  1. nope but everytime this cat signs in and checks out a caddy thread it becomes a lexus does this MB does that bmw has all hour... it just gets really old seeing the same post. my list is just how i feel. maybe i am just too easy to please when it comes to a vehicle. when i see a cts-v rolling down the hwy the first thing i think about is not "i wonder how i can talk on my phone find out how to get to the grocery store keep my butt warm while moving the seat 30 different directions", its "man i'd like to wring that out on the track for a day". maybe i focus too much on the driving experience, not the creature comforts that most look for in a house.
  2. okay itemized list here we go: 1. arent those like $20 at bestbuy now? 2. are you driving a car or are you watching the latest dvd release 3. WTF its called window tint 4. already touched on that one in a previous post 5. whatever, a draw i guess but i still think they for sissies 6. there is one its called a windshield, you look out and well heads up. 7. have people become this lazy i mean really... does anyone still drive out there who can afford $45K cars? 8. its calld f#&*^$ pay attention to what you are doing. you shouldnt be shaving drinking coffee checking stocks and trying to find something good on the radio... drive already. 9. Advanced auto, sams club, target, the list goes on... an aftermarket one will probably have more of the stuff you'll really need with quality that you can depend on. 10.are there really 14 different directions a freakin seat needs to move? i can only think of 6... 8 if you inflate the stupid things... back, forward, tilting back and forward, and raising and lowering the back of the seat... my dads 94 z28 accomplishes this quite well. 11. isnt there a 5 yr 100K warranty out now? besides since the last time i read in the paper GM is trying its best to get out of the redzone this would quite effectively put them in chapter 11 in those 4 paid years. 12. do people still keep vehicles 12 yrs? im asking cause i dont know but the last time i heard it was a rare occasion when a vehicle got paid off. 13. again with the laziness... there are levers. you pull them then you let go when its in the right spot. 14. see #3 15. see #13 16. nothing wrong with the power plant... check 17. if it'll stop the whining 18. why so the transmission has something to do when it gets bored? 7...8...7...8... get my point? 19. al gore wants a caddy? i thought he was into yotas... thats what his son got busted high on pain meds speedin in 6 months ago. 20. so we took a few steps back to make it easy on bmlexbenz... thats fine, at least make it fair for them. after all that would be put on the cars the wish for a caddy not being in the 30's and being in the 50's and 60's would be fulfilled and the average joe would be sayin well piss at one time i could afford a caddy but now i guess we'll just go buy BUICKS
  3. everything is either coming or is rumored. look there is no way to convince a diehard fan that another brand is superior to that which they will kill in the name of. you might as well be in a mustang forum on a soap box preaching the camaro gospel... you are going to get just as far there saying what has been said on this thread. state an opinion and be done or state something thats not rehashed from a previous post thats reworded. theres no way to convince someone set on what they believe.
  4. i think they tried that, the designers spontaneously cumbusted from sheer delight and joy. sort of like that joke of death skit from monty python.
  5. im sorry but why the #%$^ would a heated steering wheel be important? i still laugh at the heated seats in my dads 1500 but have begun to accept them, but a steering wheel? lets find a better reason to complain or i'll bring up the fact its raining here on my day off. thats a more logical thing to whine about.
  6. i think the consumers can still make a stand... maybe. remember the big stink when the ford probe came out? ford had to hustle to appease the pony car fans or there was going to be a riot in the streets. i dont know i would instigate a riot but i would show em the finger once or twice.
  7. where do you sign for this option #3 that you speak of?
  8. we have had tons of gm, my family is GM essentially. Gparents 55, 56, 57 chevy, 65 impala, 68 impala, 69 impala (now mine), a caddy, 86 scottsdale, 96 sierra, 94 and 97 bonnevilles Parents 68 chevelle,69 custom, 72 stepside, 78 custom, 77 vette, 82 sunbird, 85 cavalier wagon(id like to forget), 86 monte carlo, 93 s-10 blazer, 94 z28, 97 1500, 2001 blazer, 98 s-10 (sisters), 1990 ss454(mine), 2004 silverado Z85, 2004 Colorado. quite a lot of gm metal through the driveway over the years... maybe hanging up the trumpet is a little hasty but i need to be impressed to use it more often. i dont want to see car supposedly styled after a 66 one of the best lookin powered by the front tires it would be a travesty
  9. correct me if i am wrong but i thought the whole reason for buying a camaro wasnt the interior. its important dont get me wrong, but i was under the impression you bought one cause it had a big motor and 2 seats... just like you dont buy a corvette for its interior, you buy it because its a freaking powerhouse that'll smoke just about any taker that challenges.
  10. it amazes me how our country can be so tight on things like CAFE yet countries like china can be so lax in them. i would be willing to bet that an 1/8 of world polution comes out of there. maybe mr gore should go there for some public speaking on the environment.
  11. as is my fear. all the auto publications i read maybe 6 months ago were abuzz and jubilent of the hint that there was a rwd impy in the works. i have a terrible feeling that if it slips in without the rear tires making smoke there will be a huge number of people let down that are waiting for this ride. i myself being one of them. asside from a consumers point of view companies need to keep the fan base happy. those dedicated few who preach to their friends and neighbors about products are usually a companies best asset. i may put away my megaphone after this betrayal, if it comes to pass.
  12. i agree with one statement here... gm does have to play it safe... because when a company is pulling itself out of the red zone hoping to get back into profits, gambles have to be small and concise. toyota has money to burn, but give anyone enough rope and they will hang themselves with it. i think they are up to 4 loops in the noose right now.
  13. hehe how do you play catch up with a luxury car sporting fake exhaust? its like tripping yourself running to first base. with a v10 560hp and $170,000 price tag i would hope that car could outrun the z06... i dont think caddy should compete with that kind of vehicle considering maybe 300 will be made. if they do decide that they should compete with that i guess thats where the cien would fall into play. but if a company is trying to pull itself out of a hole, wouldnt it be better to sacrifice 300 customers to get 3000 to 5000?
  14. um... its supposed to be. it was the leading powertrain for the vette and then so on... its an extremely versatile engine that can be tuned indefinately. 1000hp isnt unheard of in an LS1 f-body. they are taking the hotrodding community by storm. what once was the 350 crate domain is now the LS1's claim to fame. you want a smoother quieter LS1, i am more than sure it could be done but why stifle a perfectly good motor? it replaced the troublesome LT1. google LS1 engine swaps and i am sure there will be some interesting projects in there. bottom line the LS engine platform is infoullable, gobs of tourque, perfect flagship power.
  15. doesnt suprise me at all. i havent looked at an impala with desire since '96. when i heard rwd for the next version i was overjoyed... not so much now. just like camino i would rather see them call it something else and let the impala name bow out for a while
  16. give it a cookie. now what does that same engine do without the hair dryers on it? what does a twin turbo vette do, more air means more power every time. it aint the same.
  17. really it could have cloth seats for all i care, if you buy this you are buying it for the motor and the 2 seats attactched.
  18. does look kinda plain but thats not where the extra $30K went hehe
  19. http://www.lingenfelter.com/Lingenfelter2006ZO6TTBGB.htm heres a tt pushrod for you. lingenfelter z06 1100hp @23psi on pump gas. pretty much sounds like an F16 flying over your head. the production package is 800hp/800ft torque. lingenfelter doesnt have any posted specs but who cares. if they can do it gm just has to dust off some books and they'll be right back on the table. car will be stupid expensive but then isnt a m series.
  20. agreed, looks like they ran into sears or autozone and snagged some wheels from the shelf. prolly just part of the cammo though
  21. because it is old, its been around since 55 surely its too old and outdated of a platform to still be a viable sorce of performance... surely. the only things you can still get for them is turbos, headers, cams, heads, super chargers, pulley kits, blowers, n20 setups, pistons, valves, rods, performance chips, etc. i mean there isnt much you can do with them anymore, right?
  22. you mean like my grandparents in their 70's that have purchased pontiac the last 2 times they bought a car, and are looking at another. if anything should have pushed them against domestic it would have been the vega they had with the defective block. their 97 bonne se runs smooth as silk on its 3.8 and it'll fly too, for a 6 shooter. 28 hwy mpg on the side note there as well. the pushrod is here to stay has been since chevy dropped the 265 in a 55 bel air. if you want to talk mods on an engine tune into powerblock on spike or some show on speed chances are somebody somewhere is doing something with a gm pushrod v8. if it aint broke dont fix it. who cares if europe is doing it... if i have a sports car its a pushrod.
  23. curse you camino, you stole my post... at least it was more detailed than what i had to say. hehe
  24. enough with the rumors, how about now, in the next production year or so? how do they stack up? 7th and 8th gear is for top speed, serves what purpose. 200mph where you going to see that? 1320 is where my hearts at, how do they stack up there, what is the capabilities between the cones? send em around the ring or something. i dont really have expertise here because these cars are well out of my price range and i dont even consider them but i think that if this thing has a sc ls motor its going to scream. so what if the beamer is lighter, a better tuned suspension could help the caddy out. its going to have more torque to me that = hole shot, and at 82 grand i mean the price diff can amount to all kinds of hi-po goodies. the car is going to rock, i wouldnt be shocked to see it outdo the 5
  25. wasnt that discussion covered pretty heavily in the cts coty thread?
