  1. I got two Linksys' and got fed up with them. Both of them randomly freezes up under heavy *cough* torrent *cough* traffic. I switched to a Belkin now, and it's rock solid. Other than the fact that the config page doesn't work with Firefox. I might look into the future of getting a Linksys again, probably just for hacking.
  2. That's not the problem. The comment about the FWD car driving and riding like a RWD is the thing. Ask Sixty8, and you'll know what I mean.
  3. In fact in real life driving it's well under that. At around 100-110km/h, I watched the tach and it's more like 1800RPM, unless of course I start driving @ 140km/h. That's why I say I absolutely love my engine, no engine noise while cruising.
  4. Oh, I remember another one. Back when I was still driving the Cavalier, after filling up at a gas station, I took my car aside to check if things are OK under the hood. A guy came up to me and said how he liked the alternator was put in the front of the engine, and it's easy to work with. Then he asked me what year is my Accord.
  5. Something even better than thrift stores: Stupid refund policies! That's why there are tons of bargain outlets around. I get tons of refurbished goodies. A lot of stuff is virtually new.
  6. I thought it over and this is my idea (from small to big): Solstice Roadster - RWD 2-seater roadster. As-is in the 2006/7 model, including the GXP version. Probably some performance bumps on each. Solstice Firebird (I don't know why I like this name, although it'll probably get Firebird fans angry) - Essentially a Solstice fastback coupe, a slight focus on trunk space to make it practical. Same trim levels as the roadster. Read: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...indpost&p=95813 G6 (or possibly reusing the Grand Am name) - FWD midsize coupe and sedans with AWD available, I4 or V6 engines, on Epsilon II: - SE model with Ecotec engine, and only a few options like ABS, CD player, automatic/manual trannies, power everything. AWD will not be available for this trim. This will be Pontiac's volume car. - GT model with more amenities like larger rims, performance tuned suspension standard, and AWD becomes available. 3.5L V6 standard. - GXP model, pure performance model. Performance goodies such as drilled rotors, performance exhaust, limited-slip differential, etc. 3.9L V6, if possible, supercharge it. Essentially the current GTP model on steroids. Limited run of hardtop convertibles each MY can be considered. We don't need a lot of these. Grand Prix - RWD V6/V8 sedan. RWD platform shared with Chevy's RWD sedan. Slightly larger sedan than the current GP. Haven't really thought about the trims for this one, but should be similar with the G6, replacing Ecotec with HF V6 and 3.5/3.9L V6 with LS2 V8. Slightly detuned for GT, full performance with the GXP. GTO - Essentially a GP coupe, with different front and rear ends, with the exception that the LS7 will be limited availability on the highest end trim. Torrent - Major refresh, moving styling away from the Equinox. GXP trim available, with a turbo or supercharged V6 engine. FWD models no longer available, and only available with Chevy. This will be the entry SUV for the PBG dealers. I'll add more when I have more ideas.
  7. The Mazdaspeed 6 employs an AWD system because the 2.3L Turbo engine could not be used on the CD3 platform without insane torque steer. It has to be modified with the 500's AWD system to distribute the torque to all four wheels. I was saying this could be a possible reason why Honda made the AWD system standard. As for the GM comment, I was referring to the V8 W-bodies. They didn't need an AWD system to handle the HP. Those cars are still FWD only, yet they still handle very well.
  8. I don't see Pontiac fighting BMW, but I do see it fighting Mazda, high-end Hondas and Acuras. Leave all RWD to Cadillac. We have to be progressive here. Don't get me wrong, I'm not Anti-RWD/V8 here. I just think that it needs more diversity to reach a bigger crowd. I just think that we need to be a bit slower and be cautious about marketing decisions. As for the V8, I was barely struggling (financially) to operate my 2.2L I4 LN2. Thank goodness the LX9 isn't much higher. In fact I was looking for a 4-cylinder G6 before they stepped me up to V6.
  9. Obviously it was only a joke. Maybe do it the Impala and Monte way. Have a RWD Grand Prix, then call the coupe GTO with different front and rear clips. Not exactly trims, but still distinct enough to be called different models. Monaro and Commodore are the same cars, so I can't see why a Grand Prix / GTO combo won't work. It works in Australia, so I don't see why it won't work here in NA. GTO was a trim to start with anyways, much like Olds 442. As an aside, Keep the G6 FWD though, for more diversity. I know a lot of people here are obsessed with RWD and V8, but you can't force everyone to go that way. I myself can never afford operating a car with a V8.
  10. The only gripe I have with them is they don't let you do anything technical like in Windows, as I used to administer Apples on a school network. On the techie side it's hard to configure. Now in OS X they let you do it, but then you need to know *NIX. Speaking of Apples, where is Network Engineer?
  11. I thought someone will say "stace" here...
  12. Well that depends in which department you're talking about, i.e. styling or mechanical. e.g., when you're talking to BV, he'll say the Firebird is better than the Camaro, and the Fiero trumphs everything.
  13. Well, another possibility is because it employs AWD for the same reason as the Mazdaspeed 6: they can't distribute the horsepower and torque to two wheels. And hell, GM has been doing it on 2 cars already with a chassis designed in the late 80s. But our point is, the RL is not living up to its price range. That explains the slow sales. People don't justify paying that much for a Honda, no matter what badge they put on the front. It's still a Honda.
  14. I hope vehicle won't mean SUV. RWD + V8 -> GMT-900?
