  1. My neighbor ordered one a few days ago... a blue/black 2.8T.
  2. I'll concede that the Civic is dated and plain, but its interior is still far more pleasing to my eyes than the Cobalt's.
  3. Here's a good look at the design process: http://www.motoringfile.com/2005_MINI_Concept_Creation/
  4. Wait... isn't the point of turbocharging to use more fuel and thereby produce more power? And isn't the point of hybrids to save fuel?

    Car Spotting

Both the new Accord and Civic.
  6. Yep, no car has ever received an acceptable rating for their side crash without side airbags. The dummies head will always, always bash into the hood of the car that's crashing into you. The $400 Chevy charges for curtains on the Cobalt is much less costly than a skull fracture.
  7. It does now... but if you go for the one with the rear spare tire, it'll be useless. I have a feeling the US won't get it.
  8. I'd expect it to have pop-up rollover bars or something, like the New Beetle Cabrio's.
  9. That's probably typical of the supercar "cottage industry"... fast, senseless, impractical cars designed to shock and awe but not much more. In this regard, the modern "mass produced" Ferraris are in a class of their own, IMO.
  10. The current Civic's interior, for the most part, is a pleasant place to spend time in, and I rank it as good as the Corolla's and better than the Cobalt's. The plastics themselves are hard, but they are grained and finished nicely. The general shapes of the seats and dashboard make it seem more substantial than they actually are: The Special Edition's aftermarket stereo doesn't look right on such a conservative car, though.
  11. WTF are they thinking with that sat nav unit? It looks like a 1980's PC. The new HVAC controls suck, too. Maybe it's more ergonomically sound, but it doesn't match the interior. I like the new two-tone leather... but that's about it. Old interior:
  12. Wow, I love the new trunk lid, but everything else about the mods look cheesy.
  13. Or an X3... with that D-pillar.

    2006 9-5 pricing

Wow, that's good value for money. I'd take it over an Acura TL.
  15. Interesting how they're using the "Aveo" name in Europe. I wonder if the whole Chevy passenger car line-up will become global... the Malibu can be the Verona's successor, a joint project by GM NA and GM Daewoo, and Suzuki can sell their own original products in the US. The interior looks relatively appealing... about on par with the new Accent/Rio and more substantial than the Echo's. I like the idea of a mini-Cobalt, but not with these proportions. But then of course, most of the new, taller hatches don't look good as sedans (i.e. Jetta).
  16. That's what I'm thinking... The Camry will probably have similar powertrain choices: 4-banger, 4-banger hybrid, and V-6.
  17. Oops, I mean interior-wise. It's just so drab and dreary...
  18. After this (great interior), why did GM resort to mediocrity in their latest Impala?
  19. Something about it makes me think Monterey...
  20. WHAT? Argh, I thought Toyota was trying to "help" GM. At least it's 268 hp now. By the way, be sure to post pics of Frankfurt. Lucky you!

    Personal Ads

 Who wants to make the first "sexual preference" poll here?
  22. Pretty much my sentiments... the CTS and STS seem to have the same amount of interior room; the primary difference between the two cars is quality. To be competitive in this segment, the CTS needs at least the STS's quality... but wait, why would anyone buy a similarly-sized STS then? Cadillac didn't go far enough with the STS, IMO, leaving a difficult dilema for GM -- how good should they make the CTS, without cannabalizing the STS? In this situation, making the CTS smaller makes the most sense.
  23. I think with a torso airbag in addition to the curtains, it'd score even higher. This is a midyear upgrade that makes much more sense than AWD.
  24. Oh my God... I wasn't too impressed by the first picture, thought it'd be comparable to a Solstice, but the second one... wow! That's automotive pornography.
  25. I'd pick the Civic Si over the Cobalt SS Supercharged, but not the cheaper and more interesting ION Red Line... I kinda like the Satty's dashboard design, blue/black seats, and exterior styling. If it were my money, I'd still probably choose the Civic to be on the safe side... the Saturn's questionable safety and quality would probably scare the rational part of my mind.
