  1. Well first of all, if a white dude said what you just said......well.....I can't even imagine..... but all I'm saying is that if what you just said is true, the argument then becomes, can those folks really influence a large percentage of the "younger generation" to buy Buicks?? I don't think they can and even though I don't want anything else bad to happen for Buick, I hope this bites that dork right square in his ass!!!!
  2. Very nice. I wish there was a "full frontal" so we could see the instrument panel. I'd love to hear what the toyota/honda/etc.. humping crowd thinks about this. This is their stomping ground, much the same way FULL SIZE pickups are for the domestics so I'm sure it's not built with the same grade of high quality plastic and other "soft touch" material that is used by japan. Anybody think maybe toyota and honda need to be worried about this car???
  3. I've seen both, driven both and disagree completely. I like everything about the Dodge better than the titan. And I like everything about the GM trucks over the Dodge (except maybe the Cummins). Having GM, Ford, and Dodge to choose from, there's really no reason for the titan to even exist, IMO. We're all entitled to our opinion.....you can have the titan  .
  4. I guessing here, but I bet there are many people that appreciate a handsome design that houses a tasteful interior. It describes me, and I'm not black. I assume most people who appreciate Buicks, regardless of their race, appreciate those things. So it seems like a bad idea to bling out Buicks so that they appeal to "hip hop" artists. Targeting black people is okay I guess, but why black people who like hip hop??? If they're gonna focus in on such a "specific" kind of person, why not target well educated, affluent, discerning "black" people?? Seems like a more natural fit for Buick (especially the Enclave. That vehicle is beautiful the way it is. Why "bling it out?). This just seems like a really strange, stupid idea..
  5. My vote is for the CHARGER. Just because it would be new.
  6. Because the Ram is a better truck. Hands down.
  7. "We've got to bring new people to the franchise," he says. "It makes sense to test this with African-Americans because we have a reservoir of goodwill with them - more so than Caucasians, Hispanics or Asians." So this guy wants to put 20's on some Lucernes and try to sell them to "urban" , "hip-hop artists".... I wonder how much $$$ this dork makes to come up with brilliant ideas like that. GM needs fewer guys like this....
  8. A lot of people who carefully maintain their trucks and use them for real work and heavy towing install aftermarket aluminum differential covers, like the mag-hytec. They not only allow the diff to run much cooler, but are capable of holding several quarts more fluid and have a dipstick to perform regular checks of the fluid. It's just something that really works at prolonging the life of the differential. I made the comment only because the picture of it was there. It struck me as odd, which is no suprise because it's a toyota. About the MPG thing.....nobody says a friggin' word about the ridgeline getting 16 mpg. All they can talk about is that it's a honda and the fit and finish is so great. Now when a Suburban gets 16 mpg, it's a monstorus, polluting, eviromentally unfriendly gas hog. It's the double standard thing....you know japanese=good, USA=bad. I'll bet you a nickel the tundra's mileage won't be anything to write home about....and it will be overlooked because......it's a toyota...
  9. It's not pointless. Spokesmen from GM grant that toyota is going to sell quite a few of these trucks. Those sales will come from somewhere. Speculating where those sales will come from and what GM's response is to that is a worth while topic. You ARE fighting a battle. You think toyota is superior to GM and you want others to believe that too. That is a battle. Especially when you enter a site that is made up of GM fans and show a picture of a bolt and an inner plastic inner fender that has a gap that is probably less than an 1/8" inch and you call it "HUGE"....and then state that it is an indication of questionable build quality. That kind of $h! that drives me crazy. You can like toyota all you want, but that picture has nothing to do with build quality. I grant you it's not the most attractive picture, but you're trying to plant the seed in people's minds that there are quality issues with GM's new trucks. I see right through that BS. I'm fighting a battle too. I'm against people perpetuating the fallacy that American vehicles are inferior to imports. I don't give a crap where they build that ugly turd of a truck. It's a japanese company, assembling japanese parts, designed by japanese employees that is competiting with real AMERICAN trucks, ie: Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, and [sadly] to a lessor extent Dodge. And before anybody jumps on the "what's really American" argument, if none of that matters, why doesn't toyota move their headquarters to the United States? Why not turn it into an American company, instead of pretending to be? That would be the smartest thing they could do, IMO.
  10. I kind of feel sorry for it. It's not so much ugly as it is stupid looking.
  11. So toyota went back to the drawing board on that interior? Why does it still look so cheap and ugly? All those different colors make the overdone shapes on the console and instrument panel look goofy too. And is that a GAP on the center stack??? Oh my!! I didn't think japanese vehicles had GAPs between any panels... That must mean the build quality is bad! The crossover exhaust pipe looks like it's going to hit the drive shaft..but maybe it's just the angle the photo was taken from. The differential looks backwards too, with all the bolts on the front of it. With that design, I guess owners won't be able to install an aftermarket aluminum differential cover that keeps the axle cool during heavy towing, etc... I bet all that superior japanese engineering came up with something better. As for MPG. I noticed the little ridgeline that is supposed to be so great is averaging 16 mpg in real world driving. 16 mpg in a honda or toyota is better somehow than 16 mpg in a Domestic vehicle. This tundra isn't going to set any standards with it's mpg and certainly not it's styling. I'm sure they'll be a hybrid version pretty soon... So what's up with toyota releying on rebates to sell that thing?
  12. I remember the day I heard about the "merger". The first words out of my mouth were, "it won't be a merger. That is a buyout". A year or so later, Eaton and them acted like they couldn't believe they'd been taken over by the germans. I wanted to throw up in that guys face. What a jerk off. He knew exactly what he was doing and he got filthy ass rich as a result. I've always thought it was a real shame Chrysler was "owned" by a foreign company. Chrysler was a great AMERICAN company with a rich heritage. If Daimler would get out of the picture, I think Chrysler would do very well. They sure did before Daimler came onto the scene...
  13. You're a moron.
  14. :rotflmao: Ugly times four! :rotflmao:
  15. I've seen both, sat in both. There is no comparison. The ridgeline is stupid looking and I totally disagree with the material quality of the GMC being inferior to honda. My experience in the new GMC couldn't have been more different than yours.
  16. That toyota is ugly and everyone of you know it. There may be a lot of people that buy it, but a lot of people buy crack too. Doesn't make it a smart thing to do. The car magazines will all love that thing just like they did with the stupid ridgeline. They all talk about how great those little japanese trucks are and then they drive home in their little BMW 3 series. None of them drive them, personally. I laugh everytime I see a tundra or a ridgeline. :rotflmao: The titan is more credible than both and it too is hard to look at for very long. I dare any of you people, that think that new toyota looks good, to buy one.
  17. That car better become the flagship for Buick. Call it whatever, but GM better get that car here now. And lower the price about $55k.
  18. Nice pictures, thanks! I agree with those who believe that the Cheyenne should of been the new look for a Chevrolet truck. It's just awesome.
  19. Untill I saw the 21's on the Enclave, I can't say that I've ever really liked big wheels. The Enclave's wheels are "perfect". With that said, almost anything else with those giant wheels looks stupid to me.... No Buick "deserves" to have those big ass wheels on them (except maybe the already ridiculous looking Rendevous), but ya know, to each his own. Cadillacs don't deserve it either, but I've seen much worse on them. When you buy a car, do whatever you want to it. I'm for that. Even when it looks stupid as hell. They say that your car says a lot about you. You have a car that looks retarded....that's giving the rest of us out there a little heads up about the guy behind the wheel
  20. All that sounds fine, but where does that leave the Acadia and Enclave pricing? I wonder if the Enclave is going to be in the mid 40's for a hard loaded All wheel drive model..?? I still don't see why we need a Saturn version when we have the top o' the line Buick and the GMC is gonna be 'as nice' with a little different look. Looks like overlapping to me. If they price the Enclave too high, it won't matter if it's beautiful. It won't sell...
  21. What a waste of time.
  22. I don't see that at all. I think the Super Duty is a great truck and dang good looking, but I've owned both and IMO the HD was a better overall truck. The solid front axle on the Super Duty makes for a better set up for the guys up north that plow, but I think there are plenty of IFS GM Heavy Duties plowing without problems...That is the only 'edge' I can think of for the Ford.
  23. Love it or hate it, the seats are definately different. Kinda retro IMO. I've never seen any car at SEMA that I liked the entire package. All the cars at SEMA seem to be a little "different". No matter what seats you put in it, the SRX is a bad ass car. The center stack looks better than the silver spray paint crap in the rice burner luxos.
  24. This is true.... I just hope that the commercials are effective....doesn't exactly make me want to go buy a new Silverado though...
  25. While watching game 3 of the World Series....a new Chevrolet Silverado commercial came on in spanish. Completley in spanish. As in, couldn't understand one word.....in spanish. I know the United States has a large Hispanic population, but that was weird....
