Saab vehicles added to GM Mobility program GM celebrates Disability Awareness Month by expanding program for equipment reimbursement and extended OnStar service DETROIT – General Motors today announced that it has added the entire line of Saab vehicles to its GM Mobility program. Customers who now purchase or lease any new 2007 or 2008MY Saab vehicle and install or reinstall eligible adaptive mobility equipment can receive a combination of financial assistance and the protection and convenience of OnStar. All GM brands are now part of the program, and include Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, HUMMER, Pontiac and Saturn. The GM Mobility Program was launched in 1991 to assist people with disabilities with their transportation needs. Under the terms of the program, GM reimburses customers up to $1,000 when they buy or lease a new GM vehicle and adapt it with one or more of the 35 eligible aftermarket mobility equipment modifications such as hand controls, scooter hoists, OnStar TTY equipment or wheelchair lifts. Customers who receive reimbursement on OnStar-equipped vehicles also get two extra years of standard OnStar service. Since the first year of OnStar service is included on all new OnStar-equipped GM vehicles, GM Mobility customers get three years of OnStar service with their purchase. "Saab has hundreds of thousands of loyal owners – and now family caregivers, seniors, and people who have limited mobility can enjoy the safety, technology and performance that are hallmarks of Saab vehicles, said John Gaydash, director of marketing for GM Fleet and Commercial Operations ." "We can’t think of a better way to help celebrate October as Disability Awareness Month than to add Saab to the GM Mobility program." With OnStar, available on more than 50 GM vehicles including all Saab vehicles, subscribers have direct access to safety and security features such as 24-hour emergency assistance, remote door unlock, stolen vehicle location assistance and Hands-Free Calling, which allows drivers to make and receive hands-free voice activated calls through a nationwide cellular network.

Elsewhere, people have pointed to the 'low' base price of the 300/Charger while ignoring the junk base models. I just wanted to nip it in the bud. -

The grille didn't make this car ugly before. The entire car made this car ugly. It also has a small trunk and resembles a fat woman riding a bicycle. -

Rare Pininfarina Corvette Heading for Barrett-Jackson Link to Original Article @ CorvetteBlogger We are about 100 days out from January's Barrett-Jackson's Collector Car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona and details are beginning to emerge about some of the "talent" that will be hitting the auction block. Corvettes are always well represented and that should remain the case despite plans to cut back the number of vehicles from around 1,200 to 1,000. One of the cars expected at January's event is this one-of-a-kind 1963 Rondine Corvette, a car that was hand-built by renowned Italian coach builder Pininfarina for the 1963 Paris Auto Show. Built on the newly introduced 1963 Corvette chassis, this steel-bodied car contained many styling cues that showed up later in the Fiat 124 Spyder. The Corvette has remained in the hands of Painifarina since its introduction and has been displayed at various events including the 2005 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este as part of the coachbuilder's 75th anniversary. Barrett-Jackson's CEO Craig Jackson declined to estimate the value of the Rondine Corvette, other than to say it is worth "lots". "Two bidders will determine that," he said. "It's an American in an Italian suit" is how Steve Davis, Barrett-Jackson's President described the Corvette. Whatever the final gavel price may be, Corvette fans following the auction will be sure to do a double-take when this gem is introduced.

GM deal leaves 15 factories pondering future

I don't understand why Wentzville's future would be shaky. GM should be owning the fullsize van market because the Econoline is garbage on 15" steelies. -
