  1. There is nothing like the sound of a small block. This is coming from someone who didn't grow up in our country and loved German engineering to fanboism. So as long you keep the car stock, GM supports warranty to track the Corvette. To best of my knowledge none of the Germans do that. Is it a complete car? Nope. But it is the best bang for buck for anything north or south of that vehicle. American value engineering at its finest. I love the Cayman S better than the 911 and would be on my to buy list because of the nature of its layout.
  2. A couple of red SSRs back to back.
  3. Z4 sales are impressive. If it was GM, it would have been discontinued long time ago.
  4. What did you see in October 2013?
  5. Cars could be hacked.
  6. Happy Birthday sir.
  7. Social solutions beat engineering solutions.
  8. William S. Knudsen, President of Chevrolet production, in 1925, basically meant that he wanted Chevrolet to correct the lopsided ratio of 4 Ford cars to Chevrolet's 1 car then being manufactured to one Chevrolet car to one Ford car. Good piece of history.
  9. Two Lane Blacktop
  10. None.
  11. That information was not provided. You can use the product for the Encore.
  12. A friend of mine who details my Z06 uses Plastic Conditioner. Autoglym is a Brit manufacturer of excellent car care products, which are used by high end professional detailers. While not cheap, they are super excellent and I like to be cheap.
  13. Pontiac was killed because the Poor Old Nanny Thought It's A Cadillac.
  14. I was wondering why would Ford broadcast news about diesel engine change for MY 2015 - for this.
  15. You got it. By milking brand snobs like you and subsidizing the taxi operators MB gets a good volume.
  16. Then you answered your own question. To me supercar term is vague so clarification is a necessity.
  17. Define a supercar.
  18. Mercedes has really dropped the ball on the latest E. Even the E63 that I sat in at Detroit had some cost-cutting plastics and build quality left a room for improvement. Good to know how the CTS has stepped up interior. Overall a solid review.
  19. A stock with P/E of ~170 producing cars at less than ~0.1% of industry is sure to see some major correction. How much market can Elon sustain for his +$70,000 cars? When the annual market for cars (sedans) exceeding that purchasing price in US is approx. 30,000 units, how much more can Elon sustain its Model S before the growth stops? If you use Warren Buffet's analysis, the company is yet to prove it is capable for a long run. I think Dan is concentrating more on $30,000 electric car than a standalone Model S competitor.
  20. Some politics going on between GM and Fiat. Very interesting developments over the past two weeks.
  21. The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life. One man, a CEO, decided to explain the problem with education. He argued,"What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?" To stress his point he said to another guest; "You're a teacher, Bonnie. Be honest. What do you make?" Teacher Bonnie, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied, "You want to know what I make? (She paused for a second, then began...) "Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could. I make a C+ feel like the Congressional Medal of Honor winner. I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can't make them sit for 5 min.without an I Pod, Game Cube or movie rental. You want to know what I make? (She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table) I make kids wonder. I make them question. I make them apologize and mean it. I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions. I teach them how to write and then I make them write. Keyboarding isn't everything. I make them read, read, read. I make them show all their work in math. They use their God given brain, not the man-made calculator. I make my students from other countries learn everything they need to know about English while preserving their unique cultural identity. I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe. Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given, work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life ( Bonnie paused one last time and then continued.) Then, when people try to judge me by what I make, with me knowing money isn't everything, I can hold my head up high and pay no attention because they are ignorant. You want to know what I make? I MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN ALL YOUR LIVES,EDUCATING KIDS AND PREPARING THEM TO BECOME CEO's, AND DOCTORS AND ENGINEERS.......... What do you make Mr. CEO? His jaw dropped; he went silent.
  22. Rookie photographer! Self shadows in the picture Good review.
  23. Cadillac has to survive and if it means to have turkeys, in principle, like XTS and SRX, then so be it. The good part is that the customers are accepting those vehicles. There is no point to stick on principles, if the ship is sinking, so as long quality is being sold. I just don't like hypocirsy when BMW and MB goes FWD the move is considered luxury intentions for masses, while Caddy goes FWD it is badge engineering. Like it or not XTS has customers where DTS left and capturing them, keeping them in GM's fold and making them happy is far more important and less troublesome than poaching a European RWD fanboy. Find least amount of resistance in any approach and I like GM's approach here. This is what precisely was missing when demises of Olds, Pontiac and Saturn took place.
  24. A good solid month. Impressive. Good to know that Buick, GMC, Cadillac had higher growth compared to Chevy, that is where the gravy is coming. Keep it up GM.
