  1. i'm not knockin the hybrid scene but does the market really need a hybrid tahoe. i hate it when people around me that have large suvs of the tahoes caliber complain about the price at the pump... they baught a tahoe and they are single or its just them and their spouse.
  2. looks like a car that will find its home in a videogame somewhere, more than likely gran tourismo 5.
  3. well looking at the big picture i wouldnt go near such a ditch or offroad obstacle of any nature in the tundra... wouldnt want to give my camshaft and excuse to break in half on me.
  4. right, mid engines are cool but not vette cool. besides the biggest gain for a mid engine car is the near perfect weight ratio... isnt the ZO6 just that???
  5. Yeap, time is money... thats why instead of waiting 45 mins for the DA to change my oil and filter at the dealership i do it at home in 10 mins. as for the old oil... it sits in the handy dandy drain pain that has a lid until i take my trash off. i dispose of it in the containers provided for me along with the used oil filter. so what it costs 10 more dollars for me to do it, but the oil i choose goes into it and i know that the full amount of oil makes it back into the motor.
  6. hehe they can still use "moving forward", they just cant have any ditches in the commercials!
  7. http://www.crateenginedepot.com/store/LS7-...58-P930C53.aspx there you go a cool 13 grand form these guys. i am lookin at an LS2 from them for my 69 impala. they got all kinds of go fast goods there.
  8. i'd still love to see that commercial live... i know there had to be a duramax off screen pulling that yota back across that pad...
  9. yeah thought it looked a little ridgeliny too. toyota has the ram f-1500 and dodge will have the f-tundra 150
  10. D'oh you're right... i guess there isnt a hybrid that i find appealing then.
  11. biturbo v12 or a hybrid... yeah the v12 would be a pick for me. only hybrid i seen i like is the tesla roadster by tesla motors. only draw back is that it freakin sounds like my R/C indy car. as for the ad sure, sounds good. most people are stuck on the craptastic 80's and havent even looked at domestic in years.
  12. yeah i can already see that joke. was thinkin it this afternoon when i saw it on the news... chrysler holding... holding what?
  13. "What happens when XM and Sirrius eventually merge and require an "upgrade" in order to continue using the service." thank you, i see that as a bigger issue because isnt xm radio about to become a standard deal in most of gm's cars on certain trim levels? As for Eldo guy, freakin come on you old fart onstar only cuts out one step of the process... you ever thought of AAA and a cell phone hot shot? both have been around for a while. stop tying up the judiciary system stupid crap like this... bout as dumb as gettin $10 mil for spilling coffee on yourself.
  14. so sunburst orange is going away and inferno orange is coming in... is it a different color or a different name so the extra cost is justifiable? whats this new black granite look like btw?
  15. found an interestin story about it on MSN entitled "what killed GM" http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Inves...FadestoNo2.aspx first of all in my mind GM has not been killed. we lost the number one spot. whoopie. you cant be on top of the the game forever. let toyota have it. everyone has been heralding their mythical feats of car design and quality but you know once you get up there and in the spotlight the critiquing begins... then the faults are opened up and people that you found backing you up are now casting the first stones at the first sign of unpopularity. now this "killed" thing. has the media forgotten the car company that has been posting its biggest losses ever... FoMoCo is getting ready to crawl into its deathbed in the next 5 years in my view. then there is Chrysler. Diamler is trying to hand it off like the ugly drunk girl no one invited at a frat party. I' am glad toyota has the lime light, go for it. but just how long can you hold it? 2 years? 5 years? definately not as long as the General was in command. As for me, i like GM, i'll buy no other product. my family has had no less than 15 gm cars since i was born and granted the 85 cavalier sucked ass (which ones dont) we never had any trouble out of the rest. In closing, congrats Toyota... now grab some vasoline and your ankles cause its your turn with the media now.
  16. my point for bringing up '73 is that in my mind cars stopped focusing on what the people wanted and more on what the government wanted them to be as far as mpg, emissions and safety. the 5mph bumpers, the huge drop in compression ratios and all the choking smog equipment came to a point in 73. face it no one got excited over a car until the turbo Buicks showed up. who would have thought 3.8 liter v6's would be showing up mustangs, fbodies, heck even vettes. i was in termoil to see that at one point in time a corvette made only 230hp. i wasnt around then i'm 25, but my dad was and he tells me that we are coming full circle again. the hp is up, the fun is back up, and now the man is gonna come down hard... 1973 style
  17. black that whole thing out and slap some red GS badges over it instead of the park avenue... get some get some upscale muscle in the sedan department. i cant wait for the impalas if the buicks are going to look this good!
  18. Odd... my calender says that it is indeed 2007... but yet i have this terrible feeling like it is 1973...
  19. i believe i could look past something so small. a dealership could fix that. there was a spot in my dad's 97 1500 on the floor that squeaked when you put your foot on it just so, besides look at the big picture... rattle or randomly plowing headlong into a ditch because a faulty suspension. the choice is obvious. unless you like cleaning out ditches.
  20. that could give some v-taks a run for their yen
  21. yeah that would be awesome. what about a turbo on that thing?
  22. Nice write up. But I believe the GTO wasn't successful because It had the worst marketing for it. Also It suffered from the Fireo disease as does the solstice now. Dealer Gouging. When the GTO first hit dealers I seen stickers with 45,000+ stickers on them. Insane! Now you can't touch a Solstice unless you have 26,000 on you. And its supposed to be 20k. Like how the Fireo was ruined by dealers over pricing them till demand dropped. After GM found that out They were supposed to prevent it from happening again, But History repeats it self. i feel the same way, the gto lived up to everything the original was, but in '04 there were ebay auctions asking 10 even 15 grand for the right to purchase the 1st on the lot, that wasnt factored into the cost... these were dealerships doing this on ebay. even as i type this there is a smokin hot red 06 goat sittin on the local pontiac lot... never titled. they still want $30,000 for it as far as i know. maybe the net GTO will resurect the "feelings" people had for the old ones... even though i'd say the 06 could take a 69 ram air IV
  23. well $hit i thought this was cheers and gears... must have some how got on filibusters&rebuttal.com by mistake... back to the gas... there was a guy at the hospital knocking hipo cars and how useless they were except for drinking gas. being the good little GM supporter i am i kindly pointed to said 26mpg the vette gets. he didnt believe me to which i replied it was the 505hp vette on top of that. sure enough he checked the site and found the truth... so he started knocking dodge and my reply was who cares about them.
  24. no groans from my end, i think it could be one of buicks saving graces to get the youth back in their market... of course most of the younger people that remember the psychological damage the t-types and gns had would be in their 30's and 40's at least.
  25. well in 2003 i was lookin at an s-10 zr2 and was very distraught at the $26K price tag. the guy at the dealership was telling me about the colorados comin out in about a year to replace the s10. he told me that the I6 from the trailblazers were going it it which to me spelled success. i still wish it would have had the I6 but i must say the 3.5 isnt a slouch, i got a crew cab LS and i can say that it at least beats the old civic hatch back vtechs at the red light. he asked for it, in a 4 door truck i dont start things like i would have if i had my 90 454 still.
