  2. If you want to buy American, the new Volvo C30 is hot, too, especially in white. It's either a very practical coupe or a very stylish hatchback.
  3. Get the new Cooper S, even though it's uglier and more cheaply made. If it's anything like the previous generation, it won't depreciate for the first two years.
  4. How about an older GT like XK8, CL, CLK, or M3?
  5. Sure to confuse buyers, Chrysler is now Engineered Beautifully...
  6. Used Crossfire? It's an old Mercedes but with Chrysler resale value.
  7. New TT is hot. Starts at under $35K, too.
  8. Wow, that's gorgeous. I'm in love. With a Buick people carrier!
  9. The same thing that makes the TL-S fast on the track, its limited-slip diff, makes it a handful under normal driving conditions. LSD exacerbates torque steer on FWD cars.
  10. Nice... the front end looks less goofy. I still wish for the availability of black... that's such an Enclavey color IMO.
  11. You could probably score a used E-class wagon for the same money... next generation of the Magnum's chassis + a non-suicide-inducing interior.

    Hybrid Theory

In all seriousness, you're not that off. A 40% city improvement brings an E85-running Durango to 11.2 MPG under the '08 EPA test procedures.
  14. Yep, they're gone for all hybrids in CA.
  15. Wonder if they can graft that body onto a GMT900 frame. Give it a new interior, make a handful, and it'll sell based on looks alone.
  16. HOV lane stickers are gone for hybrids anyway. CNG Civic still has it though...
  17. Here goes.. 5-series (best all-rounder, especially 535i) E-class (solid, everything from diesel to the 6.3) M (competitive numbers, lacking character, a bit "thin") A6 (lacking in numbers, but classy and sophisticated) STS (compelling with new V6, bold and brash) GS (compelling with V6, gutless V8, pointless V8h, refined, dull) S80 (nice) RL (Honda Legend) S-type (ritzy styling, dated) I excluded midsized entry-lux or faux-lux sedans like ES350, G35, MKZ, TL, CTS, Passat 3.6, 9-5, etc.
  18. As far as mainstream sedans/hatches go (I excluded wagons like the HHR, Vibe, etc)... Rabbit/Jetta Astra ('08) Civic Mazda3 xB ('08) Lancer ('08) Sentra Impreza Elantra Focus ('08) Spectra Cobalt/G5 Caliber Corolla ION Forenza/Reno
  19. 25% increase = increase of 4 MPG? Diesels make more sense in trucks.
  20. Side Blind Zone Alert shouldn't be mandatory on STS-V... it sets off false alarms with most radar detectors. And if you had an STS-V, you'd probably want a radar detector...
  21. Yesterday was a good day. Spyker something-or-other... looked like this: Panoz roadster... I remember driving it in Midtown Madness 2: And also an Aston Martin DB9 Sport (stacked exhausts and five-spokes)... much more James Bondish than the regular one.
  22. Wow, what happened to it... The didn't konw the horizontal grille slats were flat black. The front end looks a bit distorted, too, and it seems to lean forward too much. I'm sure I'll like it more in person.
  23. It was on C&D's cover many many months ago...
