  1. Yes, the hood is very nice. The HVAC controls look surprisingly original, too, especially from a GM product. The 20" wheels and body-color door handles make such a huge difference. Forgot to mention the mirrors... they'd complement the Tahoe better if they were more angular and less round.

    The BMW V5 and X6

Yeah, what BMW was great at was making one car that appealed to a wide audience. The current X5 drives as well as any FX, but isn't useless in grass, mud, or snow like the Infiniti is.
  3. Is this the first official mention of the Tahoe's MPG? 16/22 is pretty impressive, though from the initial GM PR, it sounded like more.
  4. This should relegate all concerns that the Solstice isn't agile, nippy, or dainty enough to be a proper "purist" roadster. Who needs that when you have brute force? The cosmetic changes are less appealing, though maybe it's the color and photography that makes it look so horrible. Good thing the spoiler is optional, and the availability of Stabilitrak is excellent. I never knew a sport suspension was optional on the regular Solstice... typo, maybe?
  5. Phaeton SWB with the engine from the Flying Spur... should fit seamlessly and work reliably.
  6. I like the old exterior more, but the interior is definitely better. We have the same engine in a much heavier car, and it still is a hoot to drive.
  7. I remember when they claimed that the Lucerne was to have a 5.3L V8.
  8. Nice... that's at least 60 more bhp than VW's direct-inject 2.0T. Hope it goes in a lot of cars.
  9. The Honda Civic and Ridgeline are keepers, by the way.
  10. At least we now know that it's disrespectful. :AH-HA_wink:
  11. Sounds a lot like the Ridgeline comments... "its baesd on a freeking minivan plattform."

    Isn't it illegal?

Not "20hp" but 8 horses sounds reasonable. And Toyota makes 3.5L 269 hp mainstream engines that do not detonate with regular fuel. I'm sure GM can, too, if they bothered.

    Supra

It's probably the Camaro of the Toyota fans.

    Isn't it illegal?

I think what gmrebirth is suggesting is that the 3.3 V6 runs best on premium fuel, thus the 218 hp on Lexus models, but Toyota "recommends" only regular for the 210 hp Camry. I remember Honda offered two horsepower numbers (210 vs 205) for the 99-01 Odyssey -- one for premium, one for regular.
  15. I'm sorry to hear about that, and yes, I hope it's totalled, too. Our Passat went through ~$13K worth of repairs after a relatively "minor" front crash (airbags didn't deploy), and it's definitely not the same as before. The panel gaps are horrendous, the paint doesn't match, and the suspension squeaks.
  16. Good find.. Higher the number, the higher the cost of living: 1 TOKYO Japan = 134.7 2 OSAKA Japan = 121.8 3 LONDON UK = 120.3 4 MOSCOW Russia = 119.0 5 SEOUL South Korea = 115.4 6 GENEVA Switzerland = 113.5 7 ZURICH Switzerland = 112.1 8 COPENHAGEN Denmark = 110.0 9 HONG KONG HK = 109.5 10 OSLO Norway = 105.3 11 MILAN Italy = 104.9 12 PARIS France = 102.2 13 NEW YORK CITY US = 100.0 My sister lived in Copenhagen for 4 months, and she agrees that the cost of living there is insane. A meal at a McDonalds costs roughly 11 USD.

    Car Spotting

Saw another new S-class and another new Flying Spur, which looks better than the Continental GT, IMO.
  18. The yellow would be nicer if it were more pastel-ish, IMO.
  19. Better yet, why not modernize an ancient Caddy? Keep the shell, but give it modern suspension, modern electronics, modern luxuries, modern safety features, a modern interior, and a modern powertrain.
  20. Never liked any C6 wheel... what about extra-cost rebadged-BBS wheels available from the factory?
  21. Media bias, of course. Seriously, though, some publications seem to have gone out of their way to dispell even a whisper of pro-Honda bias charges by being unduly harsh to the new Ridgeline and Civic.

    The Stalk

GM already has it in the C6 and the new GMT900s, though there are indents if you want them.
  23. IDK... aside from the Carrera GT, most Porsches seem too purist, predictable, sterile, and common. The 911 isn't really up my street, though the Boxster is probably the best $45K open-roof sports car to own.
