Yeah Easton is really nice, Norwalk though is much more middle/ working class compared to the surrounding towns. I work across from GE headquarters in Norwalk as a paralegal.

Heh, just hoping to move the house myself so I can get the 2.5 percent of the comission. My Dad was a senior partner at a intelelctual property law firm in NYC for close to 30 years. He has MS though and the slog of litigation and trial law was more than he could manage so we bought a house in Guilford CT, up a little past New Haven, because he works part time as a law professor/ License consultant at Yale Univ. So we got a nice new spec house customized the way we want it. Im a little suprised there arent more people in the tristate area on this board. We seem underrepresented considering the population density here. I guess its because we're in import country.

Hi Everyone, My folks are selling their house in Wesport CT so I'm posting here if anyone is even remotley interested. If I ge the sale of the house I get half the comission. So here's the deal. The house is about a 5000 sqft colonial. It has a legal apartment which has a mastersized bedroom and stuyd/small bedroom, A full kitchen and spacious living room and raparound front deck. The apartment bathrrom is large and has both a stall shower and a rout iron claw foot tub. The apartment was added in 2002 and is perfect as either an in-law appartment or as a source of additional income. The main house was built in the mid 60's and has been through several renevations. The main first floor has a large formal dining room, Living room and den area as well as a half bath, eat in kitchen and 2 car garage. The second floor has 3 large bedrooms, smallest is about 14x14 1 bathroom and the master bedroom and bathroom with walk-in closet. There is an anotehr addition on the far side of the house adding a bonus room, that is vurrently divided with one side used as a bedroom and the other as a sitting room plus a full bathroom. (the wall in the bonus area can be removed as it is not load bearing) Also there is a seperate staircase to a bedroom and full bath added as part of this addition over the garage. The house is oil heated and the furnace water heater central air and all other meachanical parts of the house were completley replaced with the 2002 addition of the apartment. The house sits on a 2.15 acre lot and is beutifully landscapped with an inground, heated pool in the back. The house is 10 minutes from the Westport station which gives about a 50 minute trip to NYC. As a resident of the town of Westport you would get access to Compo beach on the sound at the mere cost of a 25 dollar parking pass. The asking price is a very competitive $1,550,000. If anyone has any questions please post here and I will respond. If you are in any way actually considering this house please PM me your cell number. -Dan PS. This is my G8 if one of you guys buy it!

I am more curious to know what they were testing in that SRX trogen horse of a mule. Lets focus here people we factually know the SRX is currently dead, though as we have scene wth other stuff GM can change its minds when it feels like it. It's probably testing the new northstar or maybe even a new LS variant to be used in a different V-series car. What really throws me is why the hell does it have buick venti-ports on teh fenders? I mean seriosuly what are those there for...

I agree with everything Northstar said. The return on investment just wouldnt be worth it. If you were buying a healthy brand for 5 billion Id say go for its a no brainer. If the company was damaged but has a good sales volume that you could take over without assuming too much debt Id say take it. Chysler group is neither of these. ITs a freaking nightmare. Billions and billions of debt that GM would have to assume, Even more UAW issues, Too many plants and emplyees, large groups of noncompetitive products near the end of their life cycles and even worse, brand new products that can barley compete like the sebring/avenger twins. GM has made so much progress but is not out of the woods itself, this would plunge them down so deep into debt and while in pure sales volume they might stay in front on Toyota they would be loosing boatloads of money have huge product line overlaps to reconcile, would have to deal with new sales channels mass product ellimintations and possible division ellimination and we say how xpensive that was for GM to pay off the Olds dealers. There just isnt enough benifit here to make it worth it. Im not hating on Chrysler like Dodgefan accused me of in another thread, Iam just a GM fan first and foremost and it would not at all be in GM's best intrest to absord Chrsyler. Like Northstar said, the best thing for GM would be to try and steel LX sales for zeta and RAM and SUV sales for the GMT 900s by letting Chrsyler wither and maybe even die by letting it become a resource strapped independent company or suffer a bad merger with Hundai or someone else. In which case GM could jocky for that other company's sales losses. -Dan -

I beg of you GM, Let the company wither and die, don't take on more problems. Maybe take jeep to pair with hummer but screw everything else, even the minivans. What you should really do is gear up to snag all the former crysler buyers they can. Offer special conquest incentives to owners of Crysler products. Fight for all those RAM sales. Fight for the LX sales with Zeta. If GM could caputere a larger percentage of the former customer base they could likley stay ahead of Toyota sales wise but profitablly as this could bring in a large percentage of retail buyers suddenly. -
You shouldn't be posting! work work work... I had a snow day from work last week. I played risk with all my roomates. I won so it was a very well spent snowday.

The Scoop on The G8 Being built in North America
intrigued replied to hyperv6's topic in Heritage Marques
I see the Impala at 100-150k the Lucerne at about 100-120k and the Camaro at about 100k. I dont think the DTS is going to go zeta. There is a lot of talk of the DTS and STS being rolled into a Sigma 2 7/s class sized car that would be priced closer to the 5/e class, much like the CTS is closer in size to those but cheaper. I'd say there probably will be room for the G8 but will the sales numbers make the shift of production worthwile? I'd say possibly but pontiac is having a hard time coming up with sales successes latley. I love the G8 though and will get myself one wherever it comes from... -

He hit a deep pothole going about 80. IT we're not sure what exactly it screwed up suspension wise but the ford dealer kept putting him off tellinghim the car rode fine. Then they charged an arm and a leg to try and fix it replacing one shock or somthing likt that. No difference. He took the car to 2 different shops and ended up replacing all the shocks and springs and one of the control arms and the bushings. It rides a lot better now but still isnt quite as solid as when it came from the factory. It was largley ford's help or lack thereof in getting it fixed that pissed him off. Whenever we have gone to goodwrench with our GMs weve never had any problems like that. Plus he really dislikes the 4.0 v6 after friving my 3.9 malibu. The 4.0 is so laggey on throttle repose and never seams to be in much of a rush to build power. -
great pictures of a hot car, cant wait to take delivery like the day it sarrives at my nearest dealer.

So my family is going to go be doing a major overhall of our car fleet. in the next 6-18 months almost EVERTHING will be replaced. Current fleet. My car - loaded 2006 SS Malibu sedan My brothers car- well optioned 2006 Mustang v6 with pony package and leather. My sister in laws car- well optioned 2006 Saturn vue fwd v6 My parents car - Loaded (besides sunroof) 2000 Oldsmobile intrigue gls My dad doesnt drive anymore as he has MS so he sold his 02 alero 4 banger and isnt looking to replace it. We've all just moved to a really cool brand new house that customized and once the old one sells (please God let it sell sooner rather than later) We'll be in a great financial postion. About 1/5 the debt we used to have and its a much nicer bigger newer house, just 40 minutes further north from NYC. The intrigue is the trooper of the fleet. It's been the BEST car we've ever owned bar non. the 3.5 shortstar is by far the most refined GM v6 made till the HF family debuted. ITs good on gas and delivers smooth power with 3800 like tourque. The car right now has close to 100k miles and this is the maitenance we've done. 1 new battery. 1 new set of pads and rotors. 1 new set of tires. Thats it nothing else. Car needs a new suspension and a tuneup and new pads but its been a real trooper. Always delviered suprisingly good milage and is surpsingly fast and refined when you get on the throttle. Truly one of Old's best cars in the alst 20 years. It it going to be replaced by an aura XR or a 08 malibu ltz with the 3.6. My folks are fine with a midsize and the epsilons have finally grown up enough to replace the intrigue and keep them happy. My mom's torn. She want to ditch the intrigue before it needs a ton of servicing but loves the car. ITs been too good to us! My car, ahh my car. My alero which I had loved was mortally wounded in terms of power stearing when it injested a rebarbed shaft through the pwoer stearing system. I didnt want to sink 5 grand itno replacing everything that was damaged on a car worth at best on trade so I talked my local chevy dealer into giving me 5500 and taking it as is. I got my malibu SS. IT doenst handle as well as the alero but thats not surprisng sconsdiering its heft. ITs fast but the tourque steer off a start is rediulous. Ive driven aura XRs and realized its probably the short wheelbase on the 'bu that screw up the traaction. Either way its time to replace it. It was a compromise car to replace the alero. I really wanted a RWD midsize but couldnt afford a CTS at the time and GM had nothing else out in this catagory. I'm making very good money now and have decided that THE month the G8 comes out it will be my new car, as long as it drives like the AU mags describe. Im saving already and will have enough saved to wirte a check and buy it outright, figuring I get at least 9 grand trade on the 'bu which I feel is conservative as kbb puts it at 13-16k now. Im going to get a GT with all the trimmings, cant wait to see the color shoices and other options. Il likely be loading it to the gills. The saturn vue we'll be keeping. Its a great vehcile, versitle, good on gas, not bad looking and actually really fast with the 3.5 honda unit. My brothers mustang is turning out to be a lemon. Suspension got hoplessly f@#ked up after hitting a bad pothole. He is embarressed that his car gets owned by my 3.9 malibu when it gets traction and he doesnt like the live axle rear. He's going to trade it on a new Camaro. Not knowing what the drive trains are he can't decide what to get yet but he plans on getting a car with about a 26k msrp, so we're both hoping for a 5.3 ls4 as a base v8 option. Our family's been floating from brand to brand since olds stopped but at least all of us but my brother have stayed loyal to gm and he is coming back to the fold as he wont by an asian or eurpoean brand but it now thoroghly PO'd with ford. -
I used to get sick of it to. Than I decided Id try telling her everything she asked and it blew her away. For example... Mom: why are you sleeping in so late Saturday afternoon? (after I dont answer my cell or call her back till 3) Me: Well mom its because I ran up a 200 dollar bar tab last night and half of that was for myself. Mom: You did what (gets angry at me and tells me off) Me: Would you rather I had lied about it? I can just not tell you next time. Mom: Well, I guess as long as you never drive back, you dont need to tell me about this. Me: ok. Sometime being completley honest will scare them into silence. Of course there are still things I dont tell, like whether or not I had a female companion for the night.

in the mid 90s Olds had the 30 day exchange policy. My folks used it in 94 when they got their regency elite that year. They had originally bought a moderatley optioned "cherry black" one but decided it was to close on colour to their previous car. They exchanged it for a beige one in about 2 weeks. Worked great for them, only putting about 100 miles on the first car. My dad asked out of curiosity if they were still doing it when we bought the intrigue in december of 99 nd they gave us a resounding "hell no." Evidently a lot of people were abusing the policy, running up 1500 miles or more than exchanging the car.

Dsuupr, you didnt like the Acadia? OR you liked it so much that you want to see what else GM has coming out lambda wise? I have to say I love the olf family pic with all the last generation Oldsmobile lined up. Reminds me that you were once known as Alero OSV here.

Northstar, Im almost positive it stated a 450 hp figure on the 2008 vette updates list in the chevy forum.
-
AS you all probably know the 08 vette has the new 6.2 450 hp LS3 v8 standard replacing the 6.0 400 hp LS2. Anybody know anything about the LS3 besides the 450 hp figure? Tourque, redline, power band etc? Does it have DOD or VVT or both? What cars do you think it will end up in as all of the recent LS2 cars are dead. No more SSR, GTO, or CTS V. The future CTS-V is supposed to get at least 500 hp so this engine won't end up there. Will this be exclusivley a Vette engine? What do you guys think...

Hey everyone. At kinda the mid point of teh auto show season I was wondering if anyone made any revisions to their plans for near future (or more distant for that matter) car purchases. I had said I wanted to get the new CTS this coming fall. Well, scratch that. I love the new CTS. I think its great. But While I could easily afford a lightly optioned one with the base 3.6 at around 35k there is now way I can save up the money to buy a loaded 3.6 DI like I want without taking on payments which is a big no no for me as Ill be heading back to school full time next fall. The Pontiac G8 was made for me it seams. Loaded it will likley come in at less than 35k. IT will have a v8 with considerably more hp and tourque than the DI 3.6. It will have the 6 speed auto. NAV, a great interior and is supposed to drive better than a BMW 5er according to the AU reviews. I love the looks and it fits my budget without compromising. I HATE buying cars without options I want just to afford it. So anyone else change their minds since the autoshow season has started? I doubt I'll be the only one. We should revisit this one more time when the season is over...
-
I belive that is the base price for a v6 model. I imagine the base GT will go for about 29k with maybe 3-4k in options.
-
Yeah but is should have at least 400 hp and 400ftlbs. I know its not that much weaker but it would have been nice if it could KILL the 5.7 charger instead of just beating it. It'll still be quick but with all of the old LS2 cars going out of production or having the engine replaced it would have been great to see the capacity used in the G8. I guess they are just totally getting rid of the LS2 in favor of the LS3. We'll probably see that in the G8 in like 2 years. The really good news is a loaded one can't be more than 35k if the pricing info we've seen is right. That means I'll be able to afford a loaded GT
-
dammit, why cant it have the LS2!!!! it wouldve been perfect than. errrrr.... guess ill ahve to settle for halfway perfect. At least it gets the 6 speed auto... I communte in to much traffic to bother with a stick.
-
Looks amazing. very agresive yet a little understated. I love it. Interior, looks great as well except for the colour combo. But we only have 1 interior pic so can't really judge it yet. The only thing I can be elt down on is drivetrains. It better get at least the LS2 in top trim. The reviews for the chasis in AU are awsome. They say it drives like a 5 series should drive, like the last generation pure driving maching 5's not the over tecknoed ones we have today.

common no speculation on the new engine?
