  1. That's I guess what they sold here. Its a '70 Marcos Mantis and the original company bought the farm in that year because, well, no one wanted a disproportionate ass-ugly car. They sold kitcars from the late-70s 'till 2000 when they went bankrupt again and are now owned by some rich Canadian. Whatever...
  2. Dumping SAAB would result in the least amount of casualties. Of course, the argument exists that GM would lose a foothold into the elite high-end import market, but SAAB's barely had a foothold for 20 years.
  3. I miss...lamp. I miss lamp!
  4. Um...I insist on good fullsize cars. Right now, there are only a handful of fullsize cars and of those, the real good ones happen to be FWD. Sorry, if I wanted a time machine, I'd buy a Deloreon with Mr. Fusion, not a Town Car. I think you're confusing me for Reg anyway.
  5. That Bears commercial is great.
  6. The regular Chevy board is kept a little less cluttered this way.
  7. According to the site I found those on, the mixed taillamp car was a design mule for a Canada-only version.
  8. Here's a little-known fact: The budget A-body models introduced in '61 for Buick, Pontiac and Olds started off as Y-body (Corvair) variants. Pontiac Polaris next to Corvair Unnamed Buick version Oldsmobile version
  9. Okay, seriously, what's with the hate for the Aveo and Saturn? Aveo is necessary for both CAFE numbers and for people who want an economical domestic. You want them to get an Echo instead? Saturn also attracts people who would never set foot in another cheesy high-pressure Chevrolet dealership.
  10. This is a serious problem that you can't blame on the dealers. After all, don't they have to be trained by Honda? Its not a legitimate excuse and even if by some stretch it was, Honda dealers = Honda. To the public, blaming the service tech is like blaming Doug in engineering; he still works for you.
  11. What a pile of crap. Why don't you get a nice car, like this? :P
  12. FHP still has a nice fleet of Camaro intercept cars. One rocketed by me this morning hot on an older M3. As far as Holdens, with the fuel tank relocated as per US safety regs (a la GTO) so it doesn't light up like a Crown Vic, trunk space is pathetic for a car its size, something like 7 cubic feet. Police cars have and need massive trunks.
  13. I read that news story and had to ask myself...what kind of standard does Suzuki really have. Esteem? Swift? C'mon...Daewoos are at least as good as previous Suzukis.
  14. That is the best non-satrical news excerpt I've read this year.
  15. Look at an early-80s/late-70s Accord or Camry/Cressida. That puts things in perspective.
  16. Speaking of stuff like that, did anyone notice that I changed the Google search engine's name to GoogleBooglePumpkinPie on the old board?
  17. Chevy Astro Buick Century Pontiac Grand Am Pontiac Sunfire Chevy S-10 Oh, wait...that's Jerry Flint's list.
  18. You know, the way to get people to buy scooters is to show a pink one. Drive where I drive for a week and you'll see why I won't even rent something smaller than a Grand Am...
  19. Shouldn't this be titled, "DaimlerChrysler Begins Enforcing Parking Policy"
  20. I'll give the Raider one thing and that is it fixes the Dakota bumper underbite...

  22. We would have one car. It would be a gutless, designless, soulless sedan. It would have no style, no class, no performance. It would get average fuel economy, average roominess, average handling, and no special features. It would be sold in Maytag low gloss white with gray cloth seats. It would be called... Tempo

    2007 Kia

Yeah, I see the Q45 up front. Otherwise, just alot of Sonata with a different glaze to it.
  24. But people don't buy minivans for crisp handling; they buy them for comfort, luxurious touches, and practicality. I've heard some positive comments about the Quest's and even the MPV's handling characteristics compared to other vans, but neither offer much in terms of practical minivan innovations.
  25. Remember when the Bonneville ran at Bonneville?
