Typical post-buyout Chrysler half-assness.
-
By reporting that I filled up for $2.63 a gallon. That's no lie.
-
Razor, back off the personal attacks. There's no reason to get riiled up over something like this.
-
Trees take in CO2 and give off O2.

Yeah, I could easily forget about any SAAB for the Eldorado Brougham.
-
They did. By alot. But remember the fullsize car market was alot bigger back then. Now, for $30k you can get a midsize SUV or a Bimmer.

Actually, I'm going to recant my argument regarding the exhaust system after actually driving behind a DTS today. It is noticable. Overtly so. Bad job, guys. That crappy new rear valance doesn't cover half as much as the old one did. The rest still stands, though.

I really can't even agree with Josh that everyone was slow to react. Remember, the water level was still rising into the week. What stuns me in contrast is how disorganized and ill-prepared our own government is. Bush flew asked Air Force One to overfly the area earlier this week. Overfly it? You're the President! Finally, you tell the inept local leadership in Louisiana to back off and start sending in federal aid and troop en masse six days later. By this time, convoys of supplies are inbound while busload of refugees are outbound. Great coordination, guys.

Especially with those inappropriate rims and Pathfinder rear door handle. More like a Murano with a Liberty front clip.

If I wanted a golf cart, I'd totally just buy a golf cart.

'Worst' is predicated on residual value? Get a life. People need to wake up, take a step back, and realize that even the 'worst' cars sold in this country are generally cheaper, more reliable, and easier to fix than the average car elsewhere.

The presence of guns in the hands of rooftop gangs is the source of problems and a major reason why rescue efforts are moving slowly. This isn't an anti-/pro-gun argument; its a fact that criminals have guns in New Orleans right now and are shooting at police and Coast Guard helicopters because they are wastes of humanity. This is definitely not the time for vigilante justice and certainly a situation where only the police and guardsmen should have weapons. Empowah, I heard that figure on a local syndicated radio talk show, so I don't know the accuracy of the number, but even if the number were really half that, it speaks to the gravity of the situation. As far as the racism angle, who cares? We all know what the media is about but the last thing people need to do (and have been doing) is saying, "If it would've been white people trapped in downtown, the reaction would've been different." No. I doubt it.

Its Ford's fault your child was strangled to death because you left him inside a Sable with the engine running and he stepped on the window swtiches trying to watch your run into Old Navy to return the crappy Capri pants you just bought because you think the color makes your hips look fat.

I'm merely considering how they existed in production. Cressidas were very inglorious-looking until the last few years. Those, I can appreciate actually, so I'll modify my response to pre-'89 (I guess) Cressidas. Fieros catch fire. The Catera was pretty useless in the first years especially. They're odd, filled with counterintuitive buttons, and ding weirdly for random reasons. However, the restyle made them look nice and damnit, the Steinmetz was indeed hot. The 3.0l stock version was totally 'meh'. I'm going to throw this down now: AWD Throwaways Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe - not only a horrible engine (1.8l), but an even more gutless version in AWD versions. What gives? 120-some whopping horsepower - watch out Aerio! Especially the Marauder. Still porky with casino boat handling. Mercury even admitted by the numbers that the 8 year-old Impala SS outclassed it. Plus, it had the exact same interior as a Crown Vic LX Sport except a floor shifter, drab plastic trim, and dopey PepBoys guages mounted low on the center stack for unknown reasons. Grand Marquis is just...yeah. Crown Vic is cool...for cops. Town Car is about a decade behind the 2000 DeVille in style and technology.

Honda Reports Record Breaking August Sales
Flybrian replied to VenSeattle's topic in 2005 Sales Archive
FCX sales fell a whopping 25% since this time last year. :P -
What is considered environmental here? Fuel economy? Materials used? Actual emissions? Or just image? I chose the third option, by the way, because cars today are very close to being the cleanest they can ever be with gasoline-fueled internal combustion engines. I believe most US tailpipe emissions standards are equal or even more stringent than those of 'enlightened' European nations and Japan.

Just a point of order, the platform is a modified G-body and is actually about 10 years old now.

Chrysler Group Reports 17th Consecutive Month...
Flybrian replied to Variance's topic in 2005 Sales Archive
Its natural. Everyone who wanted one pretty much has one by now. Sales'll level off at ~5-7k a month until something new comes out. -
Hmmm. He could be onto something. Maybe there is room in the American marketplace for a small and relatively vague company to sell only trucks and sport utility vehicles. Wait... ...nevermind.

There was a gentleman in Waveland, Mississippi who went into a destroyed KMart to get food and supplies. He said, "We're not looters; we're just trying to survive." That stands in marked constrast to those in New Orleans who shot at Coast Guard Jayhawks trying to rescue them because they want to rescued first. Because of that retardation, now very few besides those in the military are being allowed in. It seems as if this is really two disasters in one - the 'normal' hurricane damage of Mississippi and the abnormal near anarchy in New Orleans. Its becoming infinitely clear that lots and lots of people fucked up. Hospitals were thought to be evacuated but are instead islands of not only patients from other hospitals but refugees as well, begging for boats to take the sick and injured away to dry land. New Orleans told everyone to amass themselves in the Superdome and convention center not consdering the reprocussion of mixing thousands of families, tourists, and unchecked inner city people into the same crowded area. A man in Mississippi who is living out of a lean-to on fruits from a nearby produce stand said something to the effect of, "You send big ol' helicopters carrying things into Iraq every day. But why not here? C'mon, Bush, you can do better than that." I agree and echo that sentiment. Our 'leadership' has had - at best - a halting response to what is easily the greatest disaster this country has seen. I saw him at a press conference today. He basically told those in New Orleans to "be patient" and the rest of us "don't buy gas unless you have to." Idiotic statements.

How can you possibly make an ION worse? Honda? Seriously, again, what a freakin' horrible spoiler. And a front quarter window? How about designing the car correctly in the first place. Idiots.
-
Seriously, guys, its fine. And the next person to mention valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car is getting their ass kicked. God, its irritating.
-
Yeah, but the Ram has an absolutely retarded stance.
-
Yeah, really. LeSabre is also one of the few cars that has really always been true to itself. Sports cars became bloated coupes, coupes became sedans, and sedans became midsizers. But the LeSabre has always been solid.
