  1. I though gas engines were around 15%
  2. That would NOT be inexpensive and would actually be very hard to do given some of the platforms that GM currently has with Buick, there hasn't been a W-body vert since the Cutlass in 96 and it was a 2 door. The G-body has never offered a factory very but there have been DTS verts made by aftermarket companies for big bucks so it is possible. This IS possible now that the CTS is moving onto the larger AWD capable Sigma. The smaller more compact one is now open and could fit a Buick very well and the price point could be north of $30K and buyers would likely not be turned off by the price. But what programs do you slow down to do the work on it? So you want sticker jobs, because that is what most SEs are in the industry. You will not get DI on 1 trim level because the whole thing would have to be re-crash and emissions tested. A NG N* would be a great addition to the lineup or maybe the new DOHC Diesel but we will see. And you want an Enclage GNX? Yeah I don't think that would go over very well, at all! Quite frankly, NO. A brand with as much history and pride as Buick needs to be a top priority at GM. I think that they should be the main line at Pontiac/Buick/GMC and should have a luxury compact sedan, luxury midsize sedan, luxury fullsize sedan, and an extended luxury sedan (stablemate to the ULS to provide volume for the ULS program though with less fancy stuff). I think things like Magnaride, Onstar, Heated seats, ESP, ABS, and Climate control should be standard. If Buick wants to be taken seriously as a Luxury line it needs to do this and it needs to do it now. It needs to quit worrying about keeping the factory running at 100% and make sure the dealerships are running at 100%. Buick should be all about the best luxury values in the industry. I think that FWD has a home at Buick, heck they brought out like the 2nd model in the US with it!But with all that being said I understand where GM is coming from. You have your top tier brand, Caddy, making models that aren't world class and you MUST take care of Caddy first. Then you have to get the volume division, Chevy, on the right track. Then you come up with a VERY cost effective plan for Saturn, rebadged Opels, and you want to get that plan started as soon as possible so you don't have to keep paying for development of US only models. Then you get to Buick and Pontiac. Because while the brands themselves are important, their volume really isn't. Getting GM back into the black is what is most important because while all this is going on you have MAJOR cutbacks to work through in management, you need to reduce your underutilized factories, and get rid of excess workers at factories that are being modernized. GM has a plan for Buick. They will NOT kill this brand. I think by the time I can afford a new GM I will be prime Buick demographic (DC around 30 years old, kids here or on the way, suburban lifestyle). And Buick is where I will likely make my home within the GM family for most of my life, though up until now I have always been Chevy. I want you guys to remember a phrase that the Camaro guys listened to for years and let it sit for a while "Have Faith."
  3. Were there any previous Buick's purchased within the last 7 years? Anyways congrats, I am sure that you can attest to how good of a car it is. Now who else has purchased a new Buick recently?
  4. This certainly makes Caddy's chances for European expansion go up dramatically. Hmm...what would you want a 300-D, CTS-D, or a STS-D?
  5. Do you really think with all the product stated for Saturn that its sales will not rise? CTS is where volume is growning. Not only that but it is setting up future sales of higher profit/larger vehicles. GMT900 Escalade, NG CTS, and the upcoming BRX will grow the brand as will the revamped STS as it moves up in size. Caddy turned around with the launch of the A&S cars, XLR and CTS. CTS made the world turn its opinions around quite quickly on Caddy. STS was purely a larger more traditional STS. SRX has been considered a critical success but a sales disaster. DTS and GMT900 Escalade were not game changers Escalade might pull in a few more sales but it won't impact the perception of the brad. CTS did that by itself. Lucerne is turning a lot more heads than the Lesabre and PA did in their last few years. Volume is down but the Lucerene is selling at higher transaction prices than the last of the older Buick G-body twins. That is good. Right now the SUV area will be covered in full by Enclave and that is a good thing. Lucerne is doing quite well. A revamped EPII Lacrosse will much better than the current Lacrosse could hope to do. I think they really only need maybe a compact SUV, theta sized, to have a rounded out lineup. I will disagree with that for 2 reasons, GM has publically stated it will not be abandoning its brands anytime soon and 2 Buick is not a stand alone line anymore! Buick is partnered with GMC and Pontiac. Pontiac will cover the lower end/sporty cars and GMC will handle the trucks, why we don't need a Raineer or Rendevous. If GMC gets a Theta or sub-Theta model then Buick doesn't need one. This is model year 2007, GM plans things years in advanced and that means they are likely planning the 2011-2012 model years now. It takes time to do engineering and design work. It takes time to build up the cash to do new models. It takes time to build a brand into the positive area of customer perception, which despite what many "Buick Fans" might think is not very good right now.Now a question for the "Buick Faithful": How many of you bought your last Buick NEW within the last 7 years? My guess is not many.
  6. NO. There will NOT be a GN or GNX, now or in the future. PERIOD.
  7. Any changes done to product plans now will not have an effect before 2011 and likely 2012. Give the guys a chance before you bash them. You nor I have ANY idea what is going to happen with Buick outside of the Enclave and a RWD large sedan. Lacrosse could move to EPII or it could not, we don't know 100% for sure yet.Didn't people doubt Saturn's turnaround for the longest time, and Caddies at that?
  8. Walmart is going to start carrying E85 in all its stations. The rest can be converted for a very low cost to pump E85 since all that is needed is a new pump and likely new lines. $37 Billion over a few years and with multiple companies picking up the tab really isn't that bad. Lets remember Exxon pulled in $34 Billion in profits in 1 quarter about a year ago.
  9. That won't happen because the cells are taken away early enough that all cells are stem cells and because no cells are differentiated we have no loss of functionality or abilities. Theoretically all of those cells on their own could turn into anything that then need to. Any of those cells could turn into a liver, a brain, a lung...the list goes on. That is the beauty of stem cells. Pharmaceutical companies, to my knowledge, do not own these companies and therefor would have no impact on their profits. Also this technology could reduce the number of persons requiring drugs and may decrease the drug company's profits. Again all of this is theory right now.
  10. Would everyone stop complaining about the D*mn diesels? They are coming but for some reason AutoNews didn't put them in their report. Maybe they don't know enough about them to be 100% or maybe they just don't think it will happen or maybe they haven't heard about them. But they are coming so stop complaining. Actually I am quite dissapointed with this AutoNews stuff as it doesn't seem to be anything we don't already know. In fact there are many things we do know are coming that they don't have in their stuff. They aren't GM and they don't know all of it. Perhaps they are just careful about what they put out on their reports or maybe they just don't have all the bits put together but lets remember that this is just a report and not 100% everything, OK?
  11. All the stuff about VE being able to be sold in the US is 100% true, Mooney and other GM staff have said as much. I do expect the Commedore to be imported, if nothing else then to take up the GTO volume levels.
  12. Yeah I have read reports less than 3 months ago of a V6 diesel, 4.9 if I remember right, and a smaller car/midsize truck diesel around 2.9-3.0 liters. In fact it was confirmed on another board that the displacements were correct, though the articl claimed the 4.9 was a V8.I think they are totally off their game in the diesel area. Also the 2 mode hybrid system will be/has been adapted to the FWD 6 speed autos for use in Theta crossovers and likely Epsilon cars. As far as other diesels I expect that Euro diesels will be brought over to the US in the Saturn cars since they will essentially be the same cars but built in different places.
  13. GM's 2nd most profitable brand and #2 in sales volume. Kill GMC and it is like taking away 1/4 of your profit.
  14. Sketch or spy pics? I'm intrigued!
  15. That is what the H3 uses, it would be the same size.
  16. According to at least 1 person a GTO launch is being planned for the same time as the Camaro launch. Also even if the timeframe is off I bet any amount of money that the GTO name is not dead.

If by killing Olds you mean giving it all new products, distinctive features, hotbed of test technology, unique engines and then pulling the plug when the median buyer age doesn't drop and sales continue to slow. Then yes they are starting to do the first step of that.Jim, you can't just keep selling old, out of date models because people are familiar with the darn name. YOU the salesperson (your not an order taker right?) has to talk to people about the new product and show them the benefits of the newer, better product. That is your job. Unless you only sell so much because you are an order taker.
  18. I haven't seen any of those, if I do I will get pics for all to see.
  19. Which is a modified GMT355, it is built on the same line as the GMT355 pickups and is generally reffered to as a GMT355.
  20. Yeah the popping noise isn't important, the movement is. The noise is actually Hydrogen gas coming out of solution of the snyovial fluid. Sometimes you get it sometimes you don't. The 2 steps forward 1 step back stemms from your vertebra moving back into the position it was before the adjustment. As your body gets used to the changed position of the spine they will stay there longer and you will get longer relief periods. Best of luck to you.
  21. Bob, How did your visit go?
  22. Avalanche GMT900 Yukon Denali XL Colorado Extended cab Xtreme Envoy Denali The Enclave is certainly going to be tops when it comes out!
  23. Since nobody PMed me I guess nobody wanted to take my idea and run with it. GMC Kodiak with Hummer front grill. Oh yeah 5 1 6
