  1. Mitsubishi Lancer. Dodge Lancers were cool. Most Mitsu Lancers here are tepid and lame. Dodge Polara. Lincoln Versailles. Plymouth Volare.
  2. Let's make it $38,000 versus... Honda S2000 - $33,150 (base) BMW Z4 - $34,800 Mercedes SLK - $46,250
  3. 1) It was a roadster reborn, a modern 2-seater. 2) It had tight dimensions unlike SL, Corvette, and Allante, and was a tight handler, unlike Reatta. 3) It was relatively affordable. 4) It was not British (read: reliable), so people who weren't weekend mechanics could reasonably own one. I wouldn't say it changed the face of the industry, but it carved out its own niche. So did the RX300, but the Miata is iconic. Solstice is the second true regular production American roadster ('53-'55 Corvette being the first) and has the potential to be a real speedster with dynamics a little looser than Miata but power up in SLK/Bimmer range for a fraction of the price.
  4. Is it wrong for me to find humor in the fact that GM sold half as many dead cars (Not 'LeSabre' dying but - like - Eldorado DEAD) last month than SAAB sold total?
  5. Negatory on the interbreeding of any Malibu. The only recent GM-Toyota joint products were the Chevy Prizm (Corolla) and Pontiac Vibe (Matrix). The '97-03 Malibu is based off the P-90 platform - modified N-body, I believe - shared with the later Grand Am and Alero and rebadged as the '97 Olds Cutlass.
  6. I like the 300s wheels. Otherwise, who cares? That grille isn't anything you can't get at your authorized Chrysler/Jeep dealership and the paint job? Its not a Bugatti or a '57 'Vette. The paint scheme doesn't even follow any creases or lines on the car. Boo.
  7. What he said. Seriously, of those four, only the Solstice really qualifies for 'significance' - 3er is an evolution, CLS is a permutation, and Fridgeline is an abomination. [/Jesse Jackson]
  8. Mid-70s Cadillac Fleetwood station wagon conversion. Handsome car. More new Civic sedans. God, they look like crap, especially the stunted hood length.
  9. [Razor] Wha...? A WOMAN professor? AHAHAHAHA Yeah right. Seriously, now... [/Razor] :P
  10. Those are pretty ridiculous, but not much worse than these idiots who try to make a stock Caprice an Impala by swapping the grille.
  11. Same as the current Escalade and virtually every other fullsize luxury SUV.
  12. Allright, guys, this is done.
  13. Something like Terraza, IMO, is actually not so bad. Yeah, no one likes minivans and, yeah, most people don't like the CSVs, but there is a market for a classy, high-trimmed minivan. I've personally seen far more Terrazas than Relays and almost as many as Uplanders and SV6s combined around here. And while a good number of the Chevy and Pontiac vans are rentals, a good number of the Buicks are not. Its not the most innovative van, but it certainly has its place. I know someone who actually traded a T&C for a Terraza because of that reason - he valued comfort for all his passengers over maximization of every inch of cargo volume. I'm sure he's not alone. Rainier, on the other hand, is a total waste of time. No one knows about it and furthermore, no one cares. Simply making up the extra capacity after Bravada was dropped. As far as a straight G6 'vert rebadge, I'm not in favor of it. Apparently, this thing is plagued with issues...Pontiac can frankly take it and deal with it; Buick shouldn't have to.
  14. I understand your intention, Mustang, but this really isn't needed. Everyone, do realize there are idiots everywhere. Cressida Boy seems to be one of them, inducing others to engage in trollish activity because he's sad he's driving a 1984 Toyota Cressida. However, its neither here nor there, nor is it relevant to the focus of this site, which is the provide news information and relevant discussion relating to General Motors. Keep in mind, some of us also speak of Toyota in not-so-kind words. Its not all of us, nor is it representative of the whole site. A few loud members does not an entire site make. And just as we wouldn't appreciate others branding C&G members et al as a bunch of GM-humping idiots, the majority of the level-headed members of other boards wouldn't appreciate it either. I know this was inspired partially by Polish_Kris' nonsensical postings on Toyota Nation, but I implore you to read the responses of their level-headed members, most of whom think this kind of "Look what these jackasses said!!!!OMG!!!LOL!!!" baiting is immature as well. Thanks.
  15. GM Design Dome?
  16. Looks like a componant of the US Navy's Key West Test and Training Range Complex or something now decomissioned.
  17. Bruce McCall is the man. His stuff rocks. By the way, replace 'Corvette' with 'Camaro,' and that's a magazine C&G can publish.
  18. Someone: "What's your ethnic heritage?" Me: "Asian and European." Someone: "Oh wow. When did you come here?" Me: "I was born here." Someone: "No, I mean when did you come to the United States?" Me: "Wha...?" Someone: "Nice Bonneville!" Me: "Oh, hey, thanks." Someone: "Yeah, is that the Tom Petty Edition?" Me: "Wha...?" My favorite, when working at the airport: Someone: "Do you guys have a courtesy car I can use?" Me: "No, we don't. Sorry." Someone: "Well...can I use your car?" Me: "Uh...no?" Someone: "Why the hell not?" Me: "Uh...I don't know you?" Someone: "What? You think I'm going to fucking steal your car?!" Me: "Uh...maybe?"

    Im Unkown

Um? I'll be honest...this is wicked stupid and won't be welcome here. I hope I'm not the only one who can see where a communal 'member' with self-bestowed carte blanche can lead...
  20. You really trust those little sensors? If I'm investing more than $500 in a car, its the responsible thing to check your tire pressue and fluids on a regular basis, regardless if it has monitoring systems or not. Its what separates drivers from mere operators, IMO.
  21. What the hell is wrong with people?
  22. Yes, if you're in the market for a late-model used domestic and don't get one now, you're just an idiot.
  23. McFish or whatever they call it. It just looks nasty.
  24. Mmm...chocolate/vanilla twist...
