  1. Look what your favorite nation did!
  2. Thing is, when everyone else does a digital speedo, it looks like it belongs there. When Toyota does it here, it looks like some crap unit from a Lumina 9C3.
  3. That Star Chief give me warm fuzzies all over.
  4. Don't get me started on portholes. Camry Accord Tundra QX56 Armada Titan F-150 Silverado Tahoe Blazer Explorer Miata Protege Cutlass Ciera Mustang Previa Lexus ES Lexus GS J30 Legend Integra Escort Cavalier That's just a small list of what I've seen tackon portholes applied to.
  5. Scion xB Scion xD 1993 Buick Regal Custom. Parts car. Good interior Winning Bidder - Scion xB Comfy... Forgot something?
  6. That in-dash screen is irritating. Too much information in a limited space. VW does the same thing. Mercedes does the same thing. Audi does the same thing... The 1986 Casio TravelMaster clock display afflicts countless Asian cars and I really don't know why. So much effort is made into details like the one you just mentioned, yet the clock is disgusting and a pain to look at.
  7. Complexity Creep: BMW's Electronic "Dipstick" Causes Oil Grief Link to Original Article @ Jalopnik I read a related blurb in the 'Women and Cars' area of Edmunds that actually praises this. Goes to show what 'enthusiasts' they are...
  8. Aspen was sure worth the effort. Good job on that one, Chrysler.
  9. Toyota is also able to command a higher premium for a Prius-branded hybrid than a Camry/Highlander/etc that just has a hybrid powertrain. Shows where the interest lies.
  10. That's an enigma for the ages.
  11. If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going indeed. I love to point and laugh at A380 proponants right about now. Not only has that monstrosity been delayed on and off for years but every single freighter order has dropped out. Right now, Airbus has 156 standing orders over the course of 7 years while Boeing has 87 orders in 18 months. Its simply a vote of confidence for the superior airframe. And even better, one of the big hitherto-claimed advantages of Airbus engineering is parts commonality between series. Well, the A380 is almost completely bespoke while the 747-8 shares major structures with only the most popular widebody ever manufactured. Hmm... Another humorous fact: Airbus noted early-on that the breakeven number was about 270 A380s. Later, the number rose to 420 because of the inumerable delays. This past April, Airbus remarked that the breakeven has increased even further, but hasn't mentioned a number. What is it now, 500? 550? 600? Airbus only expects to sell a grand total of 750 airframes. Way to go for this disgusting engineering obesity. Simple fact remains that Boeing once again introduces a superior product that can be seamlessly integrated into the current airway system at an affordable price while Airbus rolls out an 800-ton gorilla that demands the world's air transport network redesign itself around it.

  13. Yes. A secret it remains. Answers will be revealed as time passes by.
  14. '55/6 Chrysler New Yorker sedan '58 Edsel Pacer '59 Edsel Bermuda wagon
  15. My girlfriend would cream at that interior. Very nice shape, though. GM should've made a Diesel V4-6-8. Would've been a hoot.
  16. Don't know why that isn't show here.
  17. Dodgefan, I pass by Shadows, Acclaims, and that other one for sale daily for like $900 apiece. No thanks. PCS, I'd love a Toro. Know of an '87-92 with low-mileage in excellent condition? Well...maybe next year.
  18. The Cressida is a reason against RWD. Anywho, the pieces will become clearer as time draws nigh. As you can tell already, it is a used car and it is most certainly a domestic.
  19. Wow, dude. I did that like 30min ago! I don't know. What do you think?
  20. I will in about a month and a half, and more high-age than high-mileage.
  21. Maybe Bill can be 'Honorary Crocsucker'
  22. CTS equals Cadillac Technical Superiority June 1 | Link to Original Article @ CNet Cadillac gave us a little hint of the cabin gadgets available in its 2008 Cadillac CTS. And from what we've heard, we can't wait to see it in action. We saw the new CTS at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show, but Cadillac didn't have the full story on its tech features there. The Cadillac designers focused on making the navigation and entertainment interface usable and seamless. The maps will have a 3D aspect and will show traffic and weather. The stereo gets a hard drive for music storage, and the radio includes a pause feature. We don't have all the details yet, but Cadillac must have a buffering system with the radio, kind of like with a Tivo, that saves the stream of music. The car also gets improved iPod integration. From a tech perspective, Cadillac is the best American brand out there, having been a leader in putting advanced navigation, Bluetooth, and stereo systems in its cars. On close inspection of interior photos of the 2008 CTS, you can see buttons for ripping CDs, playing from a hard disk, and playing XM satellite radio. We will report more on the 2008 Cadillac CTS when it comes out in August.
  23. Ocn, you get eleventybillion hitpoints for this thread.
  24. The place where I got my Aurora is out of business. That tells you all you need to know. For anyone venturing to Florida, I would recommend Saturn of Clearwater as exemplary as well as Dick Norris B-P-GMC for being better the other B-P-GMC stores. Based on how my 'lowly' Olds was treated, I would not recommend Dimmitt Cadillac, whose service department. Three days to even look at my car, then four days to repair, and they didn't even hose it down. Dimmitt makes me want to go to Dew Cadillac.
  25. The current Accord Hybrid was really a waste of time and effort. A Diesel is a better choice.
