  1. have Word 2000 and I am creating a document that has a "fill in the blanks" type feeling to it. My question is, is there a way to have lines that you can put text onto without the line moving because all you did was something like this "_______________". To put it another way if this is hard to understand and you really have the kindness in your heart to help . I just need something that can be a line with words on it, but like a template. not like this "_______hello______"
  2. I enjoyed reading DeLorean's book when I did. Also read a few books by a USA Today writer about roger smith and jack smith. Don't remember the titles, but I think I could figure them out if i put my mind to it. Good Read there!
  3. It just reminds me of the Dodge Diplomat.
  4. Nice! Two american companies working together! I drove buses in college and Gillig is the best... made in Hayward CA and owned by americans! GM and Gillig are a great pair. Too bad GM still doesn't make bus chassis too.
  5. Wow..... made it to clearwater..... Have a few comments.... my Dodge is at the dealership because of somebody else's electrical snafu that they did to my truck... have a F350 diesel pulling my truck right now..... I give mad props to all of the big three for building a one-ton truck that can pull the weight that I'm pulling... weighed in at 23,000 lbs today and the dodge and ford pull like champs.... so i can deduce that the chevy would too with the class leading duramax and allison transmission. Fly.... thrus april 6th... threshers stadium from 4 to 7 tomorrow... free event and ill be there if you want to come and check it out.

  7. Hey everybody... the internet in my wonderful Radisson Suite doesn't work cause I'm so far away from the router or somerthing so I am writing to check in here. There are so many GM cars here! I love it (but it must be all the rental cars in town for the Barrett Jackson auction) But there are tons and tons of landu and fake tops.... saw a chevy malibu today with a fake convervtable top! WBP is great and we are on to clearwater next wednesday (fly send me a PM or something if you are interested in doing dinner in clearwater) Thanks for the sig sly.... i have it posted now. talk to you all soon Justin
  8. I have a grand prix GT, so its similar to a monte.... my advice, find the high sport version of the SS w/o the supercharger...... all the SC does is make you use premium fuel and its one more thing that needs service and can break. My car has 200hp and its sporty......but nothing compared to a V8... i drove a S/C grand prix one time and couldnt tell that much of a difference.
  9. That mule doesn't really look that much different from the current model. I have seen plenty here in the past few weeks and it looks basically the same. Josh-- i was going to ask how you put a small block in the STS then i answered my own question CTSv DUH! lol
  10. It's not SBC anymore its at&t now! Gosh!
  11. here is my pic Rollin' on 8" yo!!!
  12. Ok, maybe I need to help everybody out here a bit. The Nextel Cup Series (what most people think of when you say NASCAR) will still run large coupe/sedan models. They are developing a new car right now that will be much larger and more boxy than the current one. The Busch Series (which is usually on tv on saturdays) currently runs cars that are just a tad smaller than cup cars are right now....... NASCAR wants to run the pony cars in this series. At least, thats what the article says.
  13. Full Article: Changes To Come - Yahoo Excerpt from Article: According to a manufacturer source, NASCAR officials have floated one solution to the apparent problem to the series' manufacturers. It involves changing the cars that race in the series from the current models being run in the Nextel Cup Series to smaller, sportier ones. The current Busch Series cars are slightly smaller versions of their Nextel Cup cousins. In the past, the Busch Series used makes of cars not used in the Cup series, as well as V-6 engines instead of Cup V-8s, but now the cars used in the two series are more alike. If the two series ran cars that differed more from each other, it would greatly limit what Cup drivers and teams could learn in the Busch Series and apply to the next day's Cup race, thus making racing Busch a less attractive proposition. A change back to smaller cars could have Chevrolet fielding the new retro Camaro (scheduled for 2009) and Dodge running its new Challenger (scheduled for 2008). Pontiac could return to NASCAR to run its new, smaller GTO, Ford would field its highly-successful redesigned retro Mustang, and Toyota could run a Celica or its future replacement. Initial reaction among the manufacturers has been very positive. Any changes would be instituted well after the new Car of Tomorrow is fully integrated into the Nextel Cup Series, which currently is scheduled to happen in 2009.
  14. I live in Fresno..... almost every county in the valley has double digit unemployment numbers. The union I belong to is a White Collar teachers union right now. I have and still do work for non-union employers and I am an independent contractor in many indevaors. But I have a college degree and am on my way to getting a professional degree as well. It is possible to have good pay and good relationship in non-union shops.... but everybody I know that is a member of a union is better off than a non union counterpart that has a similar job. Service industrys are double edged knifes though.... on one hand you could work for EA or Google and have a great job and salary. (but most of those jobs require a college or professional degree) or on the other hand you could work for Walmart or McDonalds and have to still be on food stamps and medicare or some other form of public assistance.
  15. Ok, here is the deal about teachers. Teachers are paid, in california at least, only the months that they work. Their salaries can be split to pay over a 12 month period. I find it very troubling that the MOST important investment in our future, the teaching of children is a lower priority as far as pay scales as to paying prison guards (who dont have more than a HS degree). Teachers that don't perform need to be sanctioned. But so do administration and PARENTS. How do you sanction an non performing parent?
  16. if you have a huge supply of workers unemployed then the demand for that worker will be low wages like wal mart and other jobs that have no future or ability to support even themselves. You need money to buy things. I don't know about you but its pretty hard to buy much on 9.00 an hour. Thats how much I made while I was working my way thru college. No way could I buy a new car or a home or even a new television set for that matter after I got done paying my bills. Unions keep wages up and heathcare around. The reality is that you can't expect everybody to graduate from college. You need work for these people to do or they turn to crime or welfare. Give them work, give them a real wage, then they can buy things. In order to make money, you have to spend money. Product is important. Costco is a prime example. They have the best product, the best prices, and they take care of their workers. Thats why you will NEVER see me step foot in a Sam's Club.
  17. How is the UAW part of the problem? All they want is what is best for their membership. Maybe the problem is that they haven't been able to organize the other plants that are being built because right now our country is in dire straits when it comes to employment for the people that do not hold a College Degree or higher. I care about people first and foremost. If you dont have people then who cares how cool the new Tahoe or GTO is. Who is going to buy that stuff if nobody has a job or enough money to spend on things besides food and medicine? Bottom line is that there are two things right now that are keeping this economy from dumpster city...... low mortgage rates (which are going away and are causing housing prices to go so high that people can't afford them anymore) and the iraq war that is providing the military industrial complex with GDP boosts. The county that I live in has 15% unemployment and if toyota were to set up shop here (doubtful as this is california and they wouldnt want to put up with the environment and workers comp issues) people would be LINED UP for a mile to work for 9.00 bucks an hour and be happy. Supply and demand is something that works in labor as well.
  18. I am pro union and a proud member of a union. I just think it is a matter of time before the cycle of the American people shifts back to union involvement. As history will tell.... when unions go away the rich get richer and the poor get poorer until the inbalance causes major problems. Unions are what keep people employed and satisfied with their standard of living. Most people don't realize that even if they are not part of a union, that it's because of unions as to why they make what they make. Health care is going to increasingly become a huge problem as the baby boomers age and require more medical attention and hopefully somebody can do something about it and make it better for all. I just think its funny how America now looks down upon GM and Ford and any other company that has heavy union involvement as being bad business people. With the help of the unions, these companies have done the right thing as much as they could to help create a true middle and upper-middle class in this country. Who is going to buy all this stuff when everybody is working at Wal-Mart for min wage and no health care? For a country thats tied to productivity and consumerism... we sure are not giving our population the tools (money) to keep the cycle going.
  19. Another thing I noticed too was that there wasnt one clock in his house that had the same time on it. I guess when you are the Flave it doesnt matter what time it is.
  20. The Cadillac dealer in Woodland is priceless.... thye put the Kias right next to the Cadillacs go figure.
  21. Well there are two kinds of people in this world...... parents and babymakers. Not saying person mentioned in first post is one or the other, just saying that those are the two types of people.
  22. thats the kind of thing that makes me want to buy a car. Cool music, wild graphics and HORSEPOWER.
  23. hogan knows best was a good show. didnt hurt any that hogan has a good sense of humor and is overprotective.
  24. how many of those people do you think actually drive something made by GM? I wonder if they get a car or something for doing that.
