  1. It's better than any Camry, Accord, Impala, Malibu, Altima, Avalon, or Five Hundred... I know it's derivative, but at least it looks professional.
  2. The Avalon did better... it got a quadruple five-star crash rating. The Lucerne gets four-stars for side impacts. But anway, NHTSA's test procedures are dated and vague.
  3. The next Lancer is probably going to be good...

    ....

On paper... until you realize how $h!ty the visibility it is, how useless the third-row is, and how underachieving the powerplant is. The Freestyle is a much, much better crossover.. shame about its looks and poor sales.
  5. The Honda Accord, Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Mazda 6 all have front double-wishbones.
  6. So it's about masculinity now?
  7. This is great news! The press loved the SRXs driving dynamics, but the consumer didnt want to live with that interior.
  8. This is far more interesting and relevant than the Eclipse, IMO, which is struggling in a dying segment. The Outlander seems class-leading with its aluminum roof, six-speed automatic, Bluetooth, keyless ignition, and ESP.
  9. How about an Uplander? Minivans are generally roomier, easier on gas, and more carlike to drive than SUVs.
  10. Anyway, get a Fit if you want a well-equipped $14K Honda.
  11. Wow, that's a great deal. Have you checked insurance costs? Mileage restrictions?

    Death of the V8?

Monte and Impala "Super Sports" are niche vehicles, as is the 300C. Consumer consumption of Crown Vics is being replaced by the 500, which will soon offer a 265-hp V6.
  13. I would if it were risk-free...
  14. Thanks for ruining another perfectly fine thread with your rhetoric. I want my two minutes back...
  15. Well, the old 9-5 competed against $40K 5ers and A6s... now it competes against $34K entry-level FWD sedans like the TL and ES.

    Death of the V8?

Isn't that already the case? I can't think of a single V8 "non-niche" passenger car.
  17. And don't forget the roofline that curves down before the rear passenger's head and the pillars that angle inward limiting horizontal headroom. And there's the super-long steering column that juts the wheel far from the dash and into your chest. And also the high doorsills hindering rear seat access, and consequently the seat bottom that curves away as it approaches the door.
  18. Same... I've seen a few "Ray Fladeboe Honda - Honolulu" frames... in CA.
  19. I wouldn't worry... there are tons of good handling cars with front struts.
  20. This will be the ultimate test to see whether the public is ready for a Cadillac S-class/7-series competitor.
  21. They better frickin' hurry up then!!!
  22. The "ecoweenies" are also presenting a "vailid counter view point," the tax breaks, the emissions, the green image, and so on.
  23. The success of the Prius is in its ability to convince people who would otherwise drive a gas-guzzling SUV or luxury car to try something more economical. Obviously these people wouldn't be interested in a Cobalt or Echo, and the Prius is a stylish alternative that has all the features of a more expensive car (Keyless Go, reversing camera, ESP, Bluetooth, nav...) The Prius and MINI are probably the only two classless cars in the US.
