  4. Small Actions, Cleaner Air * Refuel in the evening. Heat and sunlight convert gas fumes into ground-level ozone. You can reduce ozone pollution by refueling in the evening. This gives gas vapors a chance to dissipate overnight, making it less likely that they’ll contribute to ozone the following day. * Stop at the click. Overfilling your gas tank increases the likelihood of spills and can damage your car’s emission controls. Remove the nozzle from your gas tank when it shuts off automatically. * Drive friendly. Speeding, rapid acceleration and hard braking can lower your gas mileage by as much as 5 percent in town and 33 percent on the highway. * Adopt a no-idling policy. If your car isn’t moving for more than 30 seconds, turn off your engine! You’ll save money on gas and prevent volumes of car exhaust, which contributes to local air pollution, from being emitted into the air. * Avoid excess loads. For every extra 100 pounds you haul in your car, you’ll reduce your gas mileage by 1 to 2 percent. * Use the cruise. Maintaining a constant speed with cruise control will help conserve fuel. Using overdrive gears will also save gas by slowing engine speed and reducing engine wear. * Check the air in your tires. Keeping tires properly inflated can improve your gas mileage by 3 percent — or about 18 gallons of gas per year for the average driver. * Replace old filters. Replacing a clogged air filter can improve your gas mileage by 10 percent, or about 55 gallons per year. Be sure to check all filters (oil, gas, and air) regularly and make sure they remain in good condition. * Have regular tune-ups. This will save you an average of 4 percent, or about 23 gallons per year. Never ignore a check engine or other warning light. * Make simple replacements. Switching to a newer gas cap can save you 30 gallons per year. * Check all fluids regularly and change them according to your owner’s manual. Simply using the correct weight of oil can save you 1–2 percent, or 9 gallons per year. * Quiz your mechanic. He or she should be familiar with modern emission control systems.
  5. It was obviously designed to limit emission of raw gasoline aerosols which are exponentially more dangerous than exhausted gasoline aerosols .
  6. Did you know that the 7-slot grill is a registered trademark of Jeep? Also, did you know that Hummers had 7 slot grills and were allowed to have them because the trademark office said the Hummer was based on the HUMVEE and the HUMVEE had a 7 slot grill.

  11. I can't even remember how long I have been coming here. We all know we can trace back to the great crash of 2005 though. I know I was visiting the site in college. . .
  12. I agree the Grand Cherokee is a very luxurious vehicle. I even suggested it to a Lexus RX owner to check out.
  13. Their websites are terrible. I'm guessing some of the equipment listings are that way for legal reasons, but the other stuff you mention is not acceptable. On Cadillac for instance I don't think they have any images pod their platinum level vehicles either. Nit having all the interior colors to preview is unacceptable. I remember a time when Cadillac brochures had paint chips and faux leather in them for viewing.
  14. The rims alone have made this an automatic desktop wallpaper!
  15. I see the badge, but that proves nothing! Where are the super awesome 3D movies you shot with your new powerful camera!
  16. Cadillac Returns To Racing With CTS-V Coupe Two teams set to compete in SCCA World Challenge GT Series GM Media Cheers and Gears Picture Gallery of CTS Racer at NAIAS * Racecar based on award-winning CTS-V Series line * Program designed to validate, enhance Cadillac performance * Andy Pilgrim, Johnny O'Connell signed as Cadillac drivers DETROIT – Cadillac announced today it will return to racing in 2011 with a race-prepared version of its CTS-V Coupe competing in the Sports Car Club of America World Challenge, North America's top production-based racecar series. The move returns Cadillac to a series where it competed from 2004 to 2007. Competing in the GT Class with the CTS-V Sport Sedan, Cadillac captured the Manufacturer's Championship in 2005 and 2007 and the Driver's Championship in 2005. Cadillac will field two teams in the upcoming SCCA World Challenge GT Class with a racecar based on the CTS-V Coupe. The CTS-V line, which also includes the CTS-V Sedan and CTS-V Wagon, was recently named to Car and Driver magazine's 10 Best list for 2011. "Returning to racing in the SCCA World Challenge is a great way to demonstrate the performance and capability of the CTS-V Coupe," said Don Butler, vice president for Cadillac marketing. "The racecars in this series are production based, which allows us to validate our performance against the best of our competitors on the track, and not just the showroom." Cadillac is working with Pratt & Miller, a New Hudson, Mich., engineering firm which specializes in motorsports, to develop the CTS-V Coupe racecar. While some of the production CTS-V components will be modified due to the unique demands of racing or to meet the SCCA series' technical rules, every effort is taken to maintain as much production content as possible. "The SCCA World Challenge lends itself well to a natural transfer of knowledge," said Jim Campbell, GM vice president for Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. "The series will become a key test-bed for Cadillac. We anticipate using what we learn on the racetrack to ensure the V-Series stays on the cutting-edge of performance." The first event in the SCCA World Challenge is March 25-27 in St. Petersburg, Fla. Johnny O'Connell, a three-time GT1 champion in the America Le Mans Series, and Andy Pilgrim, who won the 2005 SCCA World Challenge GT class in a Cadillac, will be behind the wheel of the CTS-V racecars. Introduced for the 2003 model year, the CTS-V has quickly earned a reputation among luxury sports car buyers. For the 2011 model year, Cadillac added the CTS-V Coupe and the CTS-V Sport Wagon to the CTS-V Sport Sedan, creating an impressive family of performance vehicles. The CTS-Vs feature Brembo brakes, a supercharged 6.2L V8 delivering 556 horsepower and a Magnetic Ride Control suspension system that can read and react to the road 1,000 times a second. Started in 1944, the SCCA organizes and supports racing at all levels from amateur to professional. The World Challenge series is designed to provide teams, manufacturers and aftermarket suppliers a competitive production-based race series in which to prove their products. The races follow a 50-minute maximum time limit, with the number of laps and total distance determined by track configuration, lap times and race conditions.
  17. Pics, or it didn't happen.
  18. I bought Icons last year for my Grand Prix, still work great. I think it helps if you use rainx too. My mom's cadillac needed wipers this year. Funny story. We were in the car parts store buying some power steering fluid and dexcool. When we left, it started raining and my mom went to turn on her wipers. They sucked. I said "Shoot, you need to buy some wipers" my mom says "where do you buy wipers at" I said "at the store we were just in." So we turned around and went looking for her wipers. Turns out, the Cadillac wipers are behind the counter in the specialty wiper section. She got some Icons too.
  19. the RX has been the same for the most part for at least 5 years. People buying in this segment have specific wants and style is not really a top priority.
  20. #10 exists. I have seen it in the flesh. Flying Car
  21. I just bought an Asus Republic of Gamers computer. It looks like a stealth bomber.
  22. Croc- the reason why all but one (the Converj) are RWD based, is because for the most part, FWD concepts make it into production.
  23. Hyper you have a good theory there. Cadillac is sane luxury.
  24. Thanks to the explosive SRX growth and the steady growth of the CTS. I showed an SRX to somebody I know who has an RX and he was really impressed. There are free agents to be had out there.
