Damn, I can't see the vid, all I get is the Windows Media logo flying around over and over. I suspect the genius in question gets run over by his own car- close? Can anyone grab a couple frames to post? Fer yer ol' pal Gus? ^_^ How about a play-by-play commentary? :P

But it's got arrowheads on the wheel centers.

That's great! My mom has always joked that she wants a red Corvette when she retires- and that we, her children, are supposed to buy it for her. :P Maybe she'll settle for a nice low-mileage C5... This reminds me of a nice Caprice wagon I see in my town, one of the mid-90s wagons. It has tinted windows all around, appears to be lowered, and wears nice fat tires on cool aluminum rims. It has dual exhaust and a healthy bark to it too. An older guy, maybe early 60s, drives it. The license plate? "GO DAD" AWESOME! If I have all my wits about me (or most of them anyway) at that age I hope to be like that too. :)

FlyB, if you could PS the passenger's head in the driver's lap, I would plotz!!

Those are some great looking cars, I don't care if they have tons of plastic on them. Shame to see them replaced by the incredible driveable egg that is the G6... :(

 -----> that droptop Cutlass, love it! LQ1 power all the way baby! :metal: Was it totalled out? Bummer; I love your engine bay, very clean in that pic, reminds me of the LQ1 in my GTP, complete w/ billet dogbone.

Fijan, well done sir! I must say, tho, her mouth looks a little, uh, vicious, like she's growling. Hmmm, now that I think about it, that's almost better! :D

If you wear glasses (like I do), it helps to take them off- giggity-giggity! :P
-
Sure, if you just want to drop them off at the airport en masse... :P

"Good evening, this is Action News, I'm Tad Wonkley. Our top story: a young woman was found at a local car show today, mummified and implanted with what appear to be stereo speakers in the trunk of a show car. As our reporter on the scene will relate, it appears the young woman suffered a slow painful death." YEEEECK!! What else are we supposed to think?!
-
Agree w/ Panth, that poor car will never be used for its intended purpose. They may as well have replaced the engine w/ an aquarium, or a wet bar, or a stripper doing a pole dance. Honestly, I have no idea why all these show cars have to have a dozen TV screens molded into every surface. What's the point, "ooh, look what I can do"?

I am liking that vehicle more and more each day. Very unique styling, certainly some shades of Aztek in the nose and tail if you ask me. I like the new Subie grill theme, call me crazy...
-
As blackviper mentioned, the Aztek does seem to be a great choice for that sort of thing. While Lynne and I haven't tried it yet, I'm thinking a small bottle of wine in the console cooler, some Barry White on the CD player, satin sheets on the inflatable mattress, and somebody else watching our daughter. :omfg: :booyah: I think my favorite car sex memory is in my GP, front seats. I was... uh, manually servicing my GF at the time, and her foot kept inching closer and closer to the door lock switch, which due to a quirk in the installation of an aftermarket alarm, would set off said alarm if it were to be actuated. We did manage to avoid attracting any attention that late night, in her friend's parents' driveway. :o Another fave, same girl, in the back seat of my ol' 78 Civic- yes, it's doable! (So was she- HEY-O!!)

Ho-hum, turd polishing on TV... Didn't care for the HHR up to now, and those customs don't do anything for me either, beyond the engineering appeal of the RWD conversion.

OK, I was logged onto AOL for a few hours on Sunday, not using it, just leaving it connected while I watched TV. Damned if the thing didn't have to reconnect every few minutes!! I absolutely HATE AOL, I'm dying for a good alternative, pref. not dial up. I'm looking at this SBC/yahoo DSL service that attaches to my phone service, it's only $15/month. I don't know yet if that's just an intro rate, like the first year, then it goes up to the "regular" price. If that's the rate, tho, it's cheaper than my AOL dial-up ($25), and it has to be better, right? I mean, it can't be worse! Ok then, if someone could answer these questions, that'd be super: 1- Is DSL more reliable than dial-up, i.e. no disconnects? 2- Is it generally faster? The SBC site claims a range of speeds, the lowest of which was about 128k IIRC. Does the DL speed vary like dial-up does? 3- Does anyone actually have SBC/Yahoo DSL in the Chicago area (847)? Like it? How much are you paying? Overall, I need it to be more reliable and faster, in that order, and still the same cost or cheaper. Thanks much in advance!

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix - new ground effects !
Mach5GTP replied to Allen K's topic in Heritage Marques
The indentation probably serves to stiffen the door; look around and you'll see most cars have some form of styling line or crease in the doors. They should have extended that indent and molding into the fender; the way it ends at the edge of the door looks cheap. -
My biggest problem w/ the G6 coupe is the overal exterior blandness, the awful trunklid, and the bubble-top roofline. I prefer flatter, more formal rooflines myself. But I did sit in a G6 coupe at a dealer and realized I could learn to live w/ the blandness if the GTP drives as well as I hope it does. And I'm sure the aftermarket will come up w/ a rear spoiler that will cover the trunklid's awful shape, like the Monte Carlo's various rear spoilers do. Oh, and the taillights, yeesh, why do the taillights have to resemble the headlights?

Yes. Americans did walk on the Moon. It was very very difficult, but they did do it. As humans in general, and Americans in particular, we are a very smart and capable people who met an incredible challenge head-on and triumphed in the greatest way possible. People who claim to have (I'm gonna torture this poor word here, sorry) "evidence" to the contrary lack a basic grasp of things like physics, engineering, photography, and reality. Check out Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy page and this link http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html for an excellent point-by-point teardown of the skeptics' supposed evidence (sorry) against America's finest hour in space. And may this thought never cross your mind again... :)

No pics, sorry, but I saw a Lamborgini Murcielago at a Thornton's gas station last summer. Yellow, too, so awesome in person! The owner was pretty cool , he let me peek inside (no sit-down, tho :( ) I've actually seen it around since, too. Years ago, when the NSX came out, I saw one double-parked in Wrigleyville here in Chicago. Like the geek that I was/am, I hopped out and took a pic.

I think they're trying to say that, at the moment, the base G6 engine is a V6, and thus overpowers the base Altima engine. Once the sad 4-banger G6 comes out, that little selling point goes out the window.

I see this great new body style, and my heart weeps, it cries and cries and wails and shakes uncontrollably at the fact that this sweet shape is saddled with 4 G-D doors... If this were a coupe I could overlook the awful taillights and the side rubstrip that makes it look like the fender came off another car that didn't have the strip, and the crappy dash. What a waste. -
Who is that? Is that like being Keyser Soze?

Damn, I won't see one here in Chicagostan til next year... May be just as well, since I'll probably start crying when I see my first- tears of joy, tears of hopelessness. :( -
I mighta missed this one, but how about the infamous Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon twins? Never mind the GLH version! Also, the 1st-gen Civic, one of which I am still the proud owner. B)
