  1. Since this isn't very elegant anyway, I'd take the Evo X and keep the $25K+ change if I wanted a Japanese sports sedan.
  2. Holy cow it's heavy! RWD w / manual: 3861 lb RWD w / auto: 3872 lb AWD w / auto: 4101 lb That's 400 lb+ heavier than a 530i.
  3. I like it more than the current one or the WRX. And it sounds like it can be used everyday.
  4. Agreed. The old CTS was 15% art and 85% science. This is now 75% art and 25% science.
  5. I love both the understated design details and the overall profile. It seems to have a much more aggressive stance while being much more sophisticated at the same time. I love the Sixteen-inspired greenhouse and the crisp rear end... there's a lot of depth to this design.

    What a laff

Yeah... someone merely cut-and-pasted it from the SF Chronicle. The fact it was a VW board is merely a coincidence... This thread's title is misleading, offensive, and untrue, btw.
  7. Absolutely fabulous in every way. This is the first Cadillac I would buy with my own money.
  8. Hmm... that's rather nice. It's graceful enough and not overly sporty. I particularly like the side body surfacing... very elegant.
  9. Now that the GTO is dead, the only reason Pontiac should exist, IMO, is the Solstice.
  10. I'm really liking the pics on Edmunds. This new CTS has a lot of interesting surface details.
  11. There's quite a lot to take in... but overall I think it's pretty good. I hate the fender vents, though.
  12. Sweet. I wonder when it'll go into production.
  13. Tundra... 236 hp/266 lb-ft V6 (17/20) 271 hp/313 lb-ft 4.7 (15/18) 381 hp/401 lb-ft 5.7 (16/20) Silverado... 195 hp/260 lb-ft V6 (17/21) 315 hp/338 lb-ft 5.3 (16/22) 367 hp/375 lb-ft 6.0 (15/19)
  14. Wow, amazing, I haven't seen that before. Is that a chop, a concept, or a production model?
  15. Of course that makes the Aveo deficient. The 40-mph offset barrier test (which came out in 1995) is tougher and more realistic than the NHTSA 35-mph wall test. For the past five years, practically every modern car has gotten the highest IIHS frontal rating. These tests reveal what to expect in the real world. It's obvious that the Aveo structure is weaker than its competitors. So even if a head-on crash occurs at 43 mph and 45% offset, a Yaris, Fit, Versa, or even Cobalt would fare better than the Aveo. Of course all crash tests should be taken with a grain of salt (some "injuries" are test procedure-specific), but to someone familiar with the tests, at least they give you a general idea. Yes, but if you want a small car, why not improve your chances and buy the safer ones (i.e. one with a passenger cell that doesn't crumple)? And their side crashes can be compared against different segments, because the same SUV-like barriers come crashing in at 31 mph for every car. Again, some injury measures might be specific to the test procedure, but at least you can see how well the passenger cell held up.
  16. You know what... if they want to keep the DTS, make it an ES350 competitor. Lexus has a good-selling, soft-riding FWD boat, too, priced between their compact and midsize performance sedans. Replace the 275-hp Northstar/4-speed with a 275-hp HFV6/6-speed, add features, improve the interior, lower the price to $38,990 (maybe have an artificial base price of $33,990 like Lexus), and market the hell out of it.
  17. It kinda reminds me of the old Infiniti M45. The Nissan Gloria Cedric Gertrude thing.
  18. NHTSA "star" ratings are outdated and worthless. The Aveo trails the Yaris, Fit, and Versa in IIHS/E-NCAP 40-mph frontal offset and IIHS 31-mph "SUV" side tests.
  19. Wow. A turbocharged generator.
  20. Awesome. More here... http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/07/automobiles/07VOLT.html

    Climate Change

Probably cause we're a lot more affluent than the emerging markets, meaning we use a lot more resources, eat a lot more inefficient food (i.e. meat), throw away a lot more trash, and burn a lot more gas per person. The average American consumes 30 more times more than an Indian. Affluent nations need to conserve as much as poor nations, while poor nations need to reproduce as little as affluent nations.

    BURGERS

The picture isn't loading for me... but I'm guess they're fries "animal style," which means grilled onions, pickles, cheese, and burger sauce.
