  1. It arrived in the mail today, and interestingly, the TrailBlazer only won because of the infamous-by-now "gotta-have-it factor".

    Car Spotting

Refreshed Saab 9-5 in black... looks very attractive.
  3. Just like architecture or fashion or music... "moved on" to newer trends.

    Next nit-pick?

Quality of the turn signal indicator tick... Audi are really good at that, but our callous and uncritical press never ever commends them for such an imperative achievement. Also, door hinges should be nitpicked... I'm fed up with VW's antiquated three-position design. I want them to hold at any angle, dammit!
  5. I can't speak for turbo, but to me, the inspiration and design of the Lucerne interior is five years behind. But looks aren't everything to everyone; the Lucerne is competitive enough "technically" (as in quality or equipment) regardless of design. '06 Lucerne vs. '01 Passat: Other manufacturers have moved on, IMO.
  6. Interesting... they've since replaced it with a non-symmetrical interior, and sales are still pathetic.
  7. I agree also. As evidenced by the number of C&G'ers here who don't mind the interior, I think it'll sell just fine, as befits a sucessor to the popular LeSabre. However, I have trouble believing that Buick will gain new conquest buyers with the Lucerne, either by offering something new or doing the Buick heritage proud. Based on what GM had to begin with, I'd say it's a competent car, though hardly a significant stand-out in the market. In this respect, the Lucerne really reminds me of (sorry Cananopie!) the last-gen Acura RL. But if you put all this in perspective, the Lucerne really does speak volumes. It's the transition car that proves GM can indeed build competent, tasteful, and well-assembled vehicles. Now it's time to use the creativity and passion that drove them in the '60s.
  8. The current Tundra buyers will probably find the upcoming Silverado to be just right, if it looks anything like the Tahoe.
  9. The Lucerne would REALLY benefit from the DTS's higher quality dash materials, which are on par with the Avalon's.. The Fusion also uses premium stuff, but they're not screwed together as nicely. I'd like to comment further but I've got two tests tomorrow.
  10. Interesting... I'm getting quite a Renault vibe from the grille, C-pillar, and overall proportions. The dashboard reminds me of some cheap Mercedes or something.
  11. True... aside from the Phaeton, I can only think of one other AWD big sedan -- the S430/500 4Matic.
  12. Interesting... everything that VW/Audi makes has traditionally been overweight and needlessly overengineered. Even the aluminum A8 is heavier than some of its steel-bodied competitors.
  13. They seem better built than the interiors of old, but they're less pleasing to the eye and touch. The overall ambience in the Golf, Jetta, GTI, and even Passat is far too cold. Plus, I'm fed up with the three-position door hinges.
  14. The "Only GM" commercial was soooooo brilliant. It had good music, it showed lots of innovation, it showed GM's history... brought a tear to my eye.
  15. FORD GT DESTROYED NOONO ONON ONSDFNDSFF~@!#!@$~
  16. The Zephyr has really excellent materials, IMO.
  17. Ewww... waaayy too butch, like it's butch for butchs sake. I think it'll lose some sales to its current conservative buyers. The current Tundra Double Cab is one of the most handsome and manageable full-sized trucks out there, IMO.
  18. If so, they managed to make it produce 42 more horsepower, have double the valves, incorporate VVT, and use aluminum for the block.
  19. Yes, I like the coupe-like greenhouse.
  20. Pre-orders, like with the 9-3 SportCombi and Solstice?
