  1. If its a 4-banger, its tiny -Signed, a V8 owner.
  2. I'd like to interject that Ducktales rocked as it was realistic except for the world filled with ducks and dogs.
  3. Pondering it some more, I would think that would be it. One is asking alot out of a tiny engine that's taxed with driving as well as cooling a rather large, heavily-glazed cabin on a scorching day. My question then becomes - did the a/c ever leave you wanting for more? Did it keep you comfortable?
  4. The Aveo is only outclassed in fuel economy. Now, I do realize economy is the lynchpin for this segment, but all it needs is a more efficient engine. The rest of the package, from content to int/ext styling to performance to value, is all there in the '07 redesign. And one could almost excuse the Big Three for failing at homegrown tiny cars because outside of the past two or three years, there was never a significant market for subcompacts outside of the cheap and the poor. Even Toyota failed with the Echo, which was probably the most embarassing and pile-of-crap car you could buy this side of a Fiesta.
  5. I feel bad for Reg, too. You hit his Diamante.
  6. Is it possible the whining could've be caused by the air compressor working overtime in the hot weather?
  7. I know alot of us don't like Buickman, but please, regardless of what Deftones is feeling, that's not going to solve it.
  8. If you're really interested, its a good buy. Depreciation killed the American large luxury car, so you can pick up a Classic with 50-70k miles for around $5-8k, and even less mileage on a 2nd-gen 3.5l Shortstar or 4.0l.
  9. I think they just have whatever comes with the CV Incerceptor Package, nothing special. We do have some weird squad cars in general, though. Bellair Beach PD has three brand-new Expeditions. Period. Its a town of like 185 though. Largo has/had Tauruses with bike racks; those made me laugh. And my town, Clearwater, just got ahold of a half dozen of these... Ehhhhhffffff no. Are you for real? You know how much money Geico and General Motors has put into this car? Twice is value likely. Twice the value! Plus, I love 'er. No, this will be a third car for the family, as mentioned time and again in the past. We're now leaning towards a Buick PA Ultra.
  10. Pinellas County Sheriffs Office has a mixed fleet of Vics, '05 Impalas, and a handful of Intrepids. Anyone engaging in a high-speed pursuit here is a fool because we're the highest-density county in the state and a peninsula to boot, so four of the five main roads out of the county are bridges. I had a nice conversation with a Clearwater PD officer who pretty much told me they'll let a pursuee have his fun until he gets on one of the bridges; then he doesn't get off. Not in his car anyway. I'd say a good 80%+ of police work involves more sitting around with the engine running than pursuing, so a 3800 Impy that's good on gas is a good investment. Word is we may be getting some Hemi Chargers. Osceola County south of Orlando has '06 Impys already. Look nice. But no fear, FHP still has a few 9C1 Caprices and real badass Camaros. Saw a pack of six of them cruising somewhere over the weekend on I-4 at about 80-90mph. So freakin' cool.
  11. So, that's why I can't find 21 Jump Street on TV anymore...
  12. That was unnecessary as well. C'mon. In all seriousness, autobras suck and I actually had a near identical conversation to a friend of mine with a 9-3 who was considering a bra for his car, too. I said what I said the exact same way and meant it because alot of people just don't realize that the costs of bra-ing your car aren't worth it, imo. P.S. Scooby-Doo can do-do, but Jimmy Carter is smarter.
  13. Any Caprice found would be pretty old and up there in mileage. Plus, the 3400 Impala I had for a week as a rental got very good mileage both in town and on the highway. Just thoughts running through my mind since the Olds will be paid off very, very soon...
  14. You do know that bras not only damage your cars finish but makes your paint fade unevenly, don't you? I'd look into what Nick mentioned or something like 3M's Scotchguard Paint Protection Film before using a skanky-looking bra.
  15. I can put a Fit in my trunk, next to a Yaris.
  16. My Aurora has style, can seat five, and isn't called 'Fit'. That last one alone makes it all worthwhile.
  17. Or something like it. Check out the interior. Crazy. 2002 Chevrolet Impala 9C1 This place is local, so I may check out their stuff one day. Though if I ever do get one, I need a spotlight and an antenna farm on the back just to be cool.
  18. No, Ocn's name is Bill and the other guy is Ryan. Are you paying any attention?
  19. Well, it did have a point - that being retaining low-line Olds buyers (Achieva/Cutlass Ciera) until the new Alero came through. As a vehicle, yeah, it was rather pointless.
  20. Just...don't end up throwing socket sets and tie rods at each other. Seriously, maybe its just me, but I don't see the big deal of it all. Chili's sucks anyway.
  21. Well, for old people, they're sensible. For the commuter or urban dweller, they're sensible. Otherwise, they're junk. I just don't understand why anyone would desire cars like the Fit and others in its class. They're small, ugly, and slow and, no, driving a slow car fast is not fun; its irritating both to one's sense of punctuality and to one's hearing.
  22. With the Cutlass Cruiser and Escort wagons far out of production, what else are old folks going to buy?
  23. After nearly a decade of truly lackluster performance, the 1987 FWD Bonneville revived that nameplate's performance image - and won numerous awards doing so. Its not as cut-and-dried as RWD vs. FWD; its about doing it correctly.
  24. Sequoia is a lame duck. Its like throwing the Civic up against the Sentra and decalring Sentra the winner. Zero credibility in that statement. Am I wrong in thinking the LRS is more about performance while the GL and Escalade are more a blend of luxury and performance?
  25. Where's Neil Diamond? Hot August night And the leaves hanging down And the grass on the ground smelling sweet Move up the road To the outskirts of Flint And the sound of that good gospel beat There in a parking lot On his old Century Standing on the roof Shouting to you and me It's Jim Dollinger’s Buickman Traveling Salvation Show Pack up the babies And grab the old ladies And everyone goes 'Cause everyone knows Buickman's show
