  1. That is a good commercial. I was out on a meeting with the client who is about 60 years old Hispanic gentleman. He is an environmental engineer at Ameristeel. Our conversation was different but the tone was the same. Him: I am looking for a pickup. Me: Cool Sir, What are your options. Him: Nissan Titan, Toyota Tundra and Chevy Silverado. Me: Great. Have you test driven any? Him: Nope, but I read CR and they said Toyota was good and they do not speak highly of the American vehicles. I am looking for the Chevy cuz I like the interior and it is American. Me: Did CR say that the Toyota had the highest number of recalls last year? Him: What??? Me: Yup, that is the "Small Information" which CR apparently failed to print Him: So let me ask you this. What will you buy of those 3? Me: Chevy Silverado 1500. Regular Cab LT1, 4x4 5.3 V-8 with Z-71, package. Him: Why? Me: Because 1. It's initial build quality is better than others according to JD Power. 2. It is not a look at me styled. 3. GM knows how make trucks more than the other two you are considering. I need it because: I want something offroad, I am single and I have to carry my mountain bike or my ATV and a couple of luggage bags, which will be enough for a Regular Cab. Me: My needs may be different than yours, what are your needs? Him: I want something which can tow my 5000 lb boat, and have seat for my wife, and enough luggage space, and yet room for my G-kids. Me: Then you should probably by an Avalanche. Him: I always liked its design, but my colleagues told me not to buy it because, it is GM. Me: Have you test driven it and sat in it? Him: Nope. Me: Go with an open mind and then we can talk again. I know I was kinda cocky in the end, but I convinced him. Let us see how it goes.

  3. I think it is very meticulously detailed. Everytime I see it I see something subtle and appreciate the workmanship. Good job GM.
  4. Based on the topic already in the forum (Clicky) I thought we can devote just to focus on A)Only the G-6 B)What it will be for the Pontiac C)What will you like to see in this car and why These are my thoughts. Having a RWD for that price to compete with the bread and butter FWD will be a cat in the pigeon sty. The G-6 should have power about the same as old 3 series and if about 80% fun of the new 3 er and we have a winner. The E90 BMW 3 is Pricier Cop-magnet More charm and lust toy for people who do not care for and use its engineering prowess. Build a car like what you said and we have younger generation early to mid twenties people, even early thirties vying for that car. It is potentially an untapped market. But should have following criteria. 1. Keep the weight below 3500 lb. 2. Dimensionally should be more or less equal to the older 3 series. 3. The top of the line model should not go beyond $30k. 4. Offer one 4 cylinder making about 220 hp and one V-6 with about 260-270 hp. As a matter of fact it can even have 2 turbocharged four bangers, which will make them tuner friendly but not ricers. 5. Limit the production to 100,000-150,000. If Kappa can be justified for producing 50,000 cars annually, this platform will be certainly justified. Moreover, market is a 3 series as well as FWD midsize sedan competitor. It will be challenging, but it is good to answer the challenge than just be another fish in the pond.

  10. Oldsmobile Sorry do not want to ruffle any feathers.
  11. Internet will be flooded with Virtual Gangs. Imagine playing multiplayer games against former gang members. I think they should also put in games for every ammunition cartridge they own. The head of the gang will go to the government and say I want 15 Xboxes and 7 PCs for my stuff.
  12. And the blokes from the other side of the pond make fun of our cars. What in the F'ing world those designers were thinking?
  13. Umm why do they love dual axles? Imagine dual dually Silverado 3500 HD
  14. I think GM is going to make a mistake by not updating it and killing it. It is exceptional to drive. May be it should get a makeover like a SUV and keep it there.
