  1. Sorry to hear that. Hope those insurance guys won't raise your premiums like mad.
  2. The Camaro is nice, but for some reason that colour reminds me of the GT-Hertz.
  3. Speaking of Honda, we were constanly using it as an scenario in management class (I'm taking a course on strategic management technology). They claim that Honda is successful in a way that their engine technology is sophisticated, as it's used on pretty much you can think of. I could almost burst out laughing when I think of the Si's engine, and someone else in class is challenging that as well.
  4. Good read.It does makes sense and it appears that this approach has been used in Canada so far. We have the blue GM (Chevrolet/Oldsmobile), red GM dealers (Buick/Pontiac/GMC), some paired with Cadillac and Euro GM (Saturn/Saab). Sort of sounds like Regular, Extra and Premium gas.
  5. Well, I don't see why it's wrong to use BMW's lineup as a reference. Being a "poor man's BMW" is rather broad. It would be good to see Pontiac get the good handling and performance of a BMW at a low price (higher than Chevy of course), just not blatantly imitate them.Just don't put Pontiac directly against BMW. Now THAT is suicide. Aim lower at the premium brands.
  6. Oh no, don't get me wrong. This is just a study of human nature.
  7. Just a thought... Yes, we're about being friendly and fun, but there is the other side. Do you have any enemies on C&G?
  8. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_G6 I can't imagine they put the Oprah embarassment in...
  9. No, you got it wrong. A person considering a BMW will never cross shop a Pontiac.I'd say Acura and low end Infiniti is a better target.
  10. Great... more wierd placement of the handbrake...
  11. Agreed. There are tons of great FWD cars out there as well. Is an Alfa Romeo cheap and low quality because it's FWD? No.
  12. That's not the point. The point is that they're charging that much for what others will charge for grands less, only because of the name. And that's what turned me off from Japanese cars in NA. I still buy Japanese in Hong Kong, because they represent the value.
  13. Damn... that's even less than my base Cavalier!
  14. AFAIK the 3800 in the Impala was a Series II, which was only used on W-Bodies and G-Bodies.
  15. Newer cars with DICs only have either MPH or KM/H, not both Probably it was set to MPH for the heck of it. But yeah, in a car, unless it's actually 40 degrees out there, who needs A/C when you have a sunroof? Even my Cavalier didn't have one, I hardly turn on the A/C. Noticed a big gas consumption difference with the thing on and off.
  16. Double the worse for me. In this stupid house here in Waterloo, we have an A/C that DOESN'T WORK. We set the air conditioner to 25C, but all night the house was still at least 29C. With humidity it felt almost like 40C. Yes, it's that bad. And knowing the landlord, she will just won't fix the damn thing, making excuses.
  17. Just go back to where the G6 was originally planned in the concept: AWD. The G5 just die already, and I think they can scale Zeta down to make a 3-series like compact sedan. I'm perfectly fine with RWD and AWD only lineup. It can very well just become the poor man's BMW again. Somewhat like this: 1-Series Hatch -> Vibe 3-Series Coupe/Sedan -> G6 5-Series -> Grand Prix 6-Series -> GTO 7-Series -> Bonneville X3 -> Torrent Not direct competition, just one-to-one mapping of the lineup. Although I haven't really take into consideration of Buick yet...
  18. The Sunfire had an Ecotec, but it was the 2.2L, same as the Cobalt now. The 2.4L Ecotec is the same as the one in the Cobalt SS Non S/C, and the Solstice. But for some reason it only developed 167 instead of 170 in the Cobalt and 171 in the Solstice. I was told it was an exhaust issue.
  19. Bolero actually sounds too much like Alero.
  20. As I was saying, I highly doubt this is the Accord we're getting. More likely the TSX.
  21. Just found this... So Honda IS trying to be the king of blandness after all...
  22. Yes, Corvette and XLR. And I doubt it's hard to do, since the G6 has an electronic ignition already. The ignition cylinder isn't a mechanical one in my car, rather an electronic one. I just need to tap it into start, no need to hold it down, and it'll start automatically.I would assume replace that part with a button would do the trick. Oh, and after almost a month I realized I typed one wrong. The Manual Shift Mode one should be standard for all AUTOMATIC models.
  23. It's nice and sunny out there, and the rich b*st*rds are taking their rides out... Porsche Cayman S Solstice SLP Firehawk Convertible SLP Camaro SS Convertible Several C3 Corvettes (convertible, hardtop, t-top) A sh*tload of C5 Corvettes
