  1. I thought for some reason you had put the mirrors back to stock and had replaced the painted grille, etc.
  2. Sorry to hear about the fleet downsizing. Do you have any others pics of how the Blazer turned out?
  3. My friend went the 5th wheel route and tows with his 2004 GMC Sierra Duramax Crew Cab 2500HD 4x4.
  4. Storage lined up for winter and car cover on order. Otherwise, still just driving my new toy until I have to put it away! Last week I commuted to work in it...some strange looks in rush hour traffic. The security guard looked a little perplexed as I pulled into the parking garage with it in the morning too
  5. One more... If you use the "view new content" link, the results page title shows as "New Content" instead of being prefixed with Cheers and Gears like the other forum page titles.
  6. I still got the same result. Thread I used to observe the behavior: http://www.cheersandgears.com/index.php/topic/47631-buy-them-now/page__pid__555230__st__0entry555230 Same FF 3.5.5 and IE 8.0.6 versions as above post.
  7. My observations are based on using this thread: http://www.cheersandgears.com/index.php/topic/15564-project-camino/page__st__460 I get the same results using Firefox v3.5.5 or IE v8.0.6001.18702. I also tried Firebox v3.0.10 on a physically separate machine, which also yielded the same results.
  8. I'll also add that embedded links seem to take you away from this site now, whereas before I think they opened a new browser window and/or tab instead.
  9. New version doesn't seem to resize images posted in a thread anymore. Camino's wagon thread is an example.
  10. I think the TV Show Psych does a pretty good job of using their theme song...lately they've even redone the opening and song depending on the episode.
  11. Like in the old days...
  12. I was wondering if it was more basic...just that it's a wagon makes it a curiosity in a world full of SUVs and CUVs...
  13. I'm not questioning ability at his age, just the idea that at 21 he can afford to both purchase and insure a 2008 M3. Certainly not "typical"...
  14. So, the Novamad continues to draw curious stares as I've been out and about driving it. I'm not sure what aspect draws their attention, but it's certainly interesting to observe from the driver's seat! Interestingly, it has no Chevy markings on the whole car, just a "Nova 400" badge on the rear quarter panel on each side.
  15. I find it most interesting that a 21 yr old shows up with a 2008 M3!
  16. http://cadillac.gmblogs.com/2009/10/29/cts...-the-challenge/ CTS-V Answers the Challenge By admin ⋅ October 29, 2009 ⋅ Post a comment Filed Under Bob Lutz, CTS-V, V-Series Challenge By Bob Lutz, GM Vice Chairman Today, at the Monticello Motor Club in New York, the Cadillac CTS-V stood tall in the V-Series Challenge, a race pitting the CTS-V against several of the best production sedans on the market today — those that showed up, that is. Here are the results from the track. There were no winners or losers today – the point was to have fun with great cars because that’s what they’re all about, and to show that GM vehicles can compete with the best in the world, in every class. It was a great day for the CTS-V, and an exceptionally fun day for me. I’ll have to issue another challenge so I can do this again sometime soon, although I wish I had started doing these when I was younger! The final results as posted by Cadillac:
  17. All I could find was this: Source: InsideLine
  18. Insideline has pretty good coverage of this event too: Link
  19. Final Times per Autoblog: (edit: re-sequenced order) CTS-V (John Heinricy): 2:46:560 CTS-V (Aaron Link): 2:48:902 CTS-V (Brian Redman): 2:49:183 BMW M3 (Michael Cooper): 2.50:424 CTS-V (Jack Baruth): 2:51:153 CTS-V (Lawrence Ulrich): 2:53:026 CTS-V (Bob Lutz): 2:56:321 Evo (Wes Siler): 3:08.126 BMW M5 (Michael Mainwald): 3:08:989 CTS-V (Chris Fairman.): 3:14:292 Audi RS4 (Tom Loder): 3:15:702 Jaguar XF (Archan Basu): 3:16.670
  20. That would seem to depend upon the driver's license/experience of the M3 driver. John Heinricy was supposed to be there to combat the drivers with a racing license of some sort I thought. In the pre-race video, the M3 driver does seem to have some experience, though not sure which category he falls into.

  22. I'd purchase an Element EX in a heartbeat over a Terrain. The Terrain has a polarizing design and I'm one of those that views it as FUGLY...and I'm basing that on seeing it in person too. I think the Equinox is a much more cohesive design...the Terrain has too many awkward angles, mainly the front....though the sides and back aren't great either....especially the squared off wheel arches with the tiny on-road tires. Looks like a car playing SUV dress-up...
  23. Easily one of the worst looking CUV's since the Aztek.
  24. I was probably about 4 when we got it, so my memory is a bit sketchy on it. Fairly certain it also had a whip antenna for the CB mounted on the back bumper. Save for the 1985 Buick Skyhawk Wagon which was light blue (and I saw alive and kicking last year!) all other wagons in my family have been green for some odd reason -- hence why the Novamad was so appealing -- I'm upholding tradition! 1970 Pontiac Catalina Wagon 1974 Chevy Bel Air Wagon 1978 Buick Century Wagon 1985 Buick Skyhawk Wagon 2002 Subaru Legacy Wagon
  25. I am pretty sure the Buick had a 3.8L V-6 in it, but I'm not a 100% on that. I know it was special ordered, light green with matching vinyl interior. My memory of that one is that the back windows didn't roll down and all we had vents that opened. Oh, and it had a whip antenna mounted to the bumper for my dad's CB radio!
