The Rendezvous sold amazingly well for what the minimal investment that went into it. Over the years, it regularly outsold the MDX and came close to meeting the RX300/30. That's saying something. The Enclave only adds to its success.

I'm getting rather sick of deep-inset trunklids like this.

Did a Holden, like, run over your dog? Did a Monaro sleep with your wife? Maybe a Commodore ate your last M&M? :AH-HA_wink:

Saturn expansion continues with Euro imports Link to Original Article @ Motor Authority General Motors in the US will once again call on its European cohort for its latest addition to the Saturn lineup. Starting from 2009, US customers will be able to sample the Vectra Caravan, which will be sold alongside its Saturn Aura sedan sibling. The first cars are scheduled to roll out of Opel’s Rüsselsheim plant in Germany in 2009 with an allotted 50,000 cars being shipped across the Atlantic. The introduction is part of GM’s push to offer more fuel efficient cars in its lineup. Both the Aura and its new wagon cousin are important vehicles for Saturn and form the basis of the brand’s rejuvenation as a profitable label that can compete with other European imports. Before the wagon arrives, Opel’s Astra hatch will hit showrooms in the US with the first orders shipping later this year. It doesn’t end there. Saturn execs are planning for the introduction of even more European designed models, with some cars, including the next-generation Opel Corsa, tipped to enter production in the US.

Well, here's the illegal immigrant success story people don't like the hear... Two people both came here illegally from Mexico at a young age (17/18) with a newborn child. The father worked hard, they both learned English, and were granted amnesty under Ronald Reagan's administration. Today, they live in a nice bungalow they own, he works as a maintenance superintendant at a local hospital, his wife stays at home mostly and raises the younger children, and their daughter is going to college. They own three cars, contribute to the local economy, speak English, and live a life far better than was possible in Mexico. These folks are my girlfriend's parents and - legal or not - they came to America the right way; with a desire to better their lives and be part of this country. See, your sincerity and character are not determined by your legal status; its determined by the person. If I could cherry pick, I would certainly naturalize a few thousand illegal immigrants with a real sincere desire to be American in exchange for expatriating an equal number of slovenly, undeserving natural-born 'Americans' who couldn't care less about the nation that gave them the freedom to be lazy and complain. On the subject of language, truth be told, not learning English in this country - nay, this world - is a function of laziness. Citizens will agree to that and foreigners who do speak English REALLY agree with that. English is not our official language, but it is the world language of commerce, trade, education, and communications. If air traffic controllers in Nairobi have to learn English, why shouldn't someone living in the largest English-speaking nation? Its not a matter of law; its a matter of common sense to do so. The Puerto Rican flag thing is a tangent, but I agree it doesn't quite make sense. I remember a classmate born here with Puerto Rican roots saying, "Puerto Rico is better than the States." Uh. No its not. It is the states.

Its a remnant of the Centieme concept...

New Buick Enclave Rolls Off Local Line April 11, 2007 04:01 PM EDT | Link to Original Article @ WLNS News It's all systems go for the Buick Enclave. The very first models available for public sale are rolling off GM's Delta Township assembly line. The wait is over. After months of tweaking and testing, the Enclave is ready to roll. A state-of-the-art assembly line brings forth a state-of-the-art crossover SUV. The Enclave is the much-anticipated final piece in the Delta Township vehicle lineup. Harry Clay, Team Leader, GM Delta Twp. Assembly: "It's full-steam ahead now. We had the launch of the Outlook and the Acadia, now we have the Enclave, so it's full production all day every day." GM officials say they will ease the Enclave into production, even though demand from dealerships is high. Here's how those production numbers break down- right now there are 6,000 enclaves ordered. Delta Township will begin producing 50 of these vehicles per day, but that is sure to increase by the end of the week. The launch manager of the Enclave says the models are the results of 6 months of extensive tests. He says the results are good. Lou Balogh, Launch Mgr., Buick Enclave: "They're to the point that they're absolutely ready to go. They're continually improving with every car we build." And as production ramps up, he describes an effort which everyone at the plant can be proud of, and an effort the public will likely appreciate very soon as well. Lou Balogh: "You're working on something you know the customer absolutely wants, you know all the auto publications are really looking at this thing of high value and giving us a lot of praise, it makes it a lot of fun."

Cool. Gonna go pick some oranges now? Unemployed Americans complain that working at McDonalds is 'degrading.'

My take: What he said was wrong, pure and simple. He's an asshole and it shows. HOWEVER, this would never 'take away the victory' I had earned as part of that team.

Again, we're talking about collectable cars here, so I highly doubt any Corolla or Civic will be a part of it. I'd much more likely expect rare or limited-production versions of Celicas, Preludes, and Integras over anything else, I just didn't mention them because I have no idea what models they are.

But Bryant Gumbel is white, too.

General Motors pulls ads from Imus show The Detroit News General Motors Corp. has joined the ranks of sponsors pulling ads from the "Imus in the Morning" program following the shock jock's controversial comments last week about African-American, female college athletes. GM said it will stop advertising during the Imus show, which is broadcast nationally during peak morning drive time over the CBS radio network and simulcast daily on the MSNBC cable television channel. The automaker issued a statement saying "General Motors obviously does not condone the comments Don Imus recently made in reference to the Rutgers University women's basketball team. "Mr. Imus has publicly apologized, and admitted his comments were "completely inappropriate and offensive." He has also stated his intention to make changes to his show. We acknowledge and welcome these actions. We have decided, however, to suspend our advertising while we continue to monitor the situation." CBS and MSNBC have said they will punish Imus by suspending the program for two weeks starting April 16. Consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble, office-supply chain Staples Inc. and other sponsors already have pulled their commercials from the program, despite repeated apologies and promises of reform from Imus. GM said it will continue will continue to support Imus' charitable efforts, which includes work with sick and disabled children.

If you cut off a Prius and smash your brakes so they have to smash their brakes, you're not being rude; you're giving them more electricity.

Maybe its the cynic in me, but you only leave the scene of an accident like that and go home when you don't want to police to find out why you really crashed.

Any Olds Toronado Any Buick Riviera 1979-85 E-Body coupes and convertibles 1980-85 Seville 1995-99 Olds Aurora Cadillac Allante Buick Reatta Olds Cutlass Supereme convertible 1990-91 Olds Quad 442 Cutlass Calais 1992-02 Cadillac Eldorado (esp. convertible conversions) Ford Taurus SHO Ford Focus SVT Ford Contour SVT 1995-2002 Lincoln Continental Chrysler TC by Maserati 1990-93 Chrysler Imperial Dodge Neon SRT That's all I can think of now. Many of those are already 'collectable' now, especially most of the GM cars I've listed. Allantes still command high prices and Chrysler TCs are worth a decent amount in good condition, too. And for anyone who says "out of every FWD car, that's it?!?!" remember that not every rear-wheel drive car is worth keeping either...

No, they have expense accounts, so we pay for it anyway.

Change the Title to 'Club Ricer'... Change the Title to 'Club Ricer'... Change the Title to 'Club Ricer'... Huh? Oh. Hi. Sorry. Daydreaming. Always thought this car looked pretty good...stock. -
The interior is pretty flawless. I can pick at the exterior here and there, but its very nice. This would make a good SWB-Zeta Lucerne with an Invicta/Electra/whatever LWB version slotted above it.
