  1. Welcome and enjoy your new car! Treasure it and it will take care of you.
  2. A Regency: It was around for two years 1997-1998.

  4. He seems to not do his own research. All his facts are based in fear. I hope someone can help him.
  5. I feel for your friend. Something similar happened to my engine on my Toronado. I have been wise enough to decide to get a new engine or re manufactured one and not rebuilt or used. You cited the very reason why. That is why I am putting my money aside right now for the engine. That engine is about to get worse and go out. They have already told you this already here. I just do not like the fact he is thinking id he buys another imported car that he would not have problems. That thinking is flawed. I hope you can encourage him..
  6. I am so sorry. I have been in accidents. In 2003 and 2006. I was in other accidents before that as a child and teenager. The first one was in my first Ninety Eight. It was totaled. The entire left side of the car was gone from the front fender to the rear left fender. The suspension was messed up as the wheel was pushed in the car. It took the accident well because it did not open the gas tank. They were good to me and gave me the value, plus the new stuff I had put on the car. They told me they had never seen a car that clean in such good condition totaled. Then in 2006, it was the first Toronado. The right front fender and door was gone. That payoff allowed me to buy the Toronado I have now. Both times I drove the damaged cars home. accidents can be tragic and scary, but I am thankful it was not the Intrepid. I understand your fears and frustration. We all grow an attachment to our cars. You will find another Prism or something else. Be thankful it was not your fault. Be thankful you are not mangled in any way. I offer you my sympathies. Do not let this steal your joy.
  7. Cool. Nice car. It would have been nice for him to find another Oldsmobile. It looks like LeSabre Custom.
  8. At least he stayed with GM.....
  9. The reason some feel music is not what it once was is because record companies control the artists, and do not allow them to produce music like the once did. Too much of it is packaged in a formula that is about sales. It is not about the artist or the art. You have to find those people on YouTube or other places. Artists feel blocked in with record deals. The attorneys have too much say so too. It was about the artists and the unique sounds.
  10. Congrats to you. That is good news you got your vehicle.
  11. No, it is not, but I visited the site, and I saw the site mentioned internet radio. I do not wish to put my birth date information on here. Sorry...
  12. I remember you!!! I remember you from Encyclopedia of Oldsmobile. I remember you because you hated giving up your Ninety Eight and you got an Eighty Eight. That was around the time I had my first Ninety Eight.
  13. I remember you. And good for you moving up through the ranks at your dealership. There are some who post a lot, some who do not. There are many who just read. Thank you for posting again. Congrats to you again.
  14. I listen to live 365 at work. I have many stations I saved as my favorites.
  15. You hit that one right on the head. Cars are costing as much as houses now, and that is a serious investment to buy a car and make the payments. The only drawback I have seen to owning older cars is finding parts sometimes. Other than that, it has been a good experience. Some cars had some good years in terms of quality and features and money. You can also modify the older cars too. I admit I am enjoying getting the Toronado back in working order, but the only thing is either finding parts or getting things exactly back to factory. You learn a lot when these cars are taken part and put back together. Financial analysts even say do not buy new because of the investment and depreciation. I do not think I would have the extra money if I was making payments. You can use the extra for buying a house or do things you would like. The only catch is you pretty much have to pay for the car up front as opposed to financing it. I would buy another Ninety Eight or an Eighty Eight or LSS. I would buy another Toronado hard as they are to come by. The 1989-1993 Riviera is a good one too. The B- Bodies and the Cadillacs before the Northstar V8 are great ones too. The W Bodies are good ones especially the 1990's with the 3800 V6.
  16. I feel you on that. I wish there was a whole new line of 2009 Oldsmobiles myself. There is not a car that strikes my passion right now other than the ones I own and drive.
  17. I am sorry Black Viper.. I feel you on that. Just remember you still have to move forward and not look back. You still have to get a job. These are stumbling blocks on the way to your goal. What you do determines how things turn out. The car does not determine your fate. It could be worse where you have to get a whole new engine like I do. Ocnblu is correct. It costs more to repair imports. People do not realize this until it costs them something. And good for you Dodge Fan. Back online and back on track.
  18. Agreed!! I like the Bravada quite a lot. I almost considered it before I bought my Toronado. If you want the Trailblazer, go for it!! I have no issues with that at all.
  19. Again.. I was referring to the Ninety Eight. I was not referring to the other GM cars.
  20. The Series I and Series II I referred to are the "trim levels" they offered on the Ninety Eight in 1995-1996. They used the on mid 1990's Oldsmobiles. I was not referring to the engine. The Series I died in 1994 rated at 170 hp. The Series II showed up in 1995 rated at 205 hp. Thank you for the background on the Shortstar engine. That is the info I could not remember, but you went into detail.
  21. Congrats to you and your family. One car and one step at a time. Saturn will build on this. I hope you have great experiences with this vehicle.
  22. I am very sorry. I hope that you will be okay. The photos said everything without a word. I hope you will rest and allow yourself to heal totally. I am not going to say I feel your pain. That looks painful. There will many many other vacations.
  23. As you requested: http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/delval...e/intrigue.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldsmobile_Intrigue
  24. What color is this car? Black or black blue-ish color? That car looks as big and and as wide as Camry and Accord. It looks bigger than the current Malibu.
  25. Back in the day if we even thought about calling that number, you got it for that, and if you did do it, you got it again when you saw your parents again. Here are some funnies about what to do with children: Irma Brown: Mama: SNL Nanny( Barbara Birmingham): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAEBJce2Yw8 Mrs.O and Mr.Walker fall in love: Major Payne: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj1B5AeKnIY
