  2. Sixty, again, you unfairly call this guy the 'BIGGEST A$$HOLE EVER!!' because he trashed a second-hand mediocre car that at the time no one gave two craps about. Remember, the car was maybe 12 years old at the time, so its the equivalant of trashing a '93 DeVille or whatever today. Again, look at the site and tell me this gentleman is an 'A$$hole'.

  4. Marketing, an (until like three years ago) old, old lineup, and laughter-inducing pricing on certain models. They're getting better, although I'll always be interested to see how SAAB straddles the line between quirky but low-selling and mainstream but unoriginal.

    Figuers I've found would amount to likely under 50 total including prototypes. About 17 M12s were built among the others.
  11. That's a decision made by the purchaser. Trading in a freshly paid-off car for a hybrid is pretty foolish if your sole intention is to save some money on gas. Regardless of what the vehicle is, a more logical and fiscally responsible solution would be to drive less, drive more efficiently, or purchase a used compact in good condition that gets 30-40mpg for commuting. Of course, hybrids have other benefits like lowered emissions and that 'feel-good' emotion I suppose. I personally feel good with more cash in my pocket, but hey, that's me.

  13. Actually, according to Florida statute at least, passing is only legal if (among other things) the speed is kept at or below the speed limit at all stages of passing. Yellow also means 'slow down.'
  14. I suppose they could earn revenue electronically, but it takes the fun aspect of the pursuit out of the equation. Its something that's part of our driving culture. Imagine Smokey and the Bandit if Burt Reynolds had one of these electronic boxes in his Pontiac. Lame.

  20. Better dead than making completely insulting cars. At least Olds and even Mercury to an extent had one or two unique products during the late-70s and 1980s. Man, even Saturn had unique products. What did Plymouth offer but cheaper Dodges? So sue me, but I'm honestly mystified at the lovelorn you're showing for Plymouth, putting them in the same league as Oldsmobile, Packard, Hudson, Studebaker and all the rest. The difference between them and Plymouth was that Plymouth was from its conception the 'cheap' car brand and honestly it showed. And from what I understand, Plymouth was hanging on by a thread of varying thickness since the 1960s. As I've said, yes, a few fine cars, but for most of recent memory, nothing but junk. You really want Plymouth to be back and everyone to remember not the Fury and Roadrunner but the Breeze and Sundance?

I despise that and not necessarily for the Orwellian aspect of it, but mainly because I ask myself, "Do I trust the government to correctly install, monitor, register, and assess the proper amount of mileage tax I owe?" and I immediately answer, "No." I'll say it again because its true, we're spending how much building infrastructure overseas, including in nations where they shoot at us? These ideas are insulting in light of that. Its tantamount to the mayor telling me to stop watering my lawn and washing my car while city hall has five fountains running.
  23. For some reason, I think many loyalists will still be very attracted to this car for the simple reason that you can get a V8 with bench seats. Their Roadmasters are at least a decade old by now.
  24. Remember the Camry commerical where the middle-aged chicks are checking out the middle-aged guy in his Camry because it shouts STABILITY and RELIABILITY? I'm surprised your wife didn't tear you apart when you pulled up with it the first day, man.
  25. Let me rain on the parade by saying taxing hybrids and other efficient cars because they use less gasoline and therefore contribute less to the fuel tax base is illogical and nonsensical. Keep in mind, guys, this isn't some anti-Prius bill here; this would mean perhaps a sliding scale of taxing cars with more efficient vehicles paying more. Penalize those who save gas? Does that even make sense. I think it would be wonderful to get to a point where we as a country use so much less fuel that the Department of Transportation can't survive on present gas tax revenue alone...don't you? That means we're reducing our consumption of oil. A more logical alternative would be to raise the tax or, as I alluded to, stop spending money needlessly building infrastructure for people who don't care.
