  1. Looks good, man. I'm still not a fan of the greenhouse, but hey, I drive 'interesting' cars, too. BTW: I have a '98 Ford Taurus SHO now...on Gran Turismo 4. If I could, I'd name it the RegRacer.
  2. My father pulled that with me with him when we were getting our Regal and the salesman took us out for dinner.
  3. So...Dale Jr. bedding a buxom brunette in the back of his Monte Carlo?
  4. Diecast Muscle has a fabulous selection of Montes of all generations.

More buttons is more better. Ask the VW Phaeton before it goes back home.
  6. I meant vertically-centered.
  7. Its funny, because the Japanese in WWII actually experimented with biologically attacking the continental United States with plague-carrying fleas dropped from modified bombs and balloons.
  8. Ask NOS. I think his is mini. Oooooh burn. Anyway, Walt would be the first person I'd ask. He loves the lil' buggers.
  9. Since I'm the one who said it, I'll qualify it. It was meant as a tongue-in-cheek comment since BV loves the GA so much. Sort of like how when he mentions a Fiero, photos of explosions and mushroom clouds are posted. To borrow Pontiac stylists' motto, its good-intentioned ribbing. I will also add that I am serious about an Alero looking classier than a Grand Am. That's a given.
  10. Lexus dissolves in water, so, be mindful of that. Seriously. Lexus ain't going anywhere.
  11. My mistake. I believe Renault bought what amounted to about 5% of AMC in 1979 to provide some shoring-up money to the company, a percentage that gradually increased until 1983 when Renault had bought up 49% of AMC.
  12. Things are very different today than when the Japanese and Koreans started dumping their cars over here. In the 1970s, the market wasn't as saturated as it was today, fuel economy became important, and Detroit still couldn't make a decent, non-embarassing compact. Today, the market is oversaturated to the point of ridiculousness. Mitsubishi is fighting to stay here, VW maybe be iffy if major changes aren't made, Isuzu is all but finished in the U.S. and Daewoo was here as an independent for, what, three years? Plus, with dozens of new models between $9,999-14,999 being sold by reputable manufacturers and the used car market growing fatter by the day with low-mileage late-model cars for under $10,000, I can't see a compelling reason to even consider a car that can be at most a few grand less than a competitor, especially one from a new manufacturer.
  13. Just get a '92 Skylark and bolt magnesium plates on the front fascia and plow through every other car.
  14. Serious question - have you even driven a 4cyl G6 or Malibu for that matter?
  15. GM - Buick Lucerne CXS Ford - Mercury Mountaineer DCX - Dodge Charger R/T European - Used 2004 Jaguar Vanden Plas Asian - Mazda Mazda6 Sportwagon Mazda
  16. The most trailer-park-worth 70s Chrysler New Yorker EVER.
  17. Plymouth was an embarassment for the majority of its recent past with such inglorious products like... All of which were merely stripped-down, cheapened Dodges. In fact, I can't recall a truly differentiated Plymouth aside from the short-lived and ill-placed Prowler. In fact, I'll be bold and say the only worthwhile Plymouths since WWII were the pre-70s cars (Except the putrid 1961 lineup), Duster, Barracuda, and Road Runner. Its hard to be real appealing when you're known as 'Dodge...but a whole lot cheaper.'
  18. Makes me think of when Plymouth made a vehicle worth a damn...thank God they're gone.
  19. Hey, look, Chery opened their first factory... Its hard for me to believe anything this guy says because these cars that exist in China are total garbage. Look at the off-center grille badging on that random sedan with its thick black plastic backing. What refinement!
  20. Some of the newish ones (think early 2000-2003) just plain suck. As a fan of classic Simpsons, it pained me to watch the slump times. However, the past few years have been picking up again. Long live Fourth Reich Motors!
  21. The convertible is heavier so getting the power to the wheels at lower RPMs helps it scoot its drop-top butt better?
  22. DeLorean was indeed busted, but not convicted. His lawyers argued the FBI entraped him.
  23. GC is about 1/800,000th as ugly as a Durango.
  24. DCX ANNOUNCES RECORD SALES FOR AMC LINE Ambassador, Javalin at 20-year record highs
  25. See, I always thought Saturn had the great potential to spearhead the environmental side of General Motors. Just as Oldsmobile was the perennial testbed for new equipment and performance innovations, Saturn could've been GM's place to test alternative fuel technology. Its tiny lineup with one car was perfect for experimentation with early hybrids. If it fails, dump it. If it succeeds, spread it around. In fact, I could've easily seen Saturn paired with Oldsmobile as 'technology' brands - Olds showcasing new engines, new gadgets, and hot designs with Saturn leading the way in fuel economy, smart technologies, and borrowing some of Olds' styling. Both could've been the 'safe' brands, too.
