One year Jack Smith even sang Happy Birthday to me. And it's always in Wilmington, Delaware, again because I'm special! :rotflmao: If you go, eat in the Green Room, it's to die for!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did, and maybe it will help you take life a little slower and with more meaning. In July 2006, a short 3-minute movie was launched on the Internet called The Dash. Since then, over 40 million people from around the world have watched it, and over 20,000 a day continue to watch it as a result of people passing it along. The movie has been more successful than anyone could have ever imagined. More importantly, however, it has inspired many, many people to reflect on their lives and ask that all important question, 'Are my priorities where they should be?' I leave you with this movie and I hope you share it with those who are close to you. Click This Link to View: http://www.dashpoemmovie.com

Dave Guilford Automotive News April 28, 2008 - 4:36 pm ET DETROIT -- General Motors today moved to cut full-size truck production in North America by 138,000 units for the remainder of the year. GM will take out about 88,000 units of full-size pickup production and 50,000 units of full-size SUV production, the automaker said in a press release. GM said that it is eliminating one shift of production at its full-size pickup truck assembly plants in Pontiac, Mich.; Flint, Mich.; and Oshawa, Ontario; and its full-size SUV assembly plant in Janesville, Wis. The Pontiac and Flint pickup plants already are idled because of a parts shortage stemming from the UAW's strike at American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. The Janesville SUV plant is currently running one shift because of that strike. The Oshawa pickup truck plant has reopened temporarily with limited production. The decisions were made to bring production capacity more in line with market demand, GM said in a press release. Shift reductions will be effective on the following dates: • Flint Assembly (Heavy Duty Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra) -- July 14 •Janesville (Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL) -- July 14 • Pontiac Assembly (Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra) -- July 14 • Oshawa Truck (Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra) -- Sept. 8 " With rising fuel prices, a softening economy, and a downward trend on current and future market demand for full-size trucks, a significant adjustment was needed to align our production with market realities," said Troy Clarke, president of GM North America. Clarke said that with the market shifting toward cars and crossovers, GM is seeing strong sales of the new Chevrolet Malibu, Cadillac CTS, Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G6, Chevrolet Impala, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia. Clarke added that the company is continuing to explore options to increase car and crossover production. Link: http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...p;rssfeed=RSS31

What does that mean?

You knew as well as I did it was to late to stop the Pontiac G8 & Camaro, but where is your North American Chevy Zeta (Impala), Buick Zeta, Cadillac Zeta? Enjoy the Pontiac Zeta while you can, it won't be around all that long, and Camaro will go to Alpha! :AH-HA_wink:

Hell has frozen over, we actually agree.

I was told that OSU and Alpha Lambda didn't see eye to eye over the incessant drinking that was going on there. OSU had cracked down on all fraternities over drinking and what they considered abuse of pledges to fraternities. Some of the other fraternities had some of their pledges end up in the hospital at OSU. However my brothers at chapter Alpha Xi, say that the university president of OSU had personal issues with Theta Chi. All this was going on when I was in Mexico and Ecuador for GM, so I only heard bits and pieces. It would be great to have Theta Chi back on the OSU campus again.

That's never going to happen, expect official word on this in a month or two. :AH-HA_wink:

Gold star for you two!

Alpha Lambda! You?

All I'm going to say dude! :AH-HA_wink:

And now you know why there is no G8 Sportwagon.

Burried in the bowels of the Wilmington Plant, is a fully restored black 1947 Pontiac Silver Streak similar to the one pictured below. It was one of the 1st cars built at the plant and is considered a plant treasure. Poly, if your reading this, have you seen where it's hidden?

I think it means you have major issues! I had a dream last night too, here is how mine went: Well I was wandering along by the banks of the river When seven fat cars came up out of the Delaware, uh-huh And right behind these fine healthy vehicles came Seven other cars, that were skinny and vile, uh-huh Well the thin cars ate the fat cars which I Thought would do them good, uh-huh But it didn’t make them fatter like such A monster supper should Well the thin cars were as thin As they had ever, ever, ever been Well this dream has got me baffled Won’t you tell me what the Hell does it mean? :rotflmao:

David Barkholz Automotive News April 22, 2008 - 4:28 pm ET General Motors has won a two-day reprieve from a possible UAW local strike of its key Chevrolet Malibu assembly plant in Kansas City, Kan. Officials at UAW Local 31 agreed to allow negotiations to extend into Thursday, April 24, before a decision is made whether to walk out, said Local 31 President Jeff Manning. He said talks are progressing slowly. The 2,600 workers at GM's Fairfax assembly plant would not approve what GM is offering on some key issues, including seniority rights and job security. The Fairfax plant makes about 3,100 of the hot-selling Malibu sedans a week. GM has only a 37-day supply of the cars on dealership lots. Malibu sedans also are made at GM's Orion Township assembly plant in suburban Detroit. That plant has a local agreement. " We gave GM a great way to be profitable with our national agreement in September, but they're going for more in the local negotiations," Manning said. GM and several UAW locals have locked horns over the slowness of plant-level contract negotiations. Only 10 of 77 GM locals have local agreements, which deal with work-rule, seniority and other noneconomic issues not detailed in the master national contract. 6 plants threatened Six GM plants are under a strike threat over local bargaining issues. Workers at the Lansing Delta assembly plant near Lansing, Mich., have been on strike since late last week over their failure to get a local contract. The stoppage has interrupted production of the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook crossovers. And the rank and file at a GM stamping plant in Parma, Ohio, rejected a local contract agreement Friday, April 18, that officials at UAW Local 1005 had sent them. Local 1005 President Tito Boneta said today that the local would schedule a general union meeting to hear why workers had rejected the tentative agreement 61 to 39 percent. Boneta, who is running for re-election as local president May 6, said the union would regroup and probably return to negotiations with GM once the leadership had heard from members. In addition to Lansing Delta, Fairfax and Parma, GM also is under a strike threat at its key transmission plant in the Detroit suburb of Warren, Mich., and stamping plants in Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mansfield, Ohio. GM spokesman Dan Flores said GM continues to bargain in good faith to reach local agreements. Aaron Bragman of Global Insight Inc. is among the auto analysts who earlier had suggested that the UAW was using pressure from local GM strikes to try to draw the automaker into strike talks at American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. Little effect on GM That 2-month-old American Axle strike has hardly hurt GM. It has largely affected light-truck production -- slow-selling vehicles of which GM still has plenty in inventory. That notion still has some credence, Bragman said. But the local contract defeat at Parma and the haphazard way that locals are warning of strikes has called into question how highly organized the UAW effort is. " This may be about worker disaffection," Bragman said. " Workers were not thrilled about the national agreement, even though they approved it." The national agreement contained huge money-saving concessions for GM. Those included a lower new-hire wage that will pay nonproduction workers half the $28 an hour earned by veteran workers as well as a restructuring of health care benefits.
