Re-read what you posted. Door panels that aren't screwed in completely (ill-fitting). Mirror is gone. That's bad as hell. And okay, I'll correct myself - missing part. Instead, missing componants like a horn and a braking system with issues. Doesn't matter if you care about ABS or not, if the car has ABS and it doesn't work, knock another couple hundred off the price. What NADA and KBB don't allow you to do is adjust for disrepair aspects of the car, which you clearly have. Again...would YOU pay KBB value for your own car?

Well, you answered the trivia question correctly. The Geo/Chevy Prizm was the Corolla rebadge. The Geo/Chevy Metro was also the Suzuki Swift and Chevy Sprint/Pontiac Firefly (Canada). The 1995 Geo Metro was the first GM car sold in the US with standard daytime running lamps.

Number one, stop taking things I say. Number two, you're exactly right when you say "in your heart" its worth way more than $500. In my heart, my car is worth exactly what I paid for it. In my dad's heart, his is worth at least $15,000. Reality, though, dictates otherwise. You state your car has numerous missing parts, ill-fitting parts, and some random mechanical issues - all of which doesn't bother you because you own it, know it, and accept it, just as I don't care that my car has been in two accidents and my father's was nearly totalled. But put yourself in the place of someone like you looking for that car. Again, how much would YOU pay for it? I can't blame anyone for not offering much for our cars because I wouldn't either if I hear the word 'accident.' The difference is - again - I know what happened, I was there when they fixed them, and I accept it. Same as how you accept your car's flaws. Now, as for the truck. You live in a rural area, right? No crap the truck sells as long as it sort of runs. Heck, even here shitbox pickups sell quicker than better-condition cars...and often for more. People who buy older half-gimp trucks like that typically do it for parts, rebuild it, or run it even more 'till it dies doing things they wouldn't use their other, better truck for. Its very different for a late-model car like yours. Its not super easy to mod - not as much as a truck or even a Civic - and there's not that much desire to do it anyway. People looking at your car want to buy it and not have many problems with it. Otherwise, they'll spend a few hundred bucks (no more than a grand) on a half-ass car that'll work for awhile before they can get a better car. I would sincerely suggest you fix those problems or try to part it out.

400hp? Whoa, you're nuts but in a very good way. How's the fuel economy with your 270hp setup? I haven't seen many modded SAABs and a few I have weren't that great. Yours, however, muy caliente. Perfect wheels. Welcome to Cheers and Gears by the way. Enjoy the forums! :)

Honestly BV, with the amount of cosmetic and mechanical problems you describe, you'd be lucky to get $500. No a/c? No horn? No ABS? Coolant leak? I don't even know why you're thinking about selling it with a missing sideview; that alone makes the car worth less mentally. Ask yourself - given all that, would you spend between $501-2000 on that car? I'd guess not. You may be better off parting it out on eBay or something. Your electronics may be worth $500 alone.

What he said. Reminds me of the Toyota rep who told Polish_Kris lower HP ratings were a result of Toyota actively detuning engines to get better fuel economy because they care about you and the environment.

The Maybach sedans have this feature that adjusts the opacity of the fixed skylight. The Cadillac Imaj concept also had a similar feature.

Why do they keep mentioning the 9-2x in every single press release? Does anyone even care that this mutt exists? And doesn't the 9-3 SportCombi practically supplant the need for the 9-2x anyway? Its a wagon and I'm pretty sure there were only two reasons why anyone even bought a 9-2x anyway - there was no other cheaper SAAB wagon and GM incentives made it a bargain. As far as the 9-5, it still needs to drop a couple bills more in price. The current MSRPs are a little much, but nothing compared to the Are-You-For-Real? pricing of the earlier 9-5s. P.S. Anything you can do, SAAB... ...I can do better... :P
-
Doesn't seem very concept-worthy to me. Kinda like how it took them so long to release the station wagon version of the 9-3.

I think the Gold Edition Intrigue is limited to wherever the guy who drives around electroplating chrome emblems stops.
-
Not obscure like that. Here's a hint: it was available in all fifty states ;). Another hit, it was rebadged as other cars, too. That really doesn't help much either, does it?
-
Noooope.
-
Not you, dude. The guy who says the odometer reading doesn't mean anything.
-
You're an idiot.

If I'm correct in my assumption, Lake Orion is one of the higher-quality plants in GM's operations. As far as the Lansing Craft Centre...are they stupid? What impact would closing Lansing even have as its the smallest (and most flexible?) GM facility? Lansing has also built many lower-run specialty vehicles, like the late-model J-car convertibles, EV1 and Eldorado.

Two great observations at the Tampa Auto Show
Flybrian replied to Flybrian's topic in Other Auto Shows
The one they had at this show was black with the neutral/tan interior, so it was a pretty awful combo. Looked like this: As a pointed out before when Azera interior shots were posted, the little things like black plastic dead plates covering unbought options, the chime speaker glaringly mounted right on the center stack, and the hillarious 1"x.5" digital clock that was identical to the one in my Elantra rental sort of zapped the glitz out of Hyundai's flagship. The lauded-in-pictures fit-n'finish also was really there with the door panel not quite lining up with the dash when the door was shut. Little things like that. An improvement to the XG350? Sure. But even the XG had some nice little touches like frameless glass and more unique taillamps. -

Mustang outsells the GTO because... 1) They're cheaper. 2) They have more equipment/powertrain variety. 3) Hertz exclusively rents them and other fine Ford products. 4) There are simply more of them to purchase. GTO was never intended to be a high-volume car. The UAW, NHTSA, and their country of origin virtually predetermined that. Perhaps why a future Chevy muscle car would lack a solid rear axle is because 95% of people who would buy them do not race them beyond whuppin' up on a 'Stang or Supra at a traffic signal.

I believe so as quite a few new GM models with navigation list it as having 'late availability.' I for one am thrilled for Lucerne. Its everything the Park Avenue almost was for thousands less.
-
So...is this a LiveJournal now?
-
What was the first GM car to be equipped with Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) as standard equipment in the US?
-
Why doesn't the price pay homage to the Geo Metro's engine and start at $993?
-
The Civic Si also uses Premium unleaded. That mileage is remarkably similar to that of my car...on a bad day.
-
Putting something expensive like aerospace titanium in a volume production car is a huge waste and everyone knows it. However, low-reflectivity aluminum would've been nicer.

Lots of interest in the Lucerne at the Tampa Auto Show, especially since a beautiful red CXS was on the turntable. Lot of people asking when it would be on the lots and alot of amazed nods at the loaded price of $38,000. Also, a far better mix of LaCrosses this year with only one well-trimmed CX 6-seater and a CXL and CXS, the latter with a hot black interior and black paint.
