Yes Aisin-Warner was a collaboration, but that has been long gone.

Forget Lexus, Panamera and Cayenne are equipped with 8 speed Aisins. Aisin has worked closely with GM before, has a manufacturing facility in IN, and proving grounds in MI. and it is the largest manufacturer of transmissions in the world. It was also awarded as supplier of the year for 2006 by GM.

That was an error on my side. As far as Caprice fiasco - there was a loophole in the process where civilians could buy the vehicles that was later realized and closed by GM, but few escaped into the hands of people anyways. Dfelt, if such is the case then it is good, but I fail to see why GM would pose that language on its website. Most sales GM would like to have come from companies that are focused on the CNG market who would then get the vehicle for a customer from the fleet sales person but that adds another layer of cost that I do not see as needed. So as the GM LinkedIn group said, just go see the fleet sales person to buy one. What do you mean? An individual going through his company that is CNG focused which in turn will approach a fleet sales person and then procure the vehicle?

Not True at all, the local GM dealership in the Seattle area are already selling these to the public. This is great for the fleets. These trucks rock and this is the right step to get America off imported oil. I hope this does not end up being the Caprice fiasco.

Prevention is better than cure. Corvettes have been notorious for throwing debris from the tracks around those locations. I have no clear bra hence the painter's tape.

The truck will be only available for government/utilities fleet customers. Not common people, at least that is the fine print on build and price.

My heart wants a Grand Sports, but my brain says it will not be possible, and my significant other will push me on the street. Z06?

Beautiful weather, great old coast guard base runway, 505 hp humming and 275/345 tires burning = Life is good.

The car is not actually bad to drive. It only needs a 140hp model from Sonic for making it even more fun. Compared to Fiat, I found this one better driver and way better than Scion and Smart.

Dude, it is a great idea. Many friends with who I autocross/race with have done on their vehicels - C3 through C6. A friend with a 2009 Z06 has it too. The car is supposed to be not designed for towing, but with 4 tires and trailer weight you are looking at ~400 lbs. Just be judicious on the interstate. Either you get a dedicated truck with a trailer or you hitch to your car. Second is cheaper. Good Luck.

Should GM build a "Premium" version of the LT1 for Cadillac?
Z-06 replied to dwightlooi's topic in Cadillac
And what do you think high end customer wants? Cars that are worse than s class, A8,7 or better than S class, A8, 7? Few days ago GM announce that it will rise price and prestige of Cadillac cars to be better align with german cars. Why do you think they will do that? Why does GM wants Cadillac to go against Germans cars in luxury class if there are better cars out there? If Cadillac wants to be taken seriously in luxury car market they will have to be better than other cars in that market..And that cars are coming from Mercedes, BMW, Audi. Not Volvo, Lincoln, Acura. Also Cadillac is way behind on image in Europe. And it seems that it lack in image in USA too. Does Mercedes and BMW have over bloated image..Yes. But this is something Cadillac will go against on most markets in the world. So maybe if they build cars that are better than S class or A8 (but i think S class is still being considered king in its class...not to mention there is new one coming soon..but maybe i'm wrong), their image will go up. And maybe after time Cadillac will be considered Standard of the world again. Regarding J.D quality report...there is also J.D. Power 2012 Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study and according to this study Mercedes-Benz drivers are the most satisfied. I found this by just typing mercedes benz and J.D. Power. I'm curious is there any category where Cadillac has taken first place in J.D power regarding their cars(best premium cars, most reliable or anything regarding their cars)? That is the European study. Cadillac was behind Lexus and Toyota for 2009 U.S. long-term vehicle reliability ahead of all the Germans. -
Autocrossed the Z-06 last weekend of October. What a beast!

Marchionne seems to be keen on stopping VW juggernaut and one up Winterkorn. GM should not burn its hands twice with FIAT, once is enough.

LS7 is premium required. -
15% is indeed some girth gain. But if you look into perspective of the Vette's weight that is equivalent to 2%. It would be interesting to see how the car sheds weight.
