I feel the Patriot can get away with cheapness more than the Compass can. Remember, the Compass is designed for the hip, discerning urbanite who likes to bounce his Jeep on the New York streets. I find the lack of power windows in a base Compass to be pathetic.

I'd just post pretty much what you've told us. Its a wonderful gift idea and I certainly hope a company that has a stock of classic cars can appreciate the sentiment.

I just got my copy today straight from GM. Here's the link: Setting the Pace Almost 500pgs. Lot of color photos, illustrations, historical stuff. Chronicles many of the neat stories behind the cars that were made. Pretty much the whole N-body development is detailed. Great item for the GM and Olds fan and cheaper than I've seen it elsewhere. Plus, they're brand-new, so quality is guaranteed.

I doubt Honda intends to compete with the big boys in the pickup field. They're witness to how much Nissan and Toyota are spending to fight for what is essentially a greater portion of the same small piece of pie. Honda's future success will come from exploiting the niche gaps in the existing market as well as their traditional Accord/Civic success.

Finalists for the 2007 North American Truck of the Year award are the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford Edge and Mazda CX-7. The finalists for both awards were announced today here. The winners will be named Jan. 7, at the start of press preview days for the North American International Auto Show. The finalists were culled from a candidate pool of 12 cars and 14 trucks. The finalists were determined by the votes of 49 auto journalist jurors. The jury includes Automotive News Executive Editor Edward Lapham and Senior Writer Dale Jewett, and AutoWeek Editor Dutch Mandel and Road Test Editor Natalie Neff. Both publications are owned by Crain Communications Inc. In a new procedure for the 2007 awards, jurors will vote a second time to choose a winner from among the three finalists in each category. In previous years, the top three vote getters in each category were named finalists, with the top vote-getting vehicle named the winner.

In any case, Christianity isn't foolish and neither is not believing in Christianity. Whatever brings you satisfaction and comfort in life is what you should follow and if you choose to 'spread the word' to others, do it in a manner that respects that other people may be just as devout in their differing beliefs. The vast majority of organized religion, spirituality, and plain good manners in the world has one common thread - treat others as you would have other treat you. I think if we all wake up and realize humanity is the pillar of who we are, we'd be a far more peaceful society.

The car will run just fine without the supercharger if that become inop for some reason. The dealer overgreased or poorly-attached our Bonnie's s/c belt and it flew off a few times. One thing many don't realize is that the s/c's oil does need to be changed now and then. -
ACURA UNVEILS NEW RDX RALLY EDITION "Consumption is the key," says Colliver December 12, 2006 -- TORRANCE, Calif. -- Acura takes center stage again by unveiling a prototype of the RDX Rally, a high-consumption variant of its RDX small crossover. "The RDX Rally is Acura's most serious attempt at racing yet," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president, sales. "With the introduction of this revolutionary new rally vehicle, we not only borrow from the legendary racing heritage of the NSX but completely ignore it by going offroad with a crossover SUV." Similar to the RDX introduced several months ago and currently on sale, the RDX Rally brings offroad features to the street. Adding to its already large portfolio of standard equipment, the RDX Rally includes a limited edition two-tone Lemon Yellow/OMG BLU! paint scheme, RALLY badging, and a selection of crooked factory-applied decals. "That [misalignment] is a bit of an 'oops'" said Colliver, "but whatever." Though a newcomer to the rally racing scene, Acura is anxious to discuss its racing strategy. "Since [the RDX] isn't really designed for offroad usage," admits Wayne Lafontaine, vice president of Honda Motorsports, "some claim that puts us at a disadvantage. We put years of Honda and Acura technologies into this vehicle. Audi has Quattro; we have 'Shawed' or whatever its called. Subaru has been in this game for a long time and they say they can hold onto their record and that we stole their paint scheme. To which I say, records are made to be broken. And their colors aren't trademarked. F**k their [subaru's] mothers." Lafontaine goes on to describe a major advantage the RDX Rally has over the incumbants. "Our RDX averages 11 miles per gallon. Yeah. ELEVEN! As in LESS THAN TWELVE! We figure if we burn all the gas provided at the race course, we'll naturally win." As a symbol of their 'Consumption' strategy, Team RDX has signed on Amerada Hess, Royal Dutch Shell, Citgo, and the nation of Saudi Arabia as their sponsors. They have also chosen the number 11 as their vehicle's number, signifying the maximum mileage ever recorded for an RDX. The RDX Rally will never be available for purchase. Regfootball has preordered them all.

The '97 looked tons better. I'd say the '04 looked about on par with the Camry in terms of integration, in other words, both were poorly-integrated in their own way. While the Camry was okay on the upper dash, the lower portion that flowed into the center console, well, didn't flow at all. Plus, it had an ugly radio with an ugly display The Malibu looks literally pieced together - dash and console installed first, then the center stack, but at least it lined up evenly. It also had an ugly radio, but the display matched the dash lights. The Malibu's problem visually is that the center stack looks tacked on afterwards like a Testor's kit. If GM would've made it one piece, I'd say it looks way better than the offcenter Camry dash, especially looking at the SS color scheme, which 'integrates' the black radio units by virtue of its color. Lastly, the 'Bu's center console ownzorz the Camry's hands down. Not only is it symmetrical with the dash, there's no big dumb handbrake on a car with a 90%+ automatic transmission build rate and the under-dash opening is useful. In the Camry, its so deep little things just fall out of reach. This speaks nothing of quality because I never said a thing about quality, though pretty much everyone can agree that Toyota built a pretty $h!ty Camry for their standards and a below-average car by everyone else's.

Honestly, most low-end cars of this era look alike, much like Japanese cars of the 80s and 90s and none of them look real good. There's a '55 Starchief coupe in decent shape for sale locally for $8000 that's about 1,000,000x more desireable than this.
