  1. 2010 Chevy Silverado XFE updated to achieve best-in-class 22 mpg highway The XFE model's 5.3-liter V8 now has variable valve timing, optimized shift pattens in its 6-speed transmission, and new tweaks for its Active Fuel Management system that enables the truck to run on four cylinders at cruising speeds for longer. 2. I'm glad everything is going to work out with you and CARS. (I will no longer refer to it by its "other" name)
  3. I think the loads of bad press and the fact that even people that are 100% out of touch with the automotive industry know where the money is going. She said to me today when I told her cash for clunkers was done "well i guess people won't be able to get big discounts on Hyundais and toyotas anymore" that is quite telling that maybe they didn't do this program right.
  4. 98, I don't think he is Eric Stevens. This is what Eric Stevens looks like:
  5. Maybe they will let you youtube the engine fail. . . No, in all seriousness, I like the car. I remember when they switched to the aero back for NASCAR.
  6. Yeah, the 3800 II is a ULEV and the 85 civic is not.
  7. Well, the EV1 was .19 and I bet they are planning on trying to get as close as possible to that number.
  8. You know YJ, you could trade that car in under the CARS program and get $4500 for it and If you buy a Dodge or Toyota, they will double your money!
  9. Didn't Car and Driver estimate what the drag was going to be on the Volt? Bonniface says it is second best to the EV1.
  10. Why are people so against rental car companies? When I rent a car for work I would rather have something that I am familiar with (GM) then a Nissan or Honda or Toyota.
  11. Didn't Cadillac used to have a red jewel color?
  12. Amazon.com is now being offered as another shopping choice for Cheers & Gears members. Just click on the link to amazon.com or search for your automotive products via our Cheers & Gears widget to find all the products that you need. Every time you purchase something through our link to Amazon.com, you are helping to improve Cheers & Gears features and services. Amazon.com is a great retail outlet that has over time, expanded their offerings to include almost any product you could think of or want to purchase. With their free super-saver shipping on most products in Amazon's inventory, Amazon will directly ship your purchases to your home or business. Amazon members review most of the products sold by Amazon and third parties, (I review items I purchase) which allows you to make an intelligent, well informed decision. Amazon's prices are also usually much cheaper then the price you would pay in a store. For the past two years, I have bought practically everything I can on Amazon. From gifts to shampoo to automotive accessories and even a barbecue. I am personally sold on Amazon and their great prices and service. I love shopping at Amazon so much, that I have upgraded to a Prime Membership, which for an annual fee, allows me and my family to receive our items faster with free two-day shipping on products Amazon ships and also allows me to upgrade to $3.99 per-item one-day shipping as well. I hope that if you already do shop at amazon, you will first stop here at C&G and click on the link and if you don't shop at Amazon, you have been missing a lot!. Additionally, you can shop for automotive parts and accessories from directly within Cheers and Gears. Orders and fulfillment are handled by Amazon. Just visit the "C&G Auto Parts - by Amazon" link in the navigation box at the upper left hand side of the front page.
  13. I like how he equated the aero wars to the HP wars of the 60s. Sounds like NASCAR almost.
  14. A lot of information to digest there.
  15. Nice looking! I had to do a double take on the timing of the photos because the before were done during Christmas and the after were done now. Bare trees and snow vs. Full trees and grass.
  16. When you say showroom condition and the car has the HT4100 in it, it leaks oil. I remember when my mom got an 85 Seville and all we heard were the stories about the 4.1 and how they were being constantly replaced by the dealer because they were faulty. Her's lasted 135,000 miles before the valves started to tap.
  17. TheCaptain can find you anything you want. He is an excellent computer guru.
  18. You know they are tired of renting space at the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles where they are storing all their cars!
  19. No Jamesen and pinball and then have a raw egg when you are done and go to work!
  20. The main reason why the drinking age is 21 in America is because the Federal Government told the states that if they didn't raise it to 21 they would not get any highway money.
  21. post of the month
  22. Croc - I know what a long island ice tea is, but what is a long islander?
  23. cheese on it? toasted? .... oh, sorry, that's subway
