  1. Load rating may also be another reason for the wheel/tire combinations. In order to get certain payload ratings, you need to have a load rating on the tires that can support that amount of weight. My question is, why does GM still use a steel wheel with a "dog dish" like hub cap and not have factory polished wheels? Ford does, and dodge uses a full plastic/chrome hub on its wheels.
  2. With the new EPA and CARB emissions standards on diesel engines starting in 07 MY, I would be very careful as to what I did to the exhaust of any new diesel truck. A lot of the aftertreatment is dependent on mufflers and flow of the exhaust and the reason it looks the way it does may be because of that.
  3. You know, im really slacking in the photo department cause my mom just bought a 2006 STS too thats really hot..... I will be driving to all the locations and I will take pics of the trucks and the jeep and everything.... I will post my locations and dates when i get them and maybe somebody can come out and say hi.
  4. So yeah... I am doing something for Jeep here in a few weeks. Going to be visiting almost every major city in the US from october to december. The new 4dr jeep wrangler is the product that i will be displaying.... its exciting to get into the automotive marketing finally. Will keep everybody updated on whats going on when i get more info.
  5. I dont think anybody has given the obvious answer of Nevada yet. They have almost no taxes there and their laws are pretty forgiving as long as you are not in the casino business.
  6. Back in the 50s and 60s and into the 70s, GM produced V-Drive transmissions on their transit buses that had three "speeds" (not gears) converter, direct, and overdrive...... I have driven buses with this transmission and with Allison 5 speeds and 6 speeds in them and I can tell you that more gears is not always the better soloution. The 3 speed transmission was far superior to anything Allison put out in the bus application, and it KILLED anything Voith or ZF made.
  7. GMC Yukons are sweet, but are a bit big.... but I say if you are going to go SUV may as well get the best and the baddest!
  8. I know you are all about RWD but I know you still have GM's back and if my family were to get say a monte carlo SS you would be accepting of it but not approving of it lol.... sly you are cool wish you were on AIM more often.
  9. I am on vacation right now and am so happy to see this post has staying power.... not the same as the totally lame word association... but maybe someday.... i can dream right??
  10. WHOS RETARDED NOW!!!!! Shake and Bake!
  11. Being from California, I think it's a dumb move on SF's part, but I think it will find a great home in Stockton, where they actually want the ship. Hopefully, they can tie into the museum the fact that deep water ports used to go as far in as Fresno on the San Joaquin and Sacramento rivers and that ships like that were able to come into valley cities before they damed them up to make farm canals and water for SoCal.
  12. 24--- should be married and have kids by now according to my mom :smilies-38096:
  13. yeah i noticed that when i was there as well.... not your typical midwest town of farm girls LOL.....

    Arrrrrg

Same in Cali... at least at the 3 DMVs i have been to where they have taken my pictures.
  15. I HATE Illinois! Their roads are so boring and the speed limit sucks there and its so humid and gross on top of that. Because of my dislike for that state, i pronounce the "S" on the end of the state name LOL.
  16. So in Omaha NE after driving 400 miles from the Twin Cities...... Friend has a Nextel with GPS and we were on I-80 in Iowa when it goes "GPS Signal is weak, find an open area and try again" ITS FREEKING IOWA!!!!!! Thought that was funny. Gonna be driving to Texas on sunday... gonna see if I can get 600 miles in going 70ish (the speed limit on all these boring roads) I feel bad for people that have to live out here.
  17. Costco is the best store on earth! My family has been loyal costco members for about 15 years. I just recently got my own membership and am an executive member (which earns me 2% cash back on all costco purchases except liquor and tobacco and perscription drugs I believe) I also have Costco's American Express Card. There is no "fee" per say other than you have to be a member of Costco (fee there). You get 3% cash back for eating out (which i do ALOT on the road) and you get 2% back for traveling and 1% on everthing else. It's not a typical AMEX either, you can carry a balance if you chose and the Rebate comes in a form of a Costco Gift Check in Feb. which you are able to submit for a cash reimbursement. Costco's prices are on par with Sam's Club and there is actually two competeing across the stree from eachother in Fresno. Costco has the best tire deals and they have great customer service and a return policy that is the industry standard. I buy as much major stuff as I can there becasue I know that if it breaks, Costco will take it back. It's just too bad that people try to take advantage of their computer policy, which is why they have changed it. My mom works for the carpet vendor in Costco and we have done price compros of her products to the comprable product in a local carpet store and her items are usually 30 to 50% cheaper for the same level of quality and style. Hard to beat, but it's still not cheap stuff like home depot and lowes have that will wear out in 4 years. Haven't written this much in a long time. Guess it shows you how much I believe in this store. Things I have bought at Costco Ipods, Digital Cameras, TVs, cookware, tires, knives food and so much more....
  18. went out and bought some under armour today thats supposed to wick sweat away and keep you cooler.... gonna test it tomorrow to see how it works.
  19. No more auto zone for me..... I hate wal-mart
  20. I think my friend 68 is just obsessed in general... may it be BOF cadillacs or nissans or 59 buicks or 68 panthers or RWD or whatever.... lol
  21. Took these at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. This was in a dark corner of the museum hidden with a few race cars. Oh yeah, there is an error in the stats pic.... see if you can find it.
  22. Definately don't want to be driving a 3 axle pickup on a toll road OUCH!
  23. The GM-10 was debuted with only 2dr models because GM didn't have enough money to launch the 4dr version at the same time.... and THATS what really killed the GM-10 "W" Body from the start. People wanted 4dr cars not Coupes. Thats what killed the cutlass and the lumina. Thanks Roger Smith......
  24. Thanks for the eye candy.... i have a T-shirt thats black with the fleetwood grill and it says "Big Daddy Caddy" on it. It's possible for a tall white dude to pimp it in a brand new DTS right? Slap some gold trim on it and some white walls lol....
