  1. The wheels are very sexy.
  2. If the interior and powertrain were both a bit better the Patriot would be class leading and very compelling.
  3. I'll go against the grain and say it doesn't look bad for a Hyundai. Actually, it looks pretty good. Sporty and somewhat substantial, especially considering its class.
  4. It's no surprise the WSJ would be all over hybrids and fuel efficient vehicles while singing the praises of GM and Ford when large SUVs were all the rage. It has to protect the interests of big business oil companies. It's also interesting the paper fails to mention that GM has also boarded the hybrid ship, even going to such lengths as to apparently seriously consider manufacturing a plug-in hybrid. The article points out GM and Ford correctly determined the buying public wanted large trucks and SUVs but fails to discuss how large of a blunder that was. Detroit threw all of its eggs in one basket and has paid for it. It was a bad business decision on many levels. "These were and remain impressive feats in consumer design - as befitting products in which the Big Three were willing to invest precious capital, as distinct from the workaday sedans they churn out just to break even on their UAW labor contracts." The same could be said about the Prius. Toyota correctly timed the market and gave the public what it wanted. Unfortunately, Toyota does not feel the need to invest precious capital into one vehicle market and ignore the others, designing a singular vehicle as distinct from the workaday sedans it churns out just to break even on its nonexistant labor contracts.
  5. Outrageous!
  6. CaddyCruiser has it right. People should have put the pieces together and realized the Prius wasn't going to be the best car to drive in the snow. Then again, my Grand Prix was horrible in the snow and it wasn't light and didn't have low resistance tires.
  7. I like the interior color. It's not too light, not too dark, and goes great with the dark dashboard. The wheels need to be larger but since this is a hybrid I understand why they are smaller than they should be.
  8. Other than the ugly, droopy character line, I really like this car. The interior is amazing: luxurious and modern, techy without being overkill. The character line is overkill, though, and ruins the graceful exterior styling.
  9. C&G Default. I like the color combinations.
  10. Very trivial and very tacky, unprofessional advertising. It would be one thing if GM actually put out good advertising claims against the new Tundra such as bigger brakes, more safety features, etc. Payload isn't even mentioned and the ad clearly shows the Tundra has more towing capacity in typical, better-selling 1/2 ton versions. The Sierra also offers 1 V6 and 3 V8s, not 1 V6 and 4 V8s. We all know the 5.3L does not put out it power GM says it does because of the engine/transmission software management program that is geared toward fuel economy (Edmunds confirmed this). I'd like to see the 6.0L dyno'ed.
  11. Though I do think the plastic bumpers look somewhat cheap, they are also somewhat good looking, at least in these photos. I'll wait to see the professional pictures and the Enclave in person to make a concrete judgement. It does not look as bad as the other vehicles posted.
  12. Especially with its great new interior. So is Cadillac going to go on without a large crossover?
  13. I think it would be a great car for Europe IF it had a diesel option. I have no clue about what GM has in its stable but I'm sure it has something.
  14. How many Toyotas raced the other day? How many have raced so far? How many were banned due to findings of illegal substances, too low ride height, etc.? How many cars from GM, Ford and Dodge have been caught?
  15. I like the 300 and Pacifica from Chrysler. The Sebring sure as hell isn't the best looking midsize car but I wouldn't call it ugly. Actually, I think it's somewhat distinctive. The Dodge lineup has great styling, however, apart from the trucks and new Caravan. The new Jeep Wrangler is very nice looking.

    Snow!

We got a few inches, no more than 5, but the ice was the bigger problem. It snowed. Changed to freezing rain. Changed to snow. Snow melted. Snow froze. A terrible cycle. A few PA interstates have been shut down and the National Guard was rescuing people, giving them food while they waited for hours for traffic to move again. An emergency broadcast message was being repeated all day on the radio today telling people not to travel on I-XX.
  17. Considering the fact that GM is seemingly years away from producing the Volt, if ever, the word "outclassed" is laughable. Has anyone even driven the Volt? Can it be driven? I haven't paid much attention to it other than the initial showing. Like GXT said, if plug-in hybrids were worth it other companies, especially Toyota and Honda, would be all over it.
  18. That Buick fob looks like it costs as much as a high-end watch. Very nice, indeed, along with the possible Buick steering wheel. Hopefully Buick will have more than one vehicles (Enclave) that actually matches the design and luxury of it. The lighted windshield wiper stalk is a great idea and the (possible) 2008 STS interior is such a step up from what we have now. That comment about the Malibu made me laugh, though. How much did GM pay Edmunds to say that? Maybe the writer thought he was talking about the Malibu when he really was talking about the GMT900 or Lambda interiors?
  19. My first account was with ING but I switched to HSBC because it had a higher interest rate. I have had one for about 2 years now. Waiting a few days for the money to transfer from savings to checking or vice-versa is somewhat annoying but the higher interest rate is worth it. You just learn to plan ahead if you have to transfer money.
  20. What is Saab doing about this problem?
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. Thanks for cleaning that up. That is one sexy interior.
  23. Considering I own an xB I think I can provide some insight. The exterior looks much more substantial and a little bit more distinct but I hate the large D-pillars. The wheels have the worst effect on the car, they make it look cheap. The rims on the orange one would do much to help. Even though I find my 103HP engine adequate for everyday driving, more power is always welcomed. The four-speed auto needs to be retired, it's past the expiration date. I like the interior, it's better than mine, more techy and arty. The IP looks really cool. My gripes are with the driver side HVAC vent and how the center stack does not align, the radio is to the right of the HVAC controls and shifter. So would I replace mine with this? I'd have to test drive it first, obviously, but based on looks, specs and how my current xB has held up I'd have no problem getting the new xB. There are other cars on my list, though.
  24. I'm not a fan of the exterior (wide D-pillars and Down Syndrome front end are nasty) but the interior looks pretty good. I like the IP.
  25. It is a design refresh. In technical terms, an MCE. I think it looks good. The blacked-out headlights without the BMW-esque eyebrow look better.
