  1. True. B/c as we all know Honda can produce something that looks to most like total crap yet will still be purchased b/c they have many that believe they can do no wrong. As I say this I do have to admit they build some very reliable machines w/ nice interiors, though they just don't have enough style for me to consider one for purchase.
  2. Can anyone, at all, tell me WHY the US STS didn't get the Chinese SLS interior? I mean seriously. It isn't like the car is that much more expensive to manufacture w/ the Chinese interior that the STS couldn't have absorbed the price bump if one was needed. Was it that the GMNA guys didn't want to use 'foreign designed stuff' in their car?
  3. I can't quite put my finger on it but something looks really weird about the 'RWD' one.Perhaps a mid rear engined car is the BEST compromise. You get the packaging and traction benefits of FWD but you don't have the ungangly proportions of FWD. Plus tire wear would be much more even. Someone needs to make this fit 4 and it would be pure awesome as a daily driver.
  4. Sure they all offer a stick on the 4 cylinder but who offers one on the V6? My guess is only Nissan and VW.
  5. I don't have the skills but would one of our excellent photoshoppers please do a pickup version of one of these?
  6. WTH is Nylon Magazine doing at a driving impression event?A quick search for car on their website brought up article headlines that have nothing to do w/ cars. A search for Camry, Malibu, and automobile all returned no results.
  7. That is all only IF Ford brings this to the states. And lets face it it is a FAR nicer car than the more expensive and larger Focus, so that probably won't happen until the current 1 generation behind Focus is replaced w/ something else.
  8. Sorry but that ain't going to happen. The Subaru platforms use a flat 6 and weren't designed to use V6 engines. And I think we all know the Supra will use a Lexus derrived platform rather than a Subbie. Also I expect the 5.0 V8 they are developing to be the powerplant of choice.
  9. Like the interior, profile, and rear end. Really dislike the AM like front end.
  10. Now Chrysler, watch closely. This is what you do when inventory levels get a little to high.
  11. Sliding doors on the other vehicles besides minivans. They save space and allow for larger doors w/ out worrying about door dings. GM has had a few concepts, Insignia for one, but nobody but 1 Euro company I have seen has offered it to the public.
  12. See I gotta disagree here. Sure the 3 series is expensive and has moved up in price but why shouldn't it? It is THE car in the segment. It defines its segment. Every new car that comes out is immediately compared w/ the 3 series to see how it stacks up and pretty much all of them fall short. The C class has the hardware to compete but not the passion. It is isn't the driver's car that the 3 series is.And this car is not a marketing exercise it is a return to roots. The 3 has grown quite abit and to me has moved away from the pinnacle for the 3's life, the E36 (174' L x 66' W: 3120) vs the current E90 (178' L x 71.5' W: 3340). In addition to actual size the 3 appears much larger. Also since it has moved up the price scale then there is room for a true BMW in the lineup. So a guy who wants a 135i convertible b/c he wants a vert and wants the power, same engine as the 335i but in a smaller package, is a poser b/c he bought a vert? That makes sense the 135i will be VERY quick on the road and will beat many larger cars, even if it is a vert.
  13. So what is not to like about this car? Is it the 6 cylinder powertrain? The RWD layout? The available stickshift? The worlds best chassis control that we have come to expect from BMW?Or can you just not get over the image? Can you not prejudge someone b/c they bought a premium marque? So what if BMW moved the 3 series away from its roots? They are bringing over a virtual clone of the 3 series' roots. If this were a Pontiac w/ slightly different sheet metal would your opinion change?
  14. Just giving you a heads up. B/c the rule is true. I know from experience. Its like the 2-5 rule: a person who has a good experience will tell about 2 people, a person w/ a bad experience will tell 5+. A better way to say it is "Were you aware of the problems that Toyota has been facing in its quality recently? If you would like to come by my work I could show some of this to you OR I could mail you some of the information. I am not trying to say something bad about the Tundra but I want people to be informed about their decision beforehand." They could have taken what you said at face value OR they could have thought "Look at this jerk salesman trying to make a sale when we are just getting a bite to eat." Either way you took a chance that will likely not have the effect you would have liked.
  15. I thought everyone knew the first rule of sales: When you say something bad about a competing company or product it reflects back to you.
  16. I wonder how close this "Black Cherry" color is to the 96 Impala SS's DCM, Dark Cherry Metallic.
  17. My bad I missed those. But looking at the main stream compacts: Corolla, Civic, Elantra, Focus, Cobalt, Astra... You will see the 4 speed autos are still alive and kicking. Heck wasn't it 2000 when you could still get a 3 speed auto corolla?
  18. I think I may see a little sour grapes.I for one think it is a great option for those who want a RWD sporty car, like the upcoming Alpha Pontiacs are supposed to be. The only difference is price and image.
  19. I believe if you examine the plans for the 6 speed autos you will see that the Cobalt et al will get the 6 speed eventually. It is just a matter of time, money, and priority. The large sized Malibu needs a 6 speed auto moreso than the smaller Cobalt in order to achieve the same fuel economy. Also consider that the midsized cars are a much more competitive segment, and much larger in terms of profits than the smaller compact cars.
  20. I believe if you will check that the ONLY compact sedan/wagon w/ a 5 speed auto is the Civic. Which means everyone else is using FOUR speed automatics. Which means GM is w/ the game but not ahead of it.So instead of complaining b/c GM is using its universally praised for smoothness 4 speed auto be thankful they are using it over the 5 speed parallel shift auto it used in the early IONs, which was way ahead of the game.
  21. Hey I am not a finance major ok? Surely those can't be production.
  22. WOW Did you see those gauges?! They can't be serious. Those look like they pulled them from a 80s model Jeep. I hope nobody on here has any stock in Chrysler cause things are looking BAD!
