy driving all over the place. Today, I ought to be able to get some good pictures of it since it's relatively sunny out. It's not perfect, but it's a good little car, it seems. I just need a few things off ebay for it. On another note, let's talk about the Beast. My parent's have just resumed selling it, but instead of $800, it's now $600. Their plans are to leave it by road on Friday nights when the races are going on. Those G-bodies are popular dirt track cars. Surely someone will buy it for just that. Personally, I'd rather see it sold to someone who was going to drive it, but it's not mine. As well, if they can't sell it, they're just going to take it to the crusher considering the cost of steel. And you guys thought I was bad... They're actually serious. If you guys really want it, here's your chance to save it. Something else I feel like speaking about that has entered the gauntlet yesterday is my Grandma. She was just sent to the hospital for none other than lung cancer. She's been having problems breathing the last month or two and has been on inhalers and antibiotics. After going for many tests, they finally concluded she has a tumor about the size of a fist. She always used to be really healthy, but smoking seems to have finally caught up with her. They're still trying to figure out was type of tumor it is, I guess? However, she's been starting radiation therapy. I found out while at work via my aunt. After I got off, me and my parents headed over to see her. She looks like her normal self, still, which is good. I was hoping for that.

Frozen - Madonna What? I've been feeling especially gay lately, okay? Don't judge me!
-
It's true. It was just a phase. I have been cured of my gay disease. *nods* ....Okay, perhaps not. I'm quite the flaming homo, still. Anyways, I haven't been on the forums very much the past month. Life has taken many twists and turns, some good, some bad. I've been busy with work, friends, family, and the ever popular past time of car shopping. Speaking of the last two... My Mom, out of the blue, offered to help me with buying a car. She just got a new job in which her pay will be about $5 more per hour than her old one, not to mention she just finished paying off the Sunfire. Anyways, this greatly helped my search for a car. I'm very thankful she helped me. That occurred about two weeks ago. I bought a car today. I'm pretty excited. I've already put a good hundred miles on it and to my relief, the needle on the gas gauge has budged just a bit more than an eighth of a tank. Exactly what I need right now. I'll let you guys guess what it is, though. I'll tell you this, it's a 1998, it has 68k miles, and I bought it for $3999. It's a cute little car. Very roomy, very peppy. It has a nice set of fogmeisters, that, combined with the low beams, are almost as bright as the high beams. I'm happy to finally move away from the Beast and into something that won't hold me back. I haven't had time to take pictures of it in the daylight, but once I do, I'll try to post them and finally reveal what it is. Also worth mentioning is that I sold the LTD for my friend. He got $400 out of it. Ironically enough, I sold it about an hour after I put a down payment on the... eerrr... my new car. I had listed it for him and had gotten a few inquiries, but no one who actually came to look at it. This guy emailed me and seemed very interested. He eventually came to look at it. After half of hour of him and his buddies looking it over and what not, he takes it. They load it up and go on their merry way while I got to babysit my friend's money. Other than those, not too much is notable besides this. I've had to see a doctor. I somehow have had an uber massive infection brewing in my armpit. It started out as what I thought was just a really big pimple. Well, each day it seemed to double in size until it was about the size of a flattened golf ball and swollen all around it. I suffered the worst pain I've ever felt. Constant burning and sharp pain. It started draining, thankfully. I've never seen such a messy thing. It's rather disgusting. I've been on an antibiotic and pain killers, the latter of which I'm so thankful for, haha. With that said, the doctor said that if it doesnt improve, I may have to have surgery to actually remove it. That's fine and dandy and all... except that I don't have health insurance. I can only imagine how much something like that would cost without coverage. Needless to say, I really don't want to have surgery. That's not what I need right now. That's all for now. I'm going to try to check in more often like I used to, but I can't say for sure. Life isn't very predictable.
-
True. I can no longer afford to drive it, however. Anyways, It ended up rusting completely off and was dragging on the ground. I just removed it entirely aft of the catalytic converter which I may remove as well. It's pretty loud, I must say. With the races occurring every Friday night, it's nothing too out of the ordinary. Thus, it's good enough for the time being. I don't really have the time or money to replace it and it's certainly not a priority of mine. It's not hurting anything as long as I don't get a citation for it. I've already been let off with a warning once now. Something tells me I won't have to worry about it much longer. I'll let you guys know more whenever it comes to fruition. Life has just been pretty hectic lately. I haven't had alot of time to stop by. I'm surprised I'm not going through withdrawal as much as I always visited the forums. You all are probably celebrating, anyways.

I saw this classified ad and thought of you. Figured I'd show you. For $600 and supposedly only needing a battery and a brake line, not to mention having 50k original miles, seems like a good deal. Clicky You're next step is to clean out your inbox, because it's full.

Checking in... I wish. It's not running any better. It's louder and diesels even worse now. It rusted out, not blew out. The entire exhaust is starting to fall off. Would you like to see? I give it a few weeks before it actually does. That is, if it's not taken care of sooner. I'm thinking straight pipes like my dad fabricated for his 77 Scottsdale as a quick and cheap fix. As for the rattling, it might actually be the exhaust, as well. As mentioned, it's starting to completely fall off. Upon dieseling, it shakes noisily now. I haven't noticed a difference in body roll besides what could be contributed to the right front tire being low at times.
