  1. I think the outside is clever... builds on establishing Toyota design cues, but that interior looks chintzy. With 269 horsepower, it should be a rocket to drive.
  2. You could probably get a marked-up M5 for that!
  3. You can get those wheels on a Gallardo...
  4. www.motoringfile.com is a good MINI blog.
  5. Not that I can afford a $50K car now or anything... GM - Pontiac GTO Ford - Ford Fusion SEL DCX - Mercedes SLK350 Euro - MINI Cooper S Asian - Honda Civic Si
  6. And the Durango will topple over at the sight of a bend.
  7. Ehh, aside from the weirdness that's too JDM for my liking, it doesn't seem all that original or attractive, still a step behind the Europeans, IMO. The seats look a bit sloppy, the center stack is Panasonic-generic, and the center console is too similar to the XLR's. The best thing about it is the tissue box in the glovebox.
  8. Or piano black, like in the SKY. That center A/C vent could benefit from some aluminum, too.
  9. Eh, that was my least favorite aspect of the commercial. I don't know... generally, most GM commercials, with the exception of Cadillac, seem too inconsistent. It seems like they're unsure of the branding of their, uh, brands, constantly changing them every other year. What happened to Dream On? The Lexus announcer has been the same for as long as I remember, and it helps to reinforce a common image.
  10. Well, they did that for the Lincoln LS.
  11. That person would have to own a home out-of-state or buy the car "used" with 7500 miles on it. The buyer could also attempt to rack up 7500 miles in 20 days, or however long the temporary tags last. Not exactly practical, but if they really wanted a '06 TT, it's possible. The TT is a bit of a lame-duck; no other Audi uses the 1.8T or non-FSI direct injection 3.2. AFAIK, the 3.2 FSI TT (the 250 hp version), which shares its engine with the A3, A4, and A6 is still CA-legal.
  12. If a car does not have CA emissions, you can purchase and register it in another state, drive it for at least 7500 miles, and then register it in CA. When it gets smogged, it will be tested under federal emission standards not CA's. This also applies to people who are interested in buying diesel passenger cars in CA. More... From that, you can deduce that previously titled vehicles with over 7500 miles are exempt.
  13. I got either food poisoning or the stomach flu. Threw up about seven times, and no amount of water would stay in. Then I gave it to my mom. :(
  14. Do dooo do doo do you do you wanna... *crash* If you don't want to view it streaming, you can get the BitTorrent from http://www.finalgear.com.
  15. I'm still waiting for the day Toyota makes an ad saying "More of our car line-up is built right here in the US of A than Chevy or Ford!" Toyota Matrix - Canada Prius - Japan Chevy Aveo - South Korea HHR - Mexico Impala - Canada Monte Carlo - Canada Ford Focus - Mexico Fusion - Mexico Crown Vic - Canada Ironically, lots of Toyota trucks are made in Japan, including the Land Cruiser, 4Runner, Highlander, and RAV4.
  16. Alfa 159, probably the most tasteful, refreshing, and elegant car in its class dominated by Germans...
  17. (It's in Canadian dollars)
  18. From a styling standpoint, I don't see it as an improvement over the Equinox.
  19. I guess "how good it is" depends on its pricing. If priced between the RAV4 and Highlander, like the current Santa Fe is, that's a bargain.
  20. It looks much smaller... like an Astra sedan, but the platform is slight different, I believe.
  21. By the total package thing then, makes sense, as the Civic is offered in sedan, coupe, Si, and hybrid form.
  22. Shrug... I just don't think people will spend a big chunk of money on a brand new car that looks old. From those pics above, it looks especially cartoony... like it came from Disneyland or something.
  23. Their criteria includes practicality, too. I remember when people blasted them for chosing the 2-seat Thunderbird as COTY.
