Wasn't the old L300 tested on the Nuerburgring?

Like I said before, its the new world standard in livery sedans. The sound system, the parking apparatus, the f-in ottoman in the rear - its all built for a rider, not a driver. That said, I'd love to have one take me to the airport, but I see nothing that would motivate me to purchase such a car and I would certainly waste none of my time driving it; I'd rather ditz around with the stereo in the back.

Choppin' Competition #26 - GM Special Service

Three days left! MDM, I'm surprised you haven't come up with one! -
Welcome to Sketch Competition #9! As of late, there have been many rumors concerning what we'll call B-Series Cadillacs, namely the BLS and BRX. While the future of an American BLS is up in the air, the presence of a smaller, sub-SRX crossover carrying the BRX nameplate is more certain. Word has it that it will share some subcomponants with the next-generation Theta VUE and Equinox, but beyond that, who knows...? Well, maybe you do. Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to design Cadillac's BRX crossover. Your sketch should include at minimum 2 (two) of the following: -3/4 Front View -3/4 Rear View -Interior View Remember, people will be voting based on the overall presentation of your entry, so the more views, the better, including ones not specifically listed above. Also, if you want to include special features, by all means point them out! Aside from 800x600 size guidelines, remember this must be a Cadillac vehicle. All indications so far point to a size smaller than the SRX. Look at crossovers such as the Acura RDX and BMW X3 for sizing. Interpretation of Cadillac design cues is entirely up to you. Be creative and include some great innovations befitting Cadillac if you can. The winner will recieve a Cadillac-related prize! **DEADLINE EXTENDED!!** Deadline is Friday, Sept 15th @ 11:59PM your local time. Good luck!

Could've written "Sorstice" Anyway, the Solstise is export-only, sort of like the Buick Encalve.

I think in this situation, mass production refers to the technique and technology as well as the actual amount produced. I'd give the trophy to Olds not knowing how Locomobile or whatever the hell made their cars.

Um...you can't digitally remaster the emblems and text at least?

Saturn Has Dual Hybrid Vue Strategy Link to Original Article @ The Car Connection Even as it rolls out its first gasoline-electric vehicle, General Motors' Saturn division is laying out plans for an unusual dual-hybrid strategy. The Vue Green Line is Saturn's first hybrid-electric vehicle. Sold as a $2000 option, it is not only GM's first non-truck hybrid, but also one of the market's most affordable. The Green Line is what some call a "mybrid," or "mild" hybrid, among other things meaning it does not have the capability of running on battery power alone. But a more advanced and feature-laden hybrid system is now under development, part of a joint venture between GM, DaimlerChrysler and BMW. This two-mode system is expected to reach production status about the time Saturn rolls out the next-generation version of the Vue, late in calendar year 2007. At that point, the GM division plans to offer both the mybrid version of the crossover, as well as a two-mode hybrid version of the Vue, explains the marque's general manager, Jill Lajdzick. "One will be very cost competitive," she explains, while the other "will be more aggressive (in terms of capabilities) and will come in at a higher price point." Lajdzick admits the dual-hybrid strategy could prove a little confusing to potential customers, but she believes that it will ultimately play well in a market where price is critical, but "fuel economy will remain top-of-mind."-Paul A. Eisenstein ------------------ I suspect this means the BAS Green Line VUE 'Classic' will be produced along with the new dual-mode VUE?

I think the point here is big deal. This isn't passing a damn thing along to the customers that the dealership management can't do themselves. How about spending a little bit less on stupid promotions?

Great videos. Thanks for sharing!

A CRX, condition notwithstanding, is a very destitute car. No matter where you're going, it looks like you're heading to or from social services to pick up your welfare check. You may as well get a Ford Festiva because at least you don't have to even get out of the car to fill the tank (I've seen someone do just that). MX-3s are more original and Preludes can look good. Problem is finding a decent, unmolested, unf@#kedup one.

I would think manufacturing techniques alone would render many of the integral components unique over the course of times.

Again, I think this particular aspect of noise reduction is much in the ear of the beholder. We can all agree that wind and roadnoise are detrimental, intrusive, and not part of a rewarding driving experience in all but an open cockpit roadster. Engine noise, however, is obviously subjective. Some (myself included) love to hear it when appropriate. Others wish to silence it altogether. I think hearing a healthy roar is part of owning a powerful car; others believe hearing even silence throughout is part of owning a powerful car. Even the Buick fans themselves are split on this preference. So who's right? Who's wrong? No one. Again, this is a preference and part of what seperates Buick from Lexus, IMO. I do not want Buicks rigged for ultra quiet the way a Lexus is. If I wanted near total isolation, I'd gladly buy a Lexus. In the same way, I don't want a CTS to handle exactly like a 3er; I don't want a GTO to be quite as 'refined' as a G35. These little differences make different vehicles unique. Asking me, many a-great car has suffered by trying to be just like xxx when they shouldn't be. Individualism reigns over assimilation, or at least I'd hope. As far as Sajeev's editorial, I disagree with his conclusions, but I find nothing inherently 'unfair' with it. He did what any decent reviewer (should) do; reported the facts first and foremost, then punctuated with his opinion.

"This is a head turning, eye popping, one of a kind all around fun car. It was bought new by my in-laws and recently given to me since I have 2 teenages to be used as a third car. This is my 3rd pimp job [sadly] and by far my best work [ORLY?]. However, my daughter says it has too big of a blind spot since I welded the rear doors shut [smart girl], my son is too embarrassed to ride in it [smart boy] and my wife tolerates it but will not drive it [smart wife]. (I did put a"I love my Wife" sticker on the bumper to ease the tension)" Ready? You sure? Okay... 1986 Buick : Electra
