  3. Trust me evok, I wouldn't waste my time. I see you're just as nasty as you always were. Oh, welcome back by the way! :AH-HA_wink:
  4. Don't like the wagon version?
  5. Thanks saturndood. I am half Italian and half German. I went to school in Germany until I was 10 years old. School in Germany at that time required language courses in 3 other European languages starting at age 5. I decided on English, Italian and Spanish, German was spoken in my home, since my mom is a native German. I look Italian, but think like a German, at least that's what my father always said. I continued with my language studies when we moved to the USA, so I guess you would say I'm multi-lingual, but to this day I prefer German over English. You were a good son to your dad!
  6. Beauty machine’ makes everyone pretty Researchers say device transforms any woman's photo into model-likeness By Robert Roy Britt updated 2:31 p.m. ET, Fri., Nov. 7, 2008 Researchers have created a "beauty machine" they say can turn a woman's photo into the likeness of a cover model with the push of a button. The goal is not just to toy with pictures. Sure, the new computer software could help editors distort magazine cover photos even more than they already do. But it could also guide plastic surgeons in efforts to achieve some perceived level of perfection in a patient. Or the software might even be incorporated into future digital cameras to make us all appear gorgeous, the researchers suggest. "Beauty, contrary to what most people think, is not simply in the eye of the beholder," said lead researcher Daniel Cohen-Or of the Blavatnik School of Computer Sciences at Tel Aviv University. Pretty by numbers Attractiveness — for men or women — can be objectified by a computer and boiled down to a function of mathematical distances or ratios, Cohen-Or said, admitting that the work is likely to be controversial. "Beauty can be quantified by mathematical measurements and ratios. It can be defined as average distances between features, which a majority of people agree are the most beautiful," he said. "I don't claim to know much about beauty. For us, every picture in this research project is just a collection of numbers." All this is actually backed by a study, published recently in the proceedings of Siggraph, an annual computer graphics conference. Cohen-Or and colleagues asked 68 Israeli and German men and women, ages 25 to 40, to rank the beauty of 93 different men's and women's faces on a scale of 1 to 7. The scores were entered into a database and correlated to 250 different measurements and facial features, such as ratios of the nose, chin and distance from ears to eyes, according to a statement from the team. From this, they created an algorithm of "desirable elements of attractiveness" that then spits out the new you. The beauty machine is more subtle than a typical Photoshop makeover, they say. The machine does not seem to work so well on celebrities, however. "We've run the faces of people like Brigitte Bardot and Woody Allen through the machine and most people are very unhappy with the results," Cohen-Or said. "But in unfamiliar faces, most would agree the output is better." Link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27596308/
  7. Yes but that's not offered here.
  8. Lately I find myself wanting this car. It gives me a Cadillac and Saab in one package, plus it's a wagon and it comes with 1.9 liter diesel engine. I know it's not your thing, but it's a win/win for me. I also want it in black.
  9. I have to admit, that looks mighty nice, but then I'm European (sort of) and we like wagons.
  10. I agree, my hairy ass can't live without them.
  11. Thanks Dave, I should know more tomorrow.
  12. A new GME plant I might add.
  13. Here is the real problem with all this news, the general public sees all of this too and by now has determined that GM is going bankrupt and will steer clear of GM and all domestics, so now we are in a self fulfilling prophecy.
  14. Perhaps if they didn't use RWD to push, and instead used FWD to pull, everything would be resolved by now.
  15. No, what has been discussed was the U.S. Government's bailout plan for the North American Big 2.5. Not until recently has the Canadian government's financial help been added to the fervor. What I said wait and see to, was adding the Mexican, EU and I have a feeling even the Australian government will be hit up for a loan with the fate of Holden and Ford Down under hanging in the balance. That has not been in discussions for months, but it will be, oh it will be.
  16. Thanks, he seems to be going down hill slowly, 1st the stroke, now this, I really don't know how much more he can take. All I can say is thank God for frequent flyer miles, because back and forth from Germany to the USA can get expensive.
  17. I called someone from the plant today who works at EDS, were having dinner at my house in Hockessin tomorrow night, he said he has lots to tell me, and asked if I was here to buy a Kappa.
  18. Thanks much Pedro!
  19. Like I said, they may not be able to make payroll after 12/31/08 or 31/12/08 for you Pedro.
  20. Ahh Return Day, how I've missed those Sussex County Southern traditions. I honored his wishes and made sure he is as comfortable as I could. Thanks for asking.
  21. Hair of the Dog - Nazareth
  22. It's 70 degrees today here in Delaware, what a change from Germany, which has been in the 40's and 50s lately.
  23. GM will strong arm the US, Canadian, Mexican and even perhaps the EU governments to come to it's rescue. Wait and see.
  24. Snort
  25. Grazie per il vostro sostegno. Siete corretto, è meglio per la famiglia. And thank you too, saturndood.
