  1. What if one of the oil companies was in trouble? Yeah. I guess the Inuguration Edition Tundra made all the difference, huh, George? You say this jokingly but remember, this is the same cat who's going to be flown around in a Eurocopter EH101 instead of an American Sikorsky, so I can't say this surprises me.
  2. Meh. Myself, if I saw a great deal on a 5-speed Alero instead of a Grand Am, I wouldn't pass it up. You're talking 90% the same exact car.
  3. No worse than that Godawful wagon you had. If I wanted to look at boxes, I'd go to a warehouse.
  4. Where's Enclave?
  5. Pioneer of the assembly line and (probably not it) he bought 30,000 acres north of Tampa Bay and founded the town of Oldsmar a few miles north of me as a resort community. He's Ransom E. Olds and if his spirit lives on today, then he can help me find cheap replacement center caps for my Olds... Oh, he also founded Oldsmobile and REO after that. I guess those are givens, though.
  6. Why does that look better than production?

If I were an agent working for comissions, I'd recommend a Suzuki Samurai with puffy offroad tires.
  8. Here's the culprit...
  9. Seriously...that's just not outstandingly anything.
  10. Because Cadillac has always been more affordable than everyone else. Not, 'cheaper,' but more affordable. That makes the difference. Very few Cadillacs in the past IMO really commanded the extremely high price they were asking, the '57 Eldorado Brougham and Northstar Allante are among them.
  11. That...is...awesome. World of Motion x1,000,000
  12. Ohh...kay?
  13. Where did the name Mercedes come from? The daugther of one of the distributors. I believe this also helped avoid legal problems because the Daimler name was used for other vehicles overseas? The Japanese are known for their American transplant operations, but they weren't the first to do this. Where in the United States did Rolls-Royce build cars? Massachusetts or New York.
  14. What?! j/k
  15. Yeah...yeah, we need cash. Period.

I look at that, look at this... ...and even in that bad color, my mind is made up. Oh, and better economy, cheaper price and almost as much room(!!)
  17. Start the XLR at $69,995 instead of $77,295 and the XLR-V at $84,295 including guzzler tax. That's a good $30,000 undercut of the SL500 and $5,000 from the Jag and a whole $40,000 under an SL55. That's motivation.

Having not driven one, I can only point to review saying it drives rather harshly. I wouldn't be surprised. However, what I can comment on is the gobs of plastic on the exterior (bad, IMO), the interior as you pointed out, and the price in light of a superior 3er wagon.
  19. I suppose the irony of my post in light of this thread has been lost...

I find it interesting that the same company can build one of the best SUVs and one of the worst only a few years apart.
  21. Best thing to happen to the Yugo plant, depicted thusly...
  22. Can't argue with such candor. Guess we should all abide by your sig a bit more.
  23. A late-80s Trooper towing a trailer made out of the rear of a late-80s Trooper.
  24. Sorry to tell you, but in no way is a stock normally-aspirated 3800 II Riviera faster than a stock 4.0 Aurora.
