  1. I leared to drive on my moms 2000 gls intrigue. We bought the car new in december of 99 and the cars is still running stong, with no maitenance at all besides oil changes about every 5k miles, 1set of brakes, 1 set of tires and a new batter at 90k miles. Needs a tune up now but this has been one bullet proof car. ITs earned a place in my moms heart as her favorite car and she ias a mid 50's women who from '85 to '99 always drove a loaded 98 regency and loved all three of them. At first she didnt like this car because of its size, now when my dad had her test drive a Lacross CSX to cosider replacment my mom decided it didnt messure up and that she would hold off and save money to uprage in 2-3 years to a new RWD based buick or maybe a new CTS.
  2. can this be bought for slightly older GM cars and installed at a dealership? I would love to get this for my '0 malibu SS
  3. lookin good Caddy the new CTS will really freshen up the look of the whole lineup.
  4. the GLS in 1999 debuted the 3.5 shortstar DOHC
  5. Im deffinelty on the Prep side here. I have very good taste in dress clothes which comes in handy since I am in court so much (since I am an hourly paralegal) I have suits from Hugo Boss, Expres and a few others (6 total) and while some retail at close to 600 I never spent more than 300 since I am a shrewed negotiator and always pay cash, you can tell which sales reps/ stores so I deal under the table. Dockers kakis I get on sale from bobs in bulk. Just bought 8 pairs today for 158 on sale with discount card. I ocassionaly go nuts a by a crazy expensive dress shrit tie combo if I see it and like it at nordstrom though I try to stay clear of there so I dont go broke lol. For what I call Prssentable/bar casual I where generic cargo kakis shorts with A&F tshirt or polo. I am close to the limit with A&F sizes though as I currently wear XL and they only go up to XXL. Thats one thing that pisses me off, Im not that big. Atually im not at all Fat, I am 5'10, 200lbs at about 9 percent body fat I just work out a lot. the t shirts stretch better but the polos i tend to fray the sleaves slightly just by wearing them. When im just hangin in my place I usually where gym type clothes, mesh shorts and a t shirt. Thats pretty much it
  6. i had sushi tioday and yes i ate with chopsticks, i only dropped one thing.
  7. Thanks all I drank very responsiably last night NOS mustbe calming down in my "old age"
  8. huh Satty, PONTIAC06 and I all have our birthday tommorow on July 27th. Oh Yeah, I will be 20 tommorow, no longer a teen but I still cant drink legally... like its ever stopped me before.
  9. actually the 2nd aurora was better priced than the competion and DID NOT require premium gas. Compare it to the ES 300 or RL of the time it coame off very well. v6 aurora had 215 hp and 235 ftlbs of tourque compared to the ES's 200, 200 (which must have been overated back in the day) And the RL had 225, 225 (also udoubtedly overated) then with the aurora you had the option of the 4.0 V8 which blew all of the FWD competition except for the infitinis out of the water. the auora also offered a lot of tech standard the other only offered as options or not at all. I think the aurora's sales didnt take off in the second gen like they could have because only a few months after it hit the street Olds, became a defunct brand on lifesupport. Advertising for the aurora never really ramped up because of this though I do remember some print adds from back in the day that were very nice. I liked this car so much I almost got one to replace my alero whe it died this year but I didnt have the cash to buy a used car up front and used car financing sucks.
  10. I still think the 3900 feels smoother than the 3800 in genral, my family has owned 6 3800 powered cars, both series 1 and 2 and a series 2 SC car also. The Regal SC which my aunt still has and which drive on ocassion is not as smooth. it doesnt have a rediculous amount of miles on it either and its had a recent tuneup. That being said Ive always respected the 3800 for its reliability and durability, the 3900 still has to prove itself in that respect. I feel the 3800 has a little bit deeper toruque tip in but one you hit 3000 rpm with the 3.9 it has all its torque on tap till about 5k rpm and it never gets rough all the way to redline.
  11. Im sorry but as a person whos has extensive experience owning and driving 3800 powered cars as a current owner of a 3900 powered malibu SS the 3900 is signifigantly smoother and better packageddue to its 60 degree size.
  12. evok, if you need any help/advice on Itellectual propert matter message me asI work in an IP firm.
  13. Fairfield is a very nice area, I live one town south of fairfield and went to highschool at fairfield prep on the fairfield U campus. Fairfield has some of the nicest best bang for the buck housing in fairfield county. It has a very nice beach and a good nighlife. On the note of it being expensive you have to remember if you live in fairfield county and have a job here your job will pay significantly more than a comperable position in the midwest or central states. Put it this way the average undergrad buisness degree will net you 40 grand a year with benifits right out of college. Very few people end up owning their houses in fairfield county. They ivest in the realestate and by the tme they are ready to retire you sell it and make a a large surplus on the apreciated land value than you move to much cheaper northern connecticut or to a southern state. Oh yeah its also less than an hour for NYC.
  14. pics tommorow!!!, though I wont be showing the right rear fender, land lords girlfriend backed into it and it wont be fixed till next week....
  15. Hi all, I am writing a review of my Malibu SS sedan. I got this car about 6 weeks ago and I love it more and more every time I drive it. Lets do this by categories like Dsuupr did… Exterior- In my opinion the normal Malibu, while very solid reliable transportation is about as boring a bread and butter sedan can get. The SS looks like a completely different car. The high polish 18 inch wheels really fill up the wheel wells, and look really nice when they are clean and shinny against my car’s black paint job. The new front clip looks very aggressive with a hint of Subaru styling. The rear end looks nicer with the absence of the chrome bar, a new rear bumper and huge stainless steel dual exhaust outlets (the car actually has dual mufflers unlike the “dual” G6 but I doubt it has true dual exhaust being a FWD transverse mounted car.) Overall the car looks pretty mean in black. Interior- The interior graphite colors with faux metal trim looks really nice. Dash material is nice, way better than any G6 model. Overall assembly of the interior is top notch with many cool standards like power adjustable pedals and tilt/telescoping steering wheel. The 3 spoke steering wheel is awesome, especially because of the steering wheel controls. My car has the sunroof which I enjoy though it didn’t come with the 6 CD changer which I wish it had. The stereo isn’t half bad though I feel that a higher end option should be offered, there isn’t one. My other interior gripe is I wish the car had a self dimming rearview mirror. The Sport seats are very comfortable and the leather bolstering is amazingly soft. The car is roomy for a midsize and with the back seats down I once transported 24 8 foot 2x4 beams quite easily. Driving impressions- This car is fast!! The 3900 absolutely hauls in this baby. I drove a G6 GTP auto the same day and the Malibu was noticeably faster, though it also had more torque steer probably because of the shorter wheel base. The 3900 is smooth and honestly has comparable NVH to many OHC v6 engines. With traction control off you can do an honest burn out, literally smoking the tires for 10 or more seconds while not going anywhere. The tranny is geared close, and never leaves you wanting for power. This comes at the price of highway mileage since its only a 4 speed. At 75 mph it turns over 2500 rpm and highway mileage can’t be much better than the estimated 26 mpg though its never been worse than that for me. City mileage is good, never turning over worse than the 19 rated and often more like 21. Handling is well above average for this class, though the car strikes a balance between no compromise handling and ride quality. The Malibu could benefit from a LSD to compensate for torque steer in the corners but it’s manageable, you just need both hands on the wheel. Steering feel is excellent in this car, better than an Accord in my opinion. Brakes are very crisp with linear brake feel though the car does nose dive a bit because of the size of the front rotors compared with the back, ABS pulsing is very swift and non obtrusive compared with late 90’s GM products. 0-60 Must be in the low 6 range and the dual exhaust sounds awesome at wide open throttle. Pro’s: Powerful engine, sleeper styling, quality assembly and feel. Con’s: Needs limited slip option, no heated seat option or auto dim mirror, so so mileage Verdict: A truly great car for the 24k price tag that could be absolutely awesome with a few more options, bring it on ’08 Malibu Weeks owned: 6 Miles driven: 4357
  16. Its becase the exhaust is much more restrictive on the g6 covertable because of hefty sway bars and crossmmbers, decreasing the power of the engine. hte AFM 3900 also has different HP at 233because of the heavy lifters and revised powerband.

    Pictures!

lol I got the follow up to that jok blu. if there's no grass on the field... PLAY IN THE MUD!
  18. this car is priced very well, I think the aura will bea hit.
  19. as a straigt person who is a very devout catholic for the most part, I have no problem with people being gay and I count one gay person, My immediate supervisor asa very good friend. Thats why wwhile im still a registered republican I have changed my myspace and facebook stuff to political views as libertarian, since I most deffinetly am fiscal conservative and while my personal social views trend twards the right I feel I have no right to impress these beliefs on people or judge them by this. I judge people by how they treat me, and our common intrests, not on their beliefs or lifestyle.
  20. thats horrible man, my prayers go out to you. I'm going to a party at my boses and I will watch the NYC fireworks from the roof of his building. Then I will have hungover work the next day, mid week 4th of july's suck ass
  21. does it have the 2.4 in it?
  22. I meant for the auto option make everything the new 6 speed. deffinetly keep the manny in the CTS, offer it as an option in the XLR and maybe even the sts
  23. ok, I think we all agree that the NG CTS is amazing. in order to reinvigorate the srx and sts till a replacment comes along cadillac should do this. Take the 300 hp 3.6 DI and replace all other v6 optioned cars with it. 6 speed auto o everything, speed the DI northstar to production making about 360-380 hp and toss it i everything with a northstar, and tweak and tune the SC northstar for 500 hp so cadd ycan matc bmws numbers. Give the STS a moderate MCE rewroking and maybe a slight one to the XLR and your fully competitive again till the next NG products come out. What do you guys think?
  24. my '06 malibu SS is getting a tad better tha nthe sticker now that its broken in mostly. sticker is 19 city 26 highway. Im averageing 25 a tank with a 50 50 driving split so thats pretty good. 3900 isnt as bad as its cracked up to be by the epa.
  25. loos pretty slick NOS, gotta get my 'Bu SS cleaned up again before I post, blac cars are a bitch to keep clean and there is a rediculous aount of polen in the greater NY area, ive had the car since last wednesday polished washed and waxed from the dealer and by saturday the black paint looked green it had so much crap on it.
