1. Even harder to find one with NAV. I'm not sure about the distribution of it, but I've seen many 2nd-gen Auroras on the 'net and in real life and never, ever glimpsed one with GPS...and I've seen a few Final 500s even. Its a lovely car for sure. Because it was originally meant to be an Eighty-Eight successor carrying the 'Antares' name, it lacks some of the sheer uniqueness of the Classics. Regardless, it carries itself extrodinarily well and I would still say they look better than the majority of the cars sold new today, especially large sedans. Great engine, great looks, great interior, great chassies, and also quite unique. Oh, and, *ahem* Its Aurora V8 power from an engine based off the Northstar. This is the Aurora owners' 'Camero' or 'Bimmer/Beamer' if you will.
2. It did. Reese won herself 'Best Actress'
3. What? The whole steel industry has gone gay. Aerospace, too.
4. Full Article @ IIHS
5. Agreed. Walk the Line deserves a shot.
6. So, it'll be highway robbery to you.
7. Heh, let me elaborate before you lock me up. Sure, he's funny and he has his moments, but his schtick on The Daily Show seems to be the same thing repeated ad nauseum... *Roll out a story *Make glib comments about the story *Punctuate a weak joke by imitating some famous past celeb's mannerisms. *Engage in a desperately ironic tet-a-tet with one of the many unfunny correspondents ("Surely there's nothing wrong with lying about WMDs and spending billions and years and hundreds of lives, is there Jon?") *<Insert random celeb du jour here> *Weak banter with studio audience *Roll out 'Moment of Zen,' which was a Kilborn thing that has no meaning now. About the only moments of saving grace are Lewis Black's occasional spot and the lead-in for The Colbert Report. I really loved the show back in the day and I miss Craig Kilborn, whose self-indulgence made it even funnier. I also miss alot of the original correspondants like A. Whitney Brown, Brian Unger, Ed Helms, Mo Rocca, Beth Littleford and the old segements like Even Steven/Stephen with Colbert and Carell and Frank DeCaro's 'Out at the Movies.' I absolutely love The Colbert Report, though. It truly gets the funny back in that news satire and you should definitely check it out if you haven't.
8. I really don't see a corrolation between this thread and the OUTLOOK story. Seriously. I have some straws here for you to try and grab.
9. People always bitch about everything. This doesn't faze me nor should it faze anyone. Edmunds spent a whole paragraph of a ten-paragraph review describing how my car's cupholder flipped out when you close the center console as if that made a rat's ass.
10. Oscars Schoscars. I can see the realtime results on IMDB. Jon Stewart is hosting, too, and God help me but I do not find that man funny.
11. And even if it did, whoop-de-do. You would think making a large coupe, a sedan, or even a truck or SUV perform equal to or better than the Corvette would be a mark of achievement, even for GM. But no... I have no problem with Chevrolet being full line, they need to be. However, those in charge should never forget that Pontiac and Buick always need to offer something better than a plain Chevy.
12. One thing we need to ditch pronto is this 'Corvette needs the most hp' bull$h!.
13. No, this is about the epitomy of MySpace
14. Welcome to one of Cheers and Gears' newest features - C&G Drives. This is where you can find an ever-growing selection of vehicle reviews written by our staff and members like you. Doesn't matter if your Impala is an '06 or a '66 or if your Lancer was made by Dodge or Mitsubishi, we'd love your reviews. Reviews will be classified into these groups: Short-term Reviews - rentals, a brief synopsis of a test drive, or a quick review Long-term Reviews - more detailed owner reviews with updates every month or so. Special Reviews - If you get the opportunity to take a vintage, classic, or rare car for a spin and want to write about the experience, go for it. Pictures are also welcome. When writing a review, remember what you like to read in one (besides that your car is fantastic). Make it fun but informative and be creative. Also, a dab of professionalism and honesty is always nice. For long-term reviews, try to include other details such as mileage, fuel economy, repairs and their cost in every update. Remember, these will be helpful to others interested in your car. Reviews submitted may be edited for formatting reasons. Allrighty, good luck in your writings! -Brian
15. Absolutely not. This is for everyone who wants to contribute to do so about any car. If you want to do a long-term of your Canyon, that would be very awesome, especially with an update every month or so on new problems, observed MPG, service costs (if any), etc.
16. Oh, c'mon, an '07 what?
17. In Florida, but similar situations have happened. Bert Smith Oldsmobile where our 1979 LeSabre was from used to be Olds and a limited VW outlet. Now, their main showroom is BMW/Subaru/Porsche/MINI/Volkswagen and their old Diesel Center across US19 is their 'prestige collection.' Lokey Oldsmobile was a fixture of Clearwater for decades, the first Olds retailer in the area in 1952 I believe and also where the first Saturn ever was sold. This is where our '87 Toro and my '96 Aurora also originally came from. After Olds closed, it became Lokey Mitsubishi with Lokey Saturn where Lokey Used Olds used to be across Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. Now, Lokey Saturn is using the Olds showroom and Mitsu is housed in a double-wide portable trailer (where it should be), but they've since concentrated on Lokey Nissan/Kia/VW miles north. Scott Buick closed its St. Petersburg satellite location a few years ago, and Stone/Dick Norris Buick closed the original downtown location ~2000. However, its a B-P-GMC franchise and they've recently purchased an old Sunset/Autoway Pontiac-GMC location, so that's encouraging.
18. Even more new features like: GM Resources/Guides - an ever-expanding up-to-date collection of platform, drivetrain, and miscellaneous information. C&G Design Showcase - Featuring all past winners of our design competitions. Garage - Upload pictures of your cars in our C&G Reader's Rides photo album.
19. I just remember the e-mail I was privy to that said how he would never return to C&G if Josh and/or I were still here in any capacity and how the site was so lame and pathetic because it lacked his presence. I also remember him mocking everyone 30 or under, saying (ironically) that all the gay discussions irritated him, harassing members for no reason, and posting stuff about them and us in general on other forums. If its about respect, well, @ Harry.
20. BV is here but infrequently as of late. I'll let him answer questions as to why if he chooses.
