  1. 1988 Toyota Celica "Real head turner some people don't know what to think!!" -Truer words were never spoken... 1987 Yugo GL
  2. "Must be one of those American robot cars..."
  3. I love driving in the rain, in the early morning, through the city, fast on the highways, slow on the backroads... But my absolute favorite is in the cool autumn twilight with the windows down after an evening out with my girl, driving her home with her head softly resting on my shoulders and her arms embracing mine. Nothing could be nicer...
  4. What you do for the interim is buy some piece-of-$h!, decrepit Tempo that's already faded, rusted, and scratched. Next time the bitch drops by, joke's on her.
  5. Let's tally up her scorecard: Cobalt SS: Malibu SS: Impala/MC SS: 50/50 Silverado SS: slight Trailblazer SS: SSR: How does this vary much from what most of us have said, that the Cobalt packs a punch, the Malibu has the show but needs more go and a stick, Impala/MC have it all but RWD and intimidating looks, the Silverado needs to be a single-cab shortbed 2wd monster, the Trailblazer is a rockin', mean bargain that's akin to a more livable and updated Typhoon, and the SSR would've been brilliant at $5k less and with that much power at intro but is still a fascinating vehicle. This ain't Kentucky Friedman; this is an intelligent man who is actually saying what needs to be said. Kudos to him. And maybe GM will listen.
  6. I've seen some 300s like that. Its very lame on an already wishy-washy car. But I've actually seen them on an Aztek. Once. And never again. Wish I had my camera.
  7. Um. I meant 'desireable' in 'wanting.' I don't want a Mercedes because everyone W.A.C. has one. Its meaningless anymore when you're sitting at an intersection and there's a C-Class next to you, a C-Class behind you, an E-Class across the street from you, and another C-Class making a turn in front of you. Good luck getting those windows fixed when they screw up somehow. Like None Other.
  8. Because it really, really looks better.
  9. I assume its push n' hold for at least 10 or so seconds, which only makes sense. Ask Enterprise? Speaking of remote start, a former classmate of mine has an older ES300 with aftermarket remote start. He still has to hit the button about three time for the car to crank over. Note to self - remote start does not substitute for a starter!
  10. Boooo!
  11. Bah you know what I mean. The emblem in chrome thing.
  12. No, seriously. When do we get to see the next CR-V? Dear everyone, stop doing this...
  13. I like Allpar. Good site. Am I the only one who doesn't find Mercedes desireable?
  14. Enzl, I think if you review the thread, you'll find the vast majority of comments are purely humorous with no intrinsic analysis beyond that. Not critically picking on, just jokinging picking on.
  15. With Canada, we share a common language, similar heritage, culture, and (most importantly in this sense) financial state. Mexico has historically been wrought with ill-suited leadership, shaky fiscal policies, and a generally unstable government. Of course, there is the cultural/language disparity, but that would be simple to bridge if Mexico were on equal political footing with us.
  16. Let the bitching begin! j/k glad to hear it. I'm sure it'll look simply awesome next to the C6.
  17. I think its pretty clear our realtionship with Canada is alot different than it is with Japan, Korea, India, and even Mexico. Our proximity, common history, and shared brotherhood makes all the difference when it comes to the emotional aspect of what we're talking about. I know many Canadians that consider a GM or Ford as much a domestic car as if it were an indigenous make and of course Americans consider a car a domestic regardless if its built in Oshawa or Lake Orion. I understand what everyone is saying about globalization, etc, but ignoring the significant difference between the US-Canadian and US-_____ realtionship is ignoring a lot.
  18. Imagine a scenario where your home's excess power generation from roof-mounted solar panels is used to power your vehicle and your house with a small amount being sold back to your local power grid. Cars are now close to being a free good.
  19. OMG TEHY DIDNT INTEGRATIATE TEH KEYLESS WITH TEH KEY IM TOTALY NOT BUYIN IT NOW IT RUINS TEH CAR 4 SHIZZ !!!``!1`1`1``1~! CADDI IS TEH SUX NOW Maybe people will buy it because it outperforms almost all the other vehicles in this segment. Haven't we heard that justification before for the poor material quality in Nissan, godawful ergonomics in Infinitis, lousy iDrive in BMW, and shotgun-of-buttons-fired-aimlessly-at-the-dash layout of many VWs, Audis, and apparently the new MDX? That they drive well, so that makes up for it?
  20. C'mon, you don't find Honda's new Really Active Fuel Management funny at all?
  21. I have a feeling alot of younger people my age who buy BMWs would buy Abercrombie & Fitch hamburgers. There are those that value what the BMW/Mercedes/etc heritage means and those that value the badge; those proportions are alot closer than you'd like.
  22. I can only hope that the real V-22 will perform as well as yours does. The Air Force all but cancelled their once-large order and it seems to becoming more and more of a Marine Corps pet project. Back in the winter of '00, our MCJROTC battalion took a trip to MCAS Cherry Point and New River. We walked through one of the Ospreys that later crashed and also the crew, who died with it. Sad, especially because the '46 and '53 crews love their old choppers and, though they didn't say so (obviously), they seemed to wish for more upgrades than the V-22.
  23. Holy crap. I think C&G members may be responsible for 3% of this month's retail sales! Moved to Member's Rides Showcase for all to enjoy. Welcome, Walc! Absolutely beautiful color combination, by the way - red on white riding on chrome. How is the trunk space with the top up/down? Is access easy? Be ready for countless questions!
  24. I can tell this is totally ficition because the V-22 is operational! Interesting. As a true fan of this genre, I'm liking what I'm reading so far and I do look forward to more. I especially appreciate the accuracy so far without getting too caught up in the jargon. I've read too many novels that made me feel like a total genius (B-52 Flying Fortress?) and or a total idiot (the oscilliscope does what?!).
  25. You don't know how many places I illegally parked when I had my gray '05 Impy rental.
