  1. The only reason I would ever even THINK THAT.. would be if I had a disdain for 2 door vehicles. The Challenger, RT and above, behind the ANY Camaro, is gorgeous Assumptions are dangerous.
  2. I like this better than the Challenger.
  3. You know that it competes with E and 5, unless you got the ATS.
  4. Malibu Maxx, if he is going to do some hauling and the car with 4 cylinder gives great gas mileage. Granted it is ugly as sin. Otherwise a W or a G body is not a bad idea other than fuel economy of course.
  5. Again, why is A6 coming in LTS topic? SMK, if you do not have anything valuable and substantial to add, do not hijack the thread.
  6. But truck advertising and PR has always been akin to boy-racer cockwaving. In 2005, it was 'my engine is bigger.' Pretty much the auto industry itself.
  7. While it is good for Volt, how come Mini has G in more categories than Volt has TSP not TSP+? For the reason below? I think having a warning system with a weaker fail safe measure is worse than not having a system and having a stronger fail safe.
  8. That fact wouldn't justify the tirade, would it? Then the tirade would be Cadillac is being diluted.
  9. The statement sounds like Disney toons, "And they lived happily ever after." Other guys are not going to sit with thumbs stuck in their mouths. And why 30 mpg? Any win will be temporary. What if Ford with light weight already beats the 30 mpg, is Chrysler going to give up? These guys need to think before they say something.
  10. I like annual tax calculation, but how are we going to execute it flawlessly? Private companies fail, but experience is provided even in failure. Do you think Reids, Feinsteins, Pelosis, Rubios, McConnells, Cruzes have any? If they do, doesn't seem like they learned anything.
  11. I have seen more Mercedes Benz owners put AMG badge on their vehicles than any other brand owners. I saw a C230 Kompressor with AMG badge on the left of the trunk.
  12. Good one. If GM wants to proliferate diesel engines' development costs and use economy of scales, to me all sedans and trucks need to have a diesel. That would not only give GM one up against its domestic and Japanese competition but also attack straight into German territory. If someone in GM top brass thinks like a warrior, he wouldn't let the German flag fly over Alamo! Unfortunately decisions there are controlled by bean counters and lawyers trying to justify their anal-ysis for perception of company's survival and best path forward. Warriors need to be in that Renaissance Center. GM needs 3 diesel engines - a 4, V6 and a V8. Baby Duramax is an excellent platform to attain that. 2.2L 4 cylinder, 3.3L V-6 and of course 4.5L V-8. Major development costs have already been sunk and possibly written off in bankruptcy proceeding. A warrior will see no need for sitting on the pot and smelling the aroma by not even flushing.
  13. Diesel Corvette! Tri-turbo Baby Duramax making 500 hp. Why not!! Annhilate and destroy German snob-uber-diesels.
  14. I do not see where there is price overlap for this and full-sizers. An equivalent Silverado Double Cab WT with V6 starts at $30,695, i.e. $10k or 50% more, for an apples to apples comparison. Toyota double cab and Nissan Frontier extended cabs start within few hundred dollars of this one. A loaded Tacoma rings in at close to $37k. And those are dinosaurs. Days of getting a 250 hp diesel small truck with all ammenities for $16K are in Walgreen's world. To me this is fair pricing given market conditions.
  15. Unless others disagree, I honestly do not think this should be a C&G article. You can have your own and put it up. This looks something like Autoblog would post.
  16. No sarcasm, what are the SUV/Truck buyers doing morally, legally and ethically wrong that warrants taxing them for being "illegal"?
  17. Gas prices are no where near the price levels of August 2010, when they were hovering at $2.60/gallon. In fact since 2010, the spikes and valleys have been more or less ocurring during the same time periods annually, i.e. Jan - March higher prices, July - October - low or almost constant.
  18. Looking at GM's operations, it seems like it operates with an 90-10 rule. It will only target 90% people and forget the remaining 10. But it is more like 75-25. Look at HHR, Avalanche, Cobalt Coupe, lack of performance models for regular Chevy vehicles, no manual transmissions, no Raptor competitor, no 1500 diesels, no cheaper FWD convertible, no proper hybrid against Prius the list goes on. Given the excuse made post-bankruptcy that GM will be more flexible and product diversified, I am yet to see measures taken towards that goal.
  19. SMK your comments about aluminum strength and now drag coefficient makes me think that your highschool physics knowledge needs a lot of work out using steroids. Why is the Malibu thread becoming Chevroletdes Benz thread? And also, if you want to boast about your Chevroletdes Benz knowledge and be its free cheerleader at least be accurate. MBUSA states cd for latest E and CLS as 0.28. Last gen E class had cd of 0.27 so based on your logic, the new E class is a step backward because it has cd of 0.01 less than the old E class number. But again with your logic Chevroletdes Benz is purveyor and beacon of technological leadership.
  20. GMC Buick will now have 2 overlapping vehicles with not many dissimilarities in the same showroom. If that is the case why didn't the GMC Granite get approved? At least it was a good concept that was well received. Small CUVs are the next battleground and it would be ideal for GM to prop that segment with three flavors and make money.
  21. 4x4? Yes.

    Enjoy
  23. Ever since the W bodies, GM does not understand FWD sedans. GM partially gets the trucks and RWD sedans right , more likely gets the SUVs right, and almost gets the sports cars right.
  24. This, trucks have gone from utility mules to borderline luxury vehicles. There was time that people use to have "daily driver" and a truck. Now with trucks having the same ammenities as the Chevroletdes Benz or GMW of similar price, it is obvious to have truck as a daily driver. Yes, you see people riding trucks empty and ridicule of the waste. But would you rather have two car payments with slightly less fuel usage or one car payment with more fuel usage?
