  1. Yes the 3.9 and 2.8 V6s as well as the 3.1 and 3.4 V6s were all 60°s. The newest 3.5, the VVT one, and the 3.9 VVT use a different block with offset bore centers to achieve the best displacement per volume ratio.
  2. I second that. Good photochopping GM but that car really isn't there!
  3. True but will it pay off? Will the increased sales justify the increased resources invested into both models?
  4. I gave up after the first paragraph when he said to look under the hood. Does he not know the engine itself is EXACTLY the same. The transmission houses the freakin' hybrid components!
  5. I don't think GTO has a thing to do with Camaro one way or the other. GTO is a GT class car. Camaro is a muscle car. IF GM were going to do a GTO it would need to be a different kind of car than Camaro, different image/softer suspension... Also we should note that if our insiders say not to expect something then we should not expect it. BTW evok can you share what GM has planned for the other shows?

  7. 10:50 - 11:15 am General Motors Seems as though we are getting something un-expected! I am going to guess it could be a GMT900, Avalanche or something else, or it could be another Lambda maybe the Saturn Outlook. Although it would not be out of the question to see a Pontiac RWD sedan concept as the GP dies soon and there is nothing announced to replace it, remember the Bonny is gone as well.
  8. GM, I graduate from Chiropractic college in the Spring of 2010. I will be making good money and will NEED to buy a new car and I want this one, in Black. Hey target demographic RIGHT HERE! I will even be willing to change my name to 2010Z4me
  9. Yep. They can't make the Camaro on it's platform solo. There'll be other cars, too. MANY of them by the looks of it.It's getting built. Period! Lets remember this guys. They are repeating what we have heard for quite a while. There is at least 1 volume sedan on this same platform, a Chevy. There may also exist a Buick and Pontiac sedan. Also there could EASILY be different wheelbases, STS vs CTS ring a bell. A LWB GTO coupe is not out of the question. Lets remember GM doesn't have the money rolling around to just make expensive concepts with no intention of producing them! There is a reason for this concept and that reason is to see how the public reacts to a cartoon version of the exterior, like the Torana did for the VE cars. Public is reacting well and that bodes VERY well for the business case!
  10. Looks like an SS stance, just needs a new bumper and chin spoiler. Also 25% of 20 mpg is 5mpg. So realistically this could get 25+ mpg on the highway!
  11. Josh. I PMed you about this. I think this will be MUCH worse than the leaked pictures. If I were you I would contact Scott and ask him if a pic like this was part of a media release. If it were that would violate an embargo. I don't wanna see C&G, CZ28.com get into trouble.
  12. Also what is the red car in the image on NAIAS.com? It shows part of the front wheen and headlamp and what seems to be the front grill of a car. It is a split grill with the top part not having plastic like the new MC SS and the headlights are REALLY aggressive. I checked and it isn't the Hyundai V8 coupe.
  13. The HHR is NOT the most important part of that picture. The Yellow Camaro is Welburn's own personal 69 Z/28. The one withe the vinyl top I don't recognize BUT what is that deep red car behind the sign??? I bet the Camaro concept gets introd on that stage in the background also. A closer view
  14. Born in Owensboro but live in Louisville 17 according to this: http://imdb.com/BornWhere?owensboro,%20KY,%20Daviess Why the heck does it list NASCAR drivers as actors? It says none in Louisville, KY but we have Muhammad Ali and Tom Cruise off the top of my head.
  15. After the final MASH episode the level of waterfolw in NYC increased by some 2 Million gallons all at once. That is the equivalent of like 1.5 Million flushing toilets. Looks like some people have already tried that.
  16. I have been seeing some black DTSs around work, almost daily, and I have to say it is DEFINATELY a looker. Certainly the Deville was a wonderful, conservative car but the new DTS is a whole other level.
  17. They won't get much by stealing the engineering. Most Chinese Buicks are old designs with outdated engines. The US doesn't use hardly any of the designs. Cheap rebadges with upgraded interiors is all that is needed for this market. Like it should be here people don't care if the platform is a little old so long as the total package fits the bill and the price is right then it is a great car.
  18. As usual. [shakes fist angrily in the air]
  19. Ok, if one thing is clear after looking at these 2 photos it is that these are NOT on the same chassis. The Compass is the Dodge Caliber brother and the Patriot would be the LWB Liberty chassis that Dodge Nitro is going to be on.
  20. Not hard. Heck I can see the aftermarket doing it if GM doesn't. Roush, Saleen, ASC could all do a really good aftermarket bolt on fastback roof for the Solstice. Just remore soft top and bolt on hard top.
  21. I scanned that picture over a year ago when the brochure came out. That was when we thought the Saturn Kappa would be called Evoke.
  22. The 9-3 doesn't use the new GM FWD 6 speed auto it uses an 'Asin'(sp) unit.
