  1. Thanks for the tip, Stace! Actually it won't be that long. I got myself loaded with crap to do on the weekend. I still have like 50% of my crap in Waterloo, so it's a moving weekend for me. They're open on Monday.
  2. For me, 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL. A fully loaded one, including the FE3 sport suspension. Near identical to the International Series, but it wasn't for some reason. It's the first car we got when my family first landed in Canada. Also my 2002 Cavalier, it's the first car I drove, and I had a big fight with my parents when we got it. And of course, my G6 ;), my first own car. Here's a list of all our cars (chronological order) and some signficance 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL - First car in Canada. Primarily drove by my ma, and she constantly brags about the "good ol' days" with it. It was the best car we ever got and nothing really replaced it (well, maybe my G6 will... but so far nothing is better). 1990 Chevrolet Corsica LT - Second sis' car. We had problems with this one. The steering constantly vibrated and we were told it could be something wrong with the suspension that it was incorrectly fitted out of factory. But we ain't no mechanics so we don't know. 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier VL - First sis' car. Originally my sis wanted to get a Tercel, because she was lured by people that imports were good. After test driving and looking at it, it was completely unjustified because we could get a fully loaded Cavalier for the price of a barebone Tercel. Also the only coupe we ever got, and probably will be the only one because of stupid insurance companies. Male driver + 2-door = money pit. 1995 Chevrolet Lumina - Replaced the Ciera because there was major transmission work coming up for it. First car we had with keyless entry. Sold a few years later as our family moved back to Hong Kong. 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier VLX - First car we got when me and my ma came back to Canada. Also the first car I drove. Had a big fight with my parents because I wanted an Alero instead. Still in production, for another few days... Also the first car with insurance exceeding the cost of the car itself. 2006 Pontiac G6 - First time I switched to PBG from CO. Got sick with Chevies, and Olds was gone. Also my first own car purchase. Wasn't a pleasant purchasing experience, but nonetheless I'm getting the car at the end. As you can see this is how I got hooked onto GM...
  3. This freaks me because it came out of Sixty8's mouth. I can see that GM is just putting SS to do what Z used to do and a bit more. I don't see why not, because the market seem to be fine with it. At least the SS models are more powerful than their base counterparts, not just an appeareance package. Just if GM can make the SS to be as famous as Type-R, making everyone want to stick an SS badge, even if they drive an Camry. Heritage is important, but sales is what keeps a company running. Oldsmobile had plenty of heritage, but couldn't avoid the axe.
  4. Anyone think if a NA 2.4L will benefit from the DI? May sound realistic, but maybe pull numbers near 200? I know at least several other applications is really in need of the boost (read: G6) and the Cobalt SSes (non-SC) will really be pocket rockets and can shut the HP/L morons up.
  5. Oh yeah, I do love the car. I fell right into love with it when I first drove it. But now makes me worried. Since the Cavalier's leased under my dad's name, I might have some difficulties returning it. Although the contract says that immediate family members can buy it out, not sure if that applies to returning and early termination. But oh well, have to wait till Monday to see. The dealer even closed early today for a "party"...
  6. I don't see how GM is "learning" from Toyota. The Vibe has the worst interior of all the current Pontiacs, at least aesthetically.
  7. OK, this time for real. Next week Monday, G6 replaces Cavalier. Car at dealership, keys waiting for my cash. But something's wierd. The dealer couldn't get my Lease Termination Report, and had to get me to get it and fax to them. Last time I remember when I asked, the Chevy dealer in Waterloo managed to get it. But this time the Pontiac dealer tried twice and it didn't work.
  8. http://www.gmcanada.com/english/vehicles/p.../gpg6/index.jsp Never said so, but with it zooming into an interior with nobody driving the vehicle, sounds like they are advertising that the remote start knows how to drive the car :P
  9. I suddenly have this idea. They can share radio units, but not the faceplace. Somewhat similar to the idea of a removable faceplace on aftermarket radios. Design the display and the buttons on designer panels fit for each car, then on the panels, an opening for the cassette and CD on the panels. Fit the radio on the the chassis, then overlay the panel over the whole centre stack. Keep the position of the radio in mind when designing. They can still share radios, but then still have the integrated look. I suppose it's just a bit more, with a few connecting cables and a bit more plastic.
  10. Home and work. During lunch hours, and after work.
  11. Wow... my thread was revived??!! Just wow.
  12. Given that my G6 is not in, I had to renew Cavy's plates, i.e. emissions test. I went to the PBG dealer I got my G6, and while doing the stuff I sat in 3 cars: Lucerne CXS, G6 GTP and Solstice. Here are my comments: Lucerne: Fit and finish is really nice, but the top of the dash material can really do better. Feels extremely rough to touch. Others such as seating surfaces are very plush and top notch. G6: Surprisingly I find the dash material here is better than the Lucerne. Except that there are some slight hints of cheap plastics (e.g. the lower part of the door, the centre console), otherwise I give it a pass. It's not exactly soft to the touch, but very similar to my friend's Mazda 3, which the media lusts over. Solstice: Same old. Huge gap in the door, extremely noticeable. Other than that, the actual dash looks perfectly fine. The only problem is the door panel. Personal opinions, feel free to bash me.
  13. I know this guy like imports, but when will this HP/L talk quit??
  14. I think the whole palette was there. Too many to count. It was heading 401E.
  15. No, this time is "exodus owns you".
  16. Compact, subcompact, midsize, whatever. Those terms are just messed up nowadays. The G6 is like 2 sizes larger than my Cavalier, yet it's classified EPA as "Compact". Or maybe just a plot to make it look to be the heaviest in the "class" and make it look bad.
  17. That's because it has already spreaded when you opened it with IE. It does not use IE to propagate, but with others who look at your blog with the offending post... with IE of course.
  18. Apparently there was a worm spreading on Xanga. It uses a JavaScript hole in IE to propagate. Firefox is safe though.
  19. I suppose the wood is there just to please Camry Solara buyers. But yeah, the wood is really out of place in a G6.
  20. ...when you can have this in a 4th Gen Grand Am??
  21. Um... no. That light bar takes the stealth right out of it. Better line it along the rear windshield.
  22. Another one: I don't see why Croc finds porn on this site disturbing, so let me post an example of porn. :AH-HA_wink:
  23. Isn't that a Gnome engine, commonly used in airplanes? http://www.keveney.com/gnome.html
  24. It's very disturbing that I still have an exam on Monday when everyone around me is done...
