This coming from the same person that actually bought a Five Hundred. Leave Acura alone unless you actually plan on buying one.

Why is Chrysler giving overtime when overstocked?
SingleStylish replied to Variance's topic in Chrysler
Hello people... contract negotiations??? Could it be that they are building up a supply for the fallout when contract negotiations start for them and their counterparts? -
LS 460h (Whichever is the hybrid) New Toyota Tundra (I assume since the drivers were Asian they are probably the new San Antonio Plant managers.)

LaNeve: GM's Sales Slide has "Bottomed Out"
SingleStylish replied to Variance's topic in General Motors
FANTASTIC GM!!! You've finally learned how to play the PR mind game... downplay the reduction in production of the most profitable line you sell with this kind of "made-up" news!!! This really is a good sign that GM is back in the ball game playing hardball with PR giants like Toyota. -
Wouldn't you say that it is better for GM to recoup the costs on a vehicle it is actually competitive with to begin with? Really, look at the sales... selling a Hybrid GMC is far more important to GM than a Hybrid Pontiac. You of all on this board know this... would you buy a G6H even if it got 36 MPG?

You are thinking of Falling Water. That's not it. Falling Water is a bungalow styled home by Frank Lloyd Wright and not at all Neo-Modern glass, concrete and steel.

I've been a longtime GM fan and purchaser, until recently... it started with a Honda Accord and we traded for an '06 TSX Navi. Why did we buy it? 1. For 30k we got leather seats, auto climate control (uses GPS to locate sun and compinsates for temperature change to direct sunlight), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assistance (VSA), 8 standard airbags including hip air bags, integrated Bluetooth Phone, voice command, XM, satellite navigation, 5-yr 60k warranty, lifetime TLC (Total Luxury Care--Roadside, Concierge, and travel services), 18" rims, performance handeling, 30 MPG HWY (we've been getting 38 MPG), etc. I can attest that the interior is nothing short of fantastic. No complaints with soft touch Audi like plastic coatings everywhere. But, why did we buy it? We were impressed with Honda quality and wanted some more technology and luxury features. Lets face it, it is expensive to fix a german car. And we don't fit the clientele of Lexus or Cadillac as they are just to brash. So, where does that leave us? Right were Honda wants Acura. In fact, the press release for the TSX states "intended market is households with median income of $80,000. Our intended buyer has grown up driving import cars." Honda/Acura knows what they are doing. Resale is high on all Acuras including the RL. Go check it out. I don't care whether a whole bunch of people who aren't going to buy Acura's anyway think that Acura is or isn't a luxury brand. It wouldn't have changed my mind anyway. And that's how Honda wants it. Maybe if Buick and Pontiac weren't damaged they would see this point and intended audience also.

For those who have not driven a recent Honda made vehicle, the EL Gauges are brighter than hell during the day because they are black when not lit. Therefore, when driving at night, unless you crank the brightness back up, the EL Gauges dim when headlights are turned on. In fact, at the very center of the gauges in both the Accord and Civic is a symbol that shows headlights on. As far as Auto-on/off headlights go... I own an '01 Silverado and an '06 TSX the Silverdao has auto lamps and the Acura doesn't. Honda does NOT make a vehicle with auto lamps until you get to the MDX and RL price points. Why? Same reason GM started adding the switch to turn auto off. Some people just don't like them and for most import buyers they've never had them. Why do it now when it adds cost? To take this one step further only in the '06 refresh did Honda add oil life monitoring to its Accord when GM has had it on its vehicles since the 80's. Why did it take so long? Remember the Honda V6 in the Vue? Well, Honda got some technology from that partnership and alot of it was the Driver Information Center. Honda carefully places parts of it in the Accord and adds more features as you move into Acura pricing. So... problem, issue, annoyance... call it what you will but, auto-on/off lights are no where near a deciding factor on vehicle purchase. And if it is, you are probably over looking other more important features.

You know what they say about California... "It's the land of Fruits and Nuts."

Why green? And would you say that the extra clear coat on a tint coat is worth the extra money? If so, why isn't that offered on more vehicles?

It must have been BM's first 20 points that Mark Leneve made off with that has returned GM to profitablity and "greatness."

While here in good 'ol SA you need to go see our big Toyota plant!!! HAHAHAHA!!! j/k... You should however get a Margarita at Tomatillos and have dinner at Pico De Gallo. Be sure to visit the King William area for old homes and never forget the newly renovated Tower of the Americas. Opened in 1968 for Hemisfair, the tower recieved a facelift by Landry's restraunts and reopended on June 22nd, 2006. The views are amazing and you'll see historic photos of what the town looked like way back in the 1800's on up. Should you need anything to do in Corpus, go see the Lexington aircraft carier. It is a bit steep but a hulking mass of America that is well worth it. Admission about $12. There are also bay and deep sea fishing trips for under $100 bucks. Other than that... Corpus is the home and birthplace of Whataburger food chains. While in Del Rio, go see Amistad dam/lake. There is a house boat group out on the lake that will rent you a furnished house boat complete with linens and beverages for overnight stays. They are really nice with slides off of the upper deck and the best part is the views of the lake itself at dusk. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!! Beinvenidos San Antonio!

If the CEO and the shareholders have differing objectives... it is time to find a new CEO. When would you not have a CEO seeking an increase in profitability and stock price? You wouldn't. Now, views how either party thinks that may be achieved could differ greatly.

You know... this interior may be very pleasent. It appears to be very ergonomic and interesting enough not to be boring. (Which for Acura is a GREAT thing!!!) But, the color grey is the most debilitating color on the planet... GM included... Just as an interior gets legs and starts to run it is tripped up by the blah grey... AGHGHGHFHDHEHGH:LKWEJ:OKJWEOIU!!!

WOW! I always knew that our country SOLD OUT GM
SingleStylish replied to FUTURE_OF_GM's topic in General Motors
To the both of you... While I agree FREE TRADE is not killing America, some of the outsourcing IS. To a small degree there is still money to be made in America doing manufacturing. It probably isn't a big deal for those jobs to disappear as more service oriented jobs appear from our consumer society. HOWEVER, skilled jobs like engineering, design, and other career fields that require some if not a complete college degree SHOULD NOT be sent overseas. Those jobs are middle to upper middle in our economy and will most certainly make a difference to our national livelhood. Again... FREE TRADE when practiced globaly if not reciprocately works to everyones favor. I am for that! But, in some cases our products never reach foriegn shores do to foreign government interference. -
