  1. To add to what I posted earlier, I hope GM takes its time and does not rush this to market. Make sure it's as powerful as it needs to be (as it's in an SUV), smooth, etc. I'd rather have it delayed to fix the small problems than to have hundreds of recalls or bad PR for rushing it to market.
  2. 1. GM 2. Toyota 3. ???
  3. 18. BV, did you change your avatar?
  4. I knew titanium would have never made production, I'm not that stupid, but it's obvious something is lacking with the interior. This is the sort of thing that some have mentioned...watering down designs. The center stack with the metal around it (no matter what kind of metal) looks 100 times better than the one without. Details matter a lot more than you'd think.
  5. The HHR and Cobalt SS coupe were at my college today. It was pretty crowded with kids trying to sit in them and look at the engines. I think it was sponsored by a local dealer because if you signed up to receive more information you were also qualified to win an iPod. They were giving away free soft pretzels, too. I finally felt the interior materials of both and they're exactly what I thought they would be: fine for economy cars. Yes, it's hard plastic but it's nicely grained and the interiors are styled nicely. A security officer was walking around the Cobalt saying, "Yeah this looks good." Tons of kids were looking under the hood. Edit: spelling.
  6. GM bankruptcy rumors have been around for months, if not years now. No doubt Toyota will improve the Camry because it is completely outclassed by the Fusion (exterior) and Accord (interior). We all know Toyota doesn't rest on their laurels.
  7. LOL.
  8. I'm pretty sure Toyota realizes it's not the way of the future rather a cost efficient stop-gap measure for the time being. Alternative fuel cars aren't going to suddenly become popular tomorrow and cars that run off hydrogen won't be popular for at least a decade if not more. Too costly, too dangerous, too different.
  9. Good point. It seems like the hybrid in the Vue will be more comparable to Honda's rather than Toyota's. I don't have a problem with it, just pointing out what it's related to. It's a good idea but I think an even better idea would be to put the hybrid on more popular, better selling cars that come from a brand that is actually profitable.
  10. That's a very interesting thought, Mark.
  11. According to the article, DCX is mainly doing it for itself: Plus, many companies have their own "banks" in order to keep everything in-house, like GMAC for example or Toyota Finanial Services.
  12. LOL. What's happened to NINETY-EIGHT? He posted every damn news article ever written about the auto industry on the old boards.
  13. I didn't know you were that young. You just seemed older to me for some odd reason.
  14. Pennsbury School District, K-12. My parents have a variety of reasons for sending me to public school and I wouldn't have had it any other way.
  15. Like Toni said, a co-op is possible and so is an internship. Spending some time looking around is good, too, even if you've already done that for a while. Don't just look at major companies, check out the small businesses in your area. They'd be a lot more willing to hire you than a large established company. Edit: Or start your own business.

  20. Why should any administration doing something about this? It's capitalism! Any one of you could set up your own bank in this country if you had the money and like haypops mentioned, there are plenty of foreign-owned banks in this country. Go up to NYC and you'll see the N.A. headquarters for dozens of banks from around the globe. Plus, I don't think this type of bank is going to be one where you can walk up and set up an account or use its ATM. It's pretty much for DCX customers.
  21. I'm currently attending Drexel University in Philly, majoring in business administration with a minor in either marketing, finance or entrepreneurship (I have to pick one). I'm also thinking of taking classes so I can get my master's degree in education within 5 years. A word of advice: never be a commuter student! Edit: after I graduate (2010) I'll be in the workforce for 3 years at the most before I go back and earn my MBA.
  22. I can't wait to see one on the road and up close and personal. I still have a few more months until the car show... :(
  23. Didn't the Cobalt win the CR comparo? I hope you guys don't think/believe the Cobalt should win every test, comparison, etc. Out of all the complaining about CR I think I read a small handful comments at the most that were happy about it. Everyone else said "CR sucks" or something along those lines. Take what you get since it's obvious to all of us that GM doesn't get much in the media.
  24. The interior, from the first interior photo posted in this thread, looks to be on par with entry-level, economy cars. The silver is overdone a bit but, overall, not bad looks-wise.
  25. I'm one of the top 50 posters?
